Strengths:
+ This droid’s tools can mine through most anything, given enough time.
+ Persistent, and never gives up!
+ Can find most any metal ore quickly, and easily
+ Hard working and obedient
Weaknesses:
-These droids tend to get “catty” with each other. They end up in squabbles and sometimes need a supervisor to be told to stop.
-Not the brightest bulbs in the box, these droids will burn their batteries on an ore, not paying heed to if they can cut through the material they are searching for.
-Can only mine for one ore at a time, must be reprogramed to look for another.

With the rise of mining operations by SocMin Fed and other businesses, James Justice felt the need to have his droid designers create an affordable, mass-produced unit that could adapt to most all environments and mining needs. The result was the APM-5. Most droids within the company have a modicum of a personality, however this one does not. Though spunky, catty, and somewhat territorial, cheerful, and hardworking, there isn’t much for this droid in the personality department. It was made to mine ore, and it does it quite well. Though an supervisor, such as an organic or a droid, is often a valuable need for this unit.
