Any port in a Neural Storm

Beth gave a nod to [member="Griet van Vliet"]. That was an excellent point, actually. Messing with the neural pathways could very well create fake memories. It could likely also create instinctual issues – if a pathway gets cut, changed, or otherwise modified the potential for a misfire to happen in the brain is greatly increased.

Which only meant that a deep understanding of the neurology behind the species – and that persons specific brain – would have to be paramount in the process. A child’s brain is much different than an elderly brain. And some brains have had trauma which have naturally rewired it from the ‘normal’ route.

In either case, Beth was in deep thought as she nibbled her lip. “Yeah. It would have to be very specialized and a lot of tests prior to usage. I would imagine a detailed scan of the patients brain. It seems like it’d be very specific to whomever the patient is. A general, broad concept likely can’t be applied but to specialize it on the individual level may mitigate complications.

And now [member="Beth Cadera"] realized that, even if the method actually was effective in curing neurological diseases, the main bottlenecks she seemed to suggest were perhaps the reason why such a method wasn't widely used. Overcoming them required knowledge that most Force-healers didn't have on hand. I'm sure Janick knows about the likelihood of false memories being formed, whenever she infuses knowledge, but glosses over those because she doesn't personally deal with the consequences of false memory formation. Besides, even though false memory formation is, in fact, a very real possibility, from what I've seen, accidental removal of knowledge is a much greater concern to Memory Rub practitioners, so, in fact, downloading knowledge using Drain Knowledge could be safer neurologically than having it infused, Griet thought, while trying to make her Force-powered intellectual boost last. In fact, she would be led to think that more malevolent dark-siders may have an use for uncontrolled false memories if they needed someone alive for some reason.

"Well, goodbye, thank you Beth"
