He was waiting.
Waiting for one of the Learners he started to associate with. One that he honestly knew the least. He waited for the young man to come out to meet with him. It would be just the two of them today. Would they train? Maybe. That really depended on how the conversation meant.
Connel needed to know what he could do. He already knew that Dagos was capable, his father had spent a lot of time teaching him. He had already seen Kell at work, so he knew she was capable in what she could do as well. Cartri was the mystery though, and that was fine, it was natural. He wanted to understand Cartri’s strengths and weaknesses, to see how he could fit into the team. Training might reveal his potential, but Connel knew trust and understanding were just as important. This meeting could provide clarity on what Cartri brought to their efforts.
