- A huggable tactical teddy that provides comfort to frightened patients and families of the Antarian Rangers.
- So cute: An adorable stuffed bear that is crafted out of the same material as Antarian Ranger Battle Dress Uniforms. Though it is small, it is capable of calming and comforting even the most frightened of patients. And though it is not a replacement for a family member lost, it can serve as a very powerful reminder of that person’s memory and contribution.
- Waste not: This bear is made from scrap material left over from BDUs.
- Tactical in name only: It’s a soft toy, nothing more.
The Antarian Ranger Tactical Teddy Bear is a small hero, carried into battle by medics. Soldiers and Doctors can be scary, especially to frightened children already shaken by war. Sometimes, just having something to hold can be an enormous comfort.
These bears are generally given out by medics in the field. However, there are a few noteworthy occasions when these bears may be obtained. Medics will occasionally hold “Teddy Bear Clinics” and invite local children to bring their own stuffed toys or grab a new bear friend. The Ranger medics will provide routine care to the child and their stuffed friends as well (stitching up holes, providing new limbs and button eyes, pretend vaccinations, ect). Tactical Teddy may be sold as part of a fundraiser, and it is usually available for purchase at Ranger events.
Sadly, their last purpose is reserved for members of the Rangers that don’t come back from the battle field. Many times, these bears are given to the children of lost Rangers, along with a special memorial patch to place on the bear’s tummy. It is usually given with the Ranger’s tags and any medals he or she may have earned during that last battle.
