  • Hyperspace Engine
  • 1 TriLuna 100MGS Stardrive and Hyperdrive System
  • 1 Advanced Life Support Systems, featuring a near-perfect atmospheric air filtering and recycling system
  • 1 Tensor Field Generator and Inertial Compensators, assisting in maintaining the structure of the freighter despite heavy loads
  • 1 Hypermatter Annihilation Reactor (Power Output: > 1.08E24 W)
  • 3 Nubian Creveld-1 Radial Ion Drives
  • 1 Extensive Sensor and Communication Arrays

Structures:
  • 1 Cockpit, the area in which the navigational systems and central control of the ship's propulsion system lies. The Aobozu was constructed so that a single pilot is only needed to control most aspects of the vessel (with exception to control of turrets and finer control of other systems)
  • 1 Crew Quarters, located adjacent to the cockpit, it houses the Aobozu's dedicated crew.
  • 6 Modular Hangars, allowing for the Aobozu to be converted into numerous different types of roles, such as Dojos, Storage Bays, Residential Areas, or Hangar Bays, whether that be as a dedicated infantry carrier, a dedicated colony ship, or a heavy freighter.
  • 4 Underside-Mounted Docking Clamps, allowing for the Aobozu to be hold four starfighters externally or two vehicles.

  • Assembly Cost: 24,000 credits

Description:
The Aobozu-class Armed Freighter was based on the need for fast, mobile freighters to transport goods throughout the galaxy for the Inari Shogunate. However, as the number of envoys dwindled due to the increasingly large combat-involvement of the Inari Shogunate, a self-reliant freighter was needed in order to convey cargo while at the same time protect itself from minor engagements.

The external frame Aobozu-class Armed Freighter is handcrafted by starship-crafters in the Izanami Ironworks, customized to meet the aesthetic demands of the Aobozu's future crew and with no two freighters being the same in design. Every other aspect is standardized and mass-produced, in order to hasten the rest of the production process. Crews of the Aobozu have been known to heavily customize their freighters, treating the Aobozu as their own home.

Each Aobozu can be modified internally to store different types of cargo, whether that be colonists, vehicles, starships parts, or armies. This allows the Aobozu to have a dynamic role within the Inari Shogunate, serving as a ubiquitous role as an economic freighter to dedicated infantry carrier. it has been known for crews of the Aobozu to in fact use the Aobozu as the crux of mobile colonies, spreading the influence of the Inari Shogunate further across the expanses of space.

Development Thread:
  • None

Intent: To create a light freighter for the Inari Shogunate to use for its economic needs as well as general infantry/vehicle carriers for tactical landings on planets.
Primary Source:
  • Gozanti-class Cruiserhttp://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Gozanti-class_cruiser
  • From the Gozanti-class Crusier, the technical specifications and such were derived. Small changes to armaments (four light ion cannons instead of a dorsal twin-linked laser cannon and two twin-linked medium laser cannons) are for aesthetic change only. These changes are in fact meant to reflect a comparable, if not weaker, armament to the Gozanti-class Cruiser. Furthermore, concept of underside-mounted docking clamps are also taken from the Gozanti-class Cruiser.

+ Mobile (albeit very slow)

Slow for a ship this size would be 9 or above. Normal speed for a ship this size would be 6 to 7 with a 4 to 5 being fast.

Speed Guide

With you having light armaments as a weakness You could get the speed and man. down to 3, but you will need to list Speed and maneuverability as a Strength
It would also need to have its production set as Minor for this speed. A mass produced Corvette with speed 3 is just not possible.

Make these changes and the rest looks good.

I have made the changes that you requested, but for future RP usage, I was wondering what Minor would mean for NPCs? It states in the template, "Only Select Groups Of NPCs" and I just want some clarification on that.

[member="Kitsune"] It means you can not have more than like 1 squadron of them at a time that are not PC piloted. Squadrons of this size ship are generally 2 to 4 ships. If you had four or five in a convoy, that would be ok as long as one was a pc piloted one. But you could not have say a dozen NPC piloted ones playing around in battle. With this speed they should more be PC ships and such. Main Line Corvettes would be much heavier armed and armored. Just keep it small on ship count and your good to go.

Ahh I see, would it be reasonable to state that there are hundreds of thousands of them in circulation, however, that are operating throughout hyperspace lanes? This is more for "background" RP, but when used by PCs / in threads, I will keep that in mind!

[member="Kitsune"] What Tier is Izanami Ironworks? To produce numbers like that you would need a considerable amount of resources and contracts. Thousands maybe could be acceptable as long as you stick to the PC/NPC limits of minor. If you were say a tier 4 or 5 maybe tens of thousands but at this size and this speed, the drives would be very expensive and the ships would be hard to produce. Remember the Falcon was only a speed 5 by our chart.

Currently Tier III, and I now understand those limitations. I'll keep it reasonably at thousands RP-wise, and I'll create a new, more standard-issue freighter that can be mass-produced. For now, though, requesting that this be reviewed and seeking approval.

one more thing just to remember. A corvette can not carry more than 1 squadron of fighters.
