Description:
After the Gulag Plague the Ssi-Ruuvi "Empire" kept mostly to itself, trying to rebuild it's population and also deathly afraid of dying on an unconsecrated world and being denied entrance to the Fourth Egg, which the Ssi-Ruuvi believed to be the after-life. As such their primary weapon remained to be the Ssi-Ruuvi Ion Paddle Beamer, which they used to disable foes rather than kill them, so they could be used for Entechment, a technological process which the Ssi-Ruuvi used to power ships with people's souls. Eventually however the Lords of the Fringe came knocking and took over the Ssi-Ruuvi Imperium, with Ashin Varanin putting former Chancellor Ardak Serifen as their ruler.
During this reign Ardak Serifen commissioned a new rifle to become the standard of the Ssi-Ruuvi military, the SRR-01. Mixing the lethality of a blaster with the stun capabilities of the ion paddle beamer in two separate barrels it was an extremely useful and versatile weapon, especially considering a lightsaber couldn't normally block Paddle Beamer shots. If calibrated properly, a lightsaber could deflect paddle beamer shots, but would lose the ability to deflect normal blaster bolts, allowing owners of the SRR-01 to always have at least one advantage over a lightsaber wielder. The only issue lied with the SRR-01's extreme size and weight, built with the large Ssi-Ruuvi in mind, but making the weapon extremely difficult to lug around and aim properly for most sentient species.
As Ardak Serifen was Shreeftut however, he was able to commission a specially built SRR-01, downsized to allow for a normal sentient to effectively use in combat without extreme strength or fatigue required. As a result it has less range and ammunition capacity than a normal SRR-01, but Ardak considers it an adequate trade-off for the versatility it commands. Now that Ardak is retiring from his duty as Shreeftut he has been honored by the Ssi-Ruuvi to be allowed to keep the weapon, which will be used as his primary standby as he begins work as a bounty hunter, so that he may fight until death finally takes him.
