Strengths:
  • Well Armed: The Arkuhn Class is an extremely heavily armed warship. The Vessel features everything from long-range turbo-lasers to point defense systems all designed to make the Arkuhn one of the most powerful warships of it's size. The ship can take on most, if not all Star Destroyer and packs enough of a punch to be a threat to even most Battlecruisers. Though primarily focused on long-range combat, the Arkuhn can be extremely deadly at close range, using various Proton Batteries to fire salvos into ship that come alongside it.
  • Control Systems: The Arkuhn is equipped and built around the Vanir Technologies Command Throne. The entire vessel can be controlled by a single person sitting within the throne. This gives the vessel an impressive amount of flexibility, whereas an ordinary ship requires commander and crew to work seamlessly together, the Arkuhn can be controlled with a simple thought of a single person. This increases response times and allows the Vessel to move more smoothly.
  • Vestigial Hangars: When the production of The Arkuhn began it became apparent that the vessel didn't actually have much space to spare. Between crew quarters, weapon emplacements, two power generators, and everything else the Hangar Bays became somewhat...squished. To compensate for that the underside of the Arkuhn is equipped with multiple hook like arms, this allows it to 'grab' and hang onto several Starfighter vessels, increasing its carrier capacity and allowing for flexibility in operations.
Weaknesses:
  • Slow: Unfortunately, with everything that comes aboard the Arkuhn The vessel will inevitably field some back-draws. One of these is it's lack of speed and maneuverability. Though heavily armed and armored, the ship is sluggish. This causes the vessel to suffer against faster and more mobile opponents, not doing well in hit and run tactics.
  • Low Crew Count: The Arkuhn was designed around the Vanir Command Throne, meaning that unlike ordinary warships of it's size the vessel has a decreased crew count. Alongside this the ship has only a few Saeva Marines stationed aboard it. This combination makes the vessel vulnerable to boarding parties.
  • Second Generator: Aboard the back of the ship, near the Control system of the Vessel sits a secondary power generator. In order to actively utilize all the systems aboard at the same time the Arkuhn requires a lot of energy. To meet this need the Arkuhn utilized both the unique BDE-Planck Redistributor and a back-up generator. Due to it's less centralized location, this secondary generator is more vulnerable.
Description:
The Arkuhn Class-Defender was created as the backbone to the Corporate Fleets of Vanir Technologies and Arceneau Trade Company.

Though both Corporations already have a myriad of starships designed to quickly and efficiently protect and guard against incursions, they were missing a vessel that could go toe to toe with most larger ships. Eventually this was noted by Rigor, the droid Entity now running Vanir Technologies, and work was quickly begun within The Foundry to correct this mistake. Arceneau Trade Company was swiftly contacted, and elements of both corporations began work on what would eventually become the Arkuhn Class-Defender.
This vessel was created to be as a deterrent. It's main roll is to inhabit valuable systems or stay near assets in order to dissuade Pirates, other Corporations, and even Governments from attacking Vanir or ATC assets.

To better suit this roll the Arkhun is equipped with dozens of top of the line systems and armed with an almost ludicrous amount of weaponry for a ship of its size. The vessel comes with a prototype reactor designed by Arceneau Trade Company and Mara Tibx, is controlled through a Vanir Command Throne system, and plays a host to hundreds of weapons all designed to stave off attack. The ship can stand toe to toe with most Star Destroyers and even several Battlecruisers.

The ship itself however is incredibly lumbering and slow, against faster vessels it suffers greatly. Due to this the Arkuhn is not a ship that generally travels by itself, even with its larger hangar capacity the ship is generally found within a Corporate Fleet of itself, only going alone when it resides near a Corporate Asset such as The Foundry, Artemis Station, or one of the hundreds of Trade Ports designed and operated by ATC.

Perhaps the most unique feature of the Arkuhn are its odd Vestigial Docking arms. These hook like underside appendages are able to fold out from beneath the hull of the ship, grasping onto Starfighters and 'hooking' them in place on the hull. This augments The Arkuhn's carrier capacity and allows the vessel to bring more ships into battle. These arms vary in size, with the largest being able to 'grasp' a corvette for transport. It should be noted that these arms are not built as tractor beams, and a ship that burns its engines hard enough while still being attached could break the arm.

The Arkuhn simply put is designed to augment and protect the assets of ATC and Vanir Technologies, adding an additional layer of defense for the two companies.
