Basically, I wanted to see how he'd fit into the Republic given what he is; a monster with little to no emotion that was created in a lab for the very purpose of killing and being an elite force to be reckoned with. He used to serve the Imperials in their goals, but after some time it didn't seem like it was going to work out.
In short, I suppose I'm wanting to explore the darker underbelly of the Republic when they need someone to do the dirty work that no Jedi would touch while bearing ties to the Republic or Order. A contract murderer or special operations individual if you will.
