Antecedent Kids No Wins

Miss Blonde

Trying to be straight in a crooked Galaxy
Kids. Blonde had them, two boys and a teenaged girl. She knew how precious they were and how they needed to be taken care of above all other things. A parent was the light that was going to guide that young soul through their journey of life, and she'd done a half way decent job of it with her own kids. But this wasn't her kid, this wasn't her flesh or blood. It was someone who stood in her way and fought against her. Now normally the woman would of put two in the chest then one in the head and found a nice comfy ditch to leave them in, but this case was different. The boy was there when she took out Vuhan, he was there and Cyrus would of wanted to kill him, so she took pity on the child and knew that she would take them in.

Was it slavery? No. Was he allowed to leave though? Another no, however there were worse fates than to be held inside a massive casino with your every whim and want taken care of from drugs and liquor to women and lust. Blonde took care of her people and when it came down to it, the kid belonged to her now so she was going to take care of him.

Blonde had arranged a hand off between her crew and the bounty hunter and it had been successful. The crew of syndicate criminals ship broke atmosphere and Blonde awaited at the back of the casino for her prize to be delivered to her. So once the ship dropped down and landed the ramp opened to let the kid walk out where he'd be able to see a short blonde woman in that same gas mask looking at him from behind LED light yellow lenses.

"You afraid, son?" she asked in a gentle and calm voice.

Ruby was still messed up from the carbonite, he was frozen for a long time. When he got pushed down a ramp he fell over. Ruby could barely see and walk. When he got up he saw a face he recognized and a voice that said "You afraid, son?" Ruby looked at her, he then realized he knew her from the temple raid. Ruby was told on the ride to the casino that he'd been sold to her. Ruby looked up at her, she seemed different then the raid, this time her voice calm and soothing. Ruby hoped she had no ill intentions and spoke up "yeah, a little." Ruby's voice quivered a little as he spoke. Ruby had never been a slave, his parents turned into slaves. They got killed because they weren't good enough. Ruby hoped hat wouldn't happen to him.

Blonde let out a small distorted chuckle from behind her mask as she looked down at the boy, she admired the honesty. Most people would of said they weren't afraid and pretend to act hard when they were about to wet themselves, honesty was refreshing to a woman whose world ran on lies and bloodshed. She was already starting to like the kid.

"I'm Miss Blonde, don't call me master, ma'am, or whatever else slaves say. I want you to know that you are not a slave here, you are a guest in my casino and you will be treated as such." Blonde approached the child and knelt down to put a hand on his shoulder.

"Your senses will return to you soon, for now let's get you to your room." Blonde said in that same soothing voice.

"TIM!! GET THE CHAIR!!!" Blonde shrieked at one of her men who was inside the casino.

A few moments later a man with red hair dressed in a black suit and tie approached the boy with a hover chair for him to sit in so he could rest and recover. There was much they needed to talk about and he sure as hell was going to sing for her.

"Come on kid, let's get you inside." The man behind the chair said to Ruby

Ruby just went with the flow, listened to [member="Miss Blonde"] until the chair arrived, he got walked into a room and sat down. Ruby looked around, he only saw blurry bright images. Ruby looked at what he though was Miss Blonde but was actually a lamp and said "so what do you need?" Ruby asked, he wondered why she wanted him in the auction. Most people would take him to kill him or make him their slave. But she just said that she wouldn't want him to do that.

If only the kid could see where he was. The expensive bedspread, the grand décor of the entire room. It was one of their high roller suites and it was absolutely beautiful to the eyes, unfortunately the boy was still getting his back. But at least his mouth and ears still worked and that was a good start for what she needed.

It was clear by the way the boy asked what she needed. That was a good question? What did she need? Well in general that wasn't a question that needed to be answered right now, but what she needed from him was a little different. The first of which would be for him to listen very carefully to what she was going to say to him.

"Do you believe in second chances, Ruby?" she asked but continued on before he could answer.

"I do. But here's the thing about second chances. They are expensive, three million credit, four phrik items, and a crate of Cortosis expensive. Now I'm assuming you don't have three million credits, four phrik items, and a crate of Cortosis laying around, do you?" Blonde said as she paced around the boy in the hotel room.

So why spend that kind of money on him? Well there was one reason to that, the boy was good. He wasn't great yet, but he was good, and young. And when you got them young the possibilities were nearly endless. It was almost like an investment.

"How do you plan to repay me for the money I dropped on you? I certainly didn't do it from the small amount of kindness I have left in my heart." Blonde said as she tapped her fingers on a nearby desk.

Ruby listened to the pacing woman, about second chances and money. Ruby was puzzled by why she bought him, he didn't know why. By then his vision was starting to come back, he realized he'd been staring at a lamp and that [member="Miss Blonde"] was pacing around him. But Ruby couldn't see far, he could only see about ten feet in front of him, the rest was still blurry. Ruby heard the tapping, and turned the chair around to see her awaiting his answer. "I honestly don't have a plan. I mean I could get you some money somehow." Ruby answered, his voice was hard to explain, it was a mix between scared and confused. Ruby didn't know what would happen with him but he started to think she'd give him a second chance, from what she was talking about.

This kid was priceless. The woman let out another little laugh then pulled a chair out from under the nearby desk. Taking a seat she crossed her legs and looked over to the kid, he was a funny little squirt. While she could sit here all night and make dramatic speeches and metaphors, there was business to get down to and the first thing was to address the first reason why she had purchased him.

"Vuhan Chen was an old friend of mine, I say was intentionally of course to describe him in past tense. As in he was alive at one point, he was drawing breath from this galaxy before I put a bullet in him. Now as you know Vuhan was at a very remote location known only by a very select hand few people including myself. So I have a question." She paused for a moment.

