The Arasaka Corporation became successful thru weapons' racketeering in Nar Shaddaa and gained a lot of credits thru illegal businesses with various gangs in the Outer Rim and connections with the Hutts. By the time the Arasaka Corporation aligned itself with the Elysium Empire, it began to spread its presence in the Outer Rim and the Wild Space - establishing base of operations here and there, including satellite offices in the Core Worlds and the Rimworlds which actually serves as a spy network within the Galactic Alliance, the Confederacy and the SJC. Although the Arasaka Corporation is new and a nascent company, the corporation itself still has a lot to go to become one of the top corporations in the galaxy.
