Strengths:
  • Huge: Artemis Station is one of the largest Space Stations in the galaxy. It's size is both it's greatest advantage and it's greatest weakness. When first being designed Artemis Station had to be created with a perfect inter-travel system. That meant every tower, every arm, every single piece of the station had to be perfectly put in place and connected with one another. This was so that someone traveling from one end of the station to the other would be able to do so without much interruption. This process was difficult, but eventually achieved by Vanir Technologies Engineers. There are dozens of trams, turbo-lifts, and speeder cars that move people around the station every which way. This system of inter-transportation allows Artemis Station to functions, it's vast size not being an obstacle, but instead an extreme advantage. There are dozens of offices, gardens, arcades, and residential areas.
  • Self Sustaining: Artemis Station as designed to be completely self sufficient. The amount of space that can be found on the structure means that there is plenty of room for gardens and synthesizers. Entire sectors of the Station are designated as food production centers, constantly churning out nutrients and other necessary amenities that humans and other species require in order to survive. Though Artemis Station does important some food, the structure is entirely capable of sustaining on what it produces if necessary. This means that if the station ever falls under a conflict zone it will not be effected.
Weaknesses:
  • Under Armed: Artemis Station relies on the principal of Neutrality and Free Trade in Order to survive. Though it is technically protected by the combined Corporate Fleets of the dozens of Companies that call it home, Artemis Station is in itself not armed. The station has a varying few amount of laser cannon turrets, small weapon emplacements located all over, however these are mostly to shoot down incoming asteroids or other space junk. There are also a few turbo-lasers for more serious threats. However, the Station could never withstand a siege from a large fleet owned by any Galactic Government.
  • Weak-points: Though it is defended by a heavy Shield generator, Artemis Station has several vulnerabilities. Though these weak-spots are not as severe as certain exhaust systems on other Stations, they are significant in that they could present a serious crux of damage to the station even with a glancing blow from a Torpedo or Turbolaser.
Description:
Artemis Station was created under the continuing design philosophy of Vanir Technologies. This thought is simple, freedom.

Specifically the ability for Corporations and Civilians to live freely without government oversight or stringent regulation. Much like The Foundry, the famed Shipyards created by Vanir Technologies last year, Artemis Station seeks to be a home away from home for many Corporations within the galaxy. Unlike previous 'corporate worlds' like Lianna, Byblos, or Teth, Artemis Station has no real government. Though it was is vaguely overseen by Vanir, the station itself doesn't have the same rule of law, or indeed taxes as a planetary or even galactic government might have.

Though of course the Station has simple laws, IE don't murder, steal, etc, most of the time the corporate residents of the station are left to do as they please, with Vanir Technologies Military arm; Saeva, just ensuring that no one is treated with ill will.

This was the design of Artemis Station and the reason that it was built on such a massive scale.

From end to end the station stretches to nearly ten thousand meters, and it's design is created to suit the needs of hundreds of thousands of people. Upon the station there are dozens of residential zones, commercial zones, industrial sectors, and whatever else you might find on a planet geared towards the production of goods and services. Artemis Station was created with the idea of bringing to it as many companies and people it could.

The station is self sustaining, has plenty of living space, regulates its residents carefully, and ensures complete and total safety.

The amenities of Artemis Station could fill an entire book, and indeed new Corporations and companies set up within Artemis Station almost at a daily rate, new shops being built and old ones being replaced to provide some sort of new service. Business are constantly founded or growing upon the Station itself.

This is of course not to even mention the host of other features the Station has on it. For transport Artemis Station has an intricately laid out web of turbo-lifts and trams that ensure even the poorest residents can get from one end of the station to the other within a hour. Located along this web of transportation are Viewing Areas, Gardens, Hangar bays, docking hooks, and dozens of malls.

One can find almost anything on Artemis Station, as long as they look long enough.

To keep with the stations theme of freedom and less government scrutiny, Artemis Station was fitted with a hyperdrive. Though the massive station is difficult to move, and when it does goes at a snails pace. The Station is capable of making hyperjumps the same way a large starship is. Though in order to do so the Station has to shut down fifty percent of it's power, cutting connection to all industrial and hangar zones before jumping. This process takes time, and thus for Artemis Station to actually jump into a hyperspace window takes about six hours time.

All of this makes Artemis Station a perfect location for a company that not only wants more freedoms, but also privacy.