"How did you know where the temple was, and how did you get in." Blonde said with a bit more seriousness to her tone.

She wasn't one to be trifled with and if the boy didn't answer than of course she wasn't going to kill him. But the spice mines of Kessel could always use a new worker.

"I don't want you to end up in the past tense as well."

Ruby now had all his vision. The woman he recognized from the Jedi Temple raid. [member="Miss Blonde"] asked Ruby how he knew where @Vuhan Chen was. When Ruby heard the last sentence he gulped. Ruby knew she meant business. "I knew b-because I..." Ruby knew she probably wouldn't believe this part but, he had to be honest. "I felt drawn to it, and my master before me said I had the force so. I think the force brought me there." Ruby was waiting for pain or a bullet through the head or something bad.

The force. The mystic power that bonded them all together in some prophetic crap that they all had to accept. Despite being quite force sensitive herself the woman hated it, she even actively made weapons and armor to fight against its more active users. But perhaps it was the force that brought these two together this day, maybe he was destined in concrete to find her. Whatever it was he was here now and the woman believed him.

"Very well then. Just a few more things." Blonde said very calmly.

"What do you know about the criminal underworld?" this was of course a very important question.

One way or the other the woman was at least going to get a partial return on her investment. So this meant the kid was going to have to put some work in on operations like the one they met in. She needed to know the extent of everything he knew and how make sure he knew how to survive in it.

She knew he could handle himself in a fight going up against Cyrus and surviving, which most people didn't. So that garnered some form of respect from her.

Ruby waited for it when suddenly... [member="Miss Blonde"] just talked, brushing it off. Ruby took a deep breath. Ruby listened, it was interesting. When Ruby heard

Miss Blonde said:
"What do you know about the criminal underworld?"
Ruby didn't know what she meant but he gave it a shot. "well I know it's full of gangs, you're a crimelord of one of those gangs. Umm, blood, money and gambling. Lots of drugs and more illegal stuff." Ruby felt like going honest. "I steal things, I'm technically an outlaw. Also I have a question, how did I get here?" Ruby said all of it fast, he didn't feel as scared anymore. Miss Blonde seemed passive.

"How did you get here as in how did you physically get to this room? Or how did you get here as in what poor life choices have you made to end up in bed that's probably had its fair share of sexual encounters that weren't your own on it?" Blonde said with a chuckle then looked at the kid.

He was a good kid by the looks of him, a little rough around the edges and a thief by self admission, but she still got the feeling he was too good for this world. He had only seen the tip of the madness, he hadn't seen the torture and thousands of bodies this industry claimed every day pulling them down into its dark depths. And it wasn't like anything else, it was its own unique monster.

Governments were all about order and perfection making sure everyone was happy, fighting over light and dark, good and evil. All criminals wanted was the freedom to do what they wanted and not adhere to the governments of the Galaxy and their rules, their system. But Blonde was three mil in the hole for this kid and she had to get something out of it, catch and release just wasn't an option.

So she'd wait for his response then hopefully they could discuss what the next step for him was going to be.

Ruby jumped out of the bed. "BLEH! I mean, how did I get here with you in a casino, or I should rephrase, why am I here." Ruby said, emphasizing the why in the sentence. There was a lot going on. The lights, the casino, the noise. Ruby took a deep breath.

Letting out a small laugh at the kid it was clear that Miss Blonde was fairly easy going at the moment, now wasn't the time to be a hard ass and pretending that you had something to prove. The facts of the situation were the facts and everything was as it was supposed to be, he was here and he would be used to get what she lost back. Hopefully he'd understand that and of course he was free to walk around the casino and explore. But before all that could happen, Miss Blonde had to somewhat answer his question.

"Does it matter? All that matters is that you are here, that we are here, and that this is the situation that is at hand." Blonde spoke the truth and tapped her fingers against the desk once more.

"You owe me your life. But I'm not cruel, so I'll explain everything to you. You are allowed to come and go as you please, but know this. You will be called to pay off your debts through various jobs, if you fail to report to me when called I'm not going to have you killed. I'm going to let you be Surgeon's play thing, and the things I've seen that man do is horrendous. Now do we have an understanding?" The woman said as she continued to tap at the desk.

Ruby looked at her, he understood, loud and clear. "okay, and which one is Surgeon?" Ruby asked, he hoped that didn't get him sent to Surgeon. For he didn't know who Surgeon was. Ruby guessed it was the guy he faced but he wanted to clarify, he looked the room. It looked nice and had quite the balcony. "and yes, I do understand." Upon closer look at the lady he realized she was shorter than him and that she still had the gas mask from last time on. "also why don't you take the mask off, isn't it uncomfortable?" Ruby asked. Ruby suddenly heard shouting and cursing coming from downstairs. Ruby figured someone just lost a game and was now broke.

"Necessity, child. Regret and necessity." Blonde said to the child as she stood up.

The small crime lord looked out to the balcony and her mind briefly touched upon her former actions. The clones, the coup, the innocents lost at Roche. It all stemmed from her, and the boy would be able to feel her discomfort through the force. The woman had a complicated past and she wore the mask to hide that, but it didn't matter anymore, none of it mattered.

"Just don't let me down kid, if you ever need anything from weapons or armor just hit me up and I'll take care of you. Now I'm sure you're tired, and don't worry the bed has been cleaned. We run a tight ship here." Blonde would then walk over to the door, press the panel next to it to open and look once at the child to see if he had anything left to say to her.

Ruby heard it and felt her discomfort. "Okay, well, see you tomorrow then." Ruby said, getting ready to get in the bed. Right before [member="Miss Blonde"] walked through the door Ruby said something. "Thank you... for not making me a slave." Ruby took off his jacket and put it on the floor. "Bye." Ruby walked up to the door and got ready to lock it when she left.
