TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: Multipurpose (Primarily anti-blaster)
  • Weight: 1.4 kg
  • Quality: 5

SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Blaster Resistance, potential blaster reflection.
  • Mild protection from knives and small vibroblades.

Strengths:
  • Blaster Resistance: Being made of Vitafiber, a textile created through sith alchemy for the Sith Empire, the cloak is capable of resisting small arms fire from low power blaster rifles and pistols, even including the potential to reflect the bolt away. This is due to the use of shell spider silk in the alchemizing process, a material already resistant to blaster fire.
  • Slashing Resistance: The fabric is also capable of holding against the cutting of of small vibroblades or common knives. Repeated cutting or stronger blades can get through with some small resistance, making it less than ideal for combat against serious melee opponents but offering protection from less scrupulous individuals.
  • As Always, Style is Everything: The look and feel of the cape is meant to evoke imagery of Queens and Royalty, making it somewhat powerful in appearance. The X factor is everything, making it a cape well suited for inspiring allies and instilling unease in enemies. This is also partly because the fabric is soaked in darkside energy, due to being a hefty fabric of sith alchemy.
  • Somewhat Warmer: While lacking in a proper hood, the cape does offer some small protection from cold winds and weather. Not enough to make a place such as Hoth or Illum easy to navigate, but enough to make a particularly windy or average winter day tolerable on most temperate planets.

Weaknesses:
  • A hefty fabric: This is not a light coat. It's actually very heavy for fabric, making it something of a challenge to maneuver in. Simple acts like running or jumping aren't terribly affected, but you can't exactly expect cartwheels and flips to be successful when you're so weighted down.
  • The Darkside Beckons: While the fabric's darkside taint helps with any fear tactics one might hope to use to their advantage, it is very impractical for stealth. While possible to master the ability of masking your presence and hiding away even while wearing it, the design of the cape is not suited for stealth either. So even should one master the ability, the cloak itself is useless when it comes to stealth.
  • The Gold Chain: The gold chain on the front is non-alchemized gold. A lightsaber or sufficiently strong blade can cut through it.
  • Can't Beat the Heat: Not advisable to wear on desert or volcanic planets. Heat is a real problem when you're wearing thick fabric and furs after all.
  • Lightsabers: Despite alchemy, vitafiber is not lightsaber resistant. Against a lightsaber, the fabric is about as protective as normal silk. Which is to say, not at all.

DESCRIPTION

After searching for an appropriate fabric from which to make her final symbol of her ever returning power, Ariealla Vareldi found none she believed suitable could ever naturally occur in this galaxy. However, this only brought excitement, as she turned to sith alchemists within the Sith Empire to find a new source from which to shape herself a cape befitting her stature. Though not a lord, she had proven she was a valuable enough asset to warrant the use of Vitafiber, a relatively new creation, in forming herself a cloak to match her own personal regalia. To this end the fabric length was fitted to her short stature, fortunately making the length of the hefty fabric shorter than it might've otherwise been, had she been much taller.

That said, the final cape that was presented was weighty for fabric, matching some of the thicker layers of her regalia already, and this was but the start! After all, the cape had to be lined with more comfortable white silk, and a gold trimming along the length, as well as fitted with a fur caplet and trimming along the bottom. Topping it all, a lovely gold chain was attached, locking the cape in place from left to right, holding it steady. All in all, the cape alone was over half her regalia in weight, and somewhat more effective as personal protection if only slightly. As a symbol of her returning power, it worked quite well.

Not only was it capable of partially reflecting and deflecting small blaster fire, or protecting from common knives and small vibroblades coming at her back, but it oozed darkness, making her unnatural aura for (at the time of creation) an acolyte far easier to explain. Of course for an assassin, this was hardly a fitting accessory to wear on the job, but should Ariealla ever need to make a public speech, attend a meeting, march to war, or just terrorize school children on some candy giving holiday for the fun of it, it would be very hard to go wrong with this cape.
