Annihilation

War. War was a constant in this tumultuous galaxy. Various powers used it as means of gaining territory, honor or simple pleasure. Yet it was also a source of great profit, which Count Morcus could always use more of. It had been long known fact that his personal asteroid-built space station, Void Station, had been floating near a large, officially uncharted world ripe for resource exploitation. Yet unofficially, a large influx of Kaleesh settlers had established their own society upon the planet, practicing their tribal, warrior-like ways secluded from the rest of the galaxy, bar the odd trade convoy keeping them armed and supplied.

If the planet was to be made use of, however, the Kaleesh would have to be dealt with. Permanently. And who better to do so than one of their own, transformed into a cybernetic killing machine and made a ''perfect warrior'' by the Count. The HKD Corporate Fleet sat in orbit above the world, deploying hundreds of thousands of battle droids onto the planetary surface below. An invasion force at the command of their new ruthless general, Terrus.

Aramus awoke. It did not truly sleep as it had a number of redundant and low level programs always going on in the background, but when sleep mode was active most of its abilities and primary functions were at minimal operation capacity.

Aramus had a new directive.
It came directly from its master [member="Count Morcus"].
It was time for war.

The Count's personal military forces were to be mobilized for war upon the world beneath the Void Station.
Conquest for the resources with which to fuel Hoersch-Kessel Drive works in its burgeoning thirst for growth.

Aramus was part of the mainframe of the Void station, at least for now.
It immediately setup about a dozen different tasks.
Arming and equipping the droids who would go into combat.
Activating the HKD warship which sat in the shipyard.

Aramus then launched several probe droids into orbit above the world below.
Their objective was to provide continuous Geospatial Information of the ongoing situation below which would ideally based on weather conditions give continuous tactical data to the commanders.

Next it prepared the intelligence apparatus.
The two primary commanders of the droid forces would need as much information as possible about the enemy.
Kaleesh were a warrior culture.
It would come to no surprise that Aramus's report, pulled from initial exploratory surveys onto the world below, of the faction warfare taking place below.

Intelligence Report - HKD-A0001
//To [member="General Terrus"]//
//CC Commander ATX-41 [member="Ardross"]; [member="Count Morcus"]//
//Security Level 2//
//Thought for the Day: "It who fears being conquered is certain of defeat"//

//Designation- Unknown world: It is a temperate world within the habitable zone of the system. Its features are similar to that of Kalee. In 840 ABY several colony ships bearing Kaleesh settlers arrived seeking a new world after the disastrous destruction of their home world by an Individual called dredge. The colonists were a coalition of three large Tribes. Shortly after arriving infighting among the colonists was immediate over territorial claims. Armed conflict has been ongoing since 841 ABY. Each tribe is scarcely armed with modern weaponry although they all may be holding these in reserve and relying on cultural primitive weaponry to conduct military conflict. Be advised the tribes are armed primarily with small arms ranging from blasters to shoulder mounted missile launchers. Vehicles or armored weaponry are scarce but again may also be held in reserve. The Tribes use what resources are in their respective territory to sell to smugglers who supply them with weapons and armor.//

//Tribes: All three tribes inhabit the Pangaea continent and their territory extends for vast distances with nomadic encampments as a primary means of living for the populations. There are three permanent settlements, one for each tribe, these are the most fortified and appear to resemble pyramids with developing fortifications around them. Unknown currently the extent of the defenses of each of these locations.//

//Population: A possible 33,000 Kaleesh inhabit this world. Estimates are based on initial colonization population with a possible birth rate of 3.17% per year. Male population eligible for fighting as combatants sits around 12,356. Female population eligible for fighting as combatant sits around 17,769"

//Military Situation: Due to the vast distances and terrain it is likely a protracted conflict will result from asymmetric warfare. Each tribe while in conflict with each other due to cultural and territorial reasons may rally against a common foe. Swift and mobile forces with unrestrained use of orbital support is recommended. Tribal leadership should be quickly eliminated//

This report would find itself available to all three designated recipients.
From there it would be up to them how to proceed.
For Aramus's role was to support them by any means necessary.
Soon the HKD Corporate Fleet would be in orbit readied to unleash full Annihilation on those organics below.

This was once home. And now I am here to bring ruin. Destruction. May those below reach Godhood in death as I have in life.
"General, incoming message from [member="Aramus"] ." A single robotic voice called out to General Terrus amidst his thoughts. The mostly machine Kaleesh had been reflecting on this choice to exterminate the populace below, a populace that was once his people. But he was not one of them anymore. Clad in armor fit for a god, unable to feel pain, fatigue, or even hunger, Terrus had obtained a form his people thought only possible through death. [member="Count Morcus"] had given this gift to him, and in return the General had given his loyalty. If the Count wanted the population dead, they would be.

"Begin playback at once." There it was, that robotic echo that came with the price of godhood. A voice fit for a deity of war and death. Silently he listened to the A.I.'s assessment. Mostly right. But not all the facts were there. A quick press of a button and the General would open a direct line to the A.I. system. "They are all armed with modern day blaster rifles. These people don't use them in their wars as a sign of honor between the tribes, for it is better to die with a blade in your hand then a laser in your gut. The three will band together, as they have in the past, when ever an outside threat comes down."

Another button was pressed, this time tuning in [member="Ardross"] . The General probably should have brought the droid in sooner, but it had slipped his mind until now. "Commander, you'll be taking half the troops the Count has provided for us and attack the tribe by the water. I'll be attacking the one built into the cliff face. Strike quick and hard, and they won't be able to flee to the one out in the fields in time to get them prepared. Once they're forced to this area, orbital bombardment will commence. We'll box them together and wipe them out as quick as we can. You have two hours to prepare your troops and commence your attack, for I will be doing the same."

As expected the General had grown accustomed to giving out orders. That was his job now. The line would remain open should there be any questions, but his voice would no longer travel to the two advisers. Instead, he would be focused on the several BX-Series Droids he had made sure would be under his command. The B1 droids were terrible, and he would have nothing to do with them if he could.

"Gear up and be prepared. We will enter the village from the sky and kill the leader, then the B2's will launch an assault from the sides. B1's will be used for clean up."

"Yes, sir."

I stick with the originals.

The Recusant-class light destroyer was a sufficient vessel.

It had many advantages, like how it only required a crew of three hundred B1 pilot to operate while fourty thousand deactivated battle droids could be stored inside of it.

But it also had disadvantages, like the irrelevant droid brain controlling the ship, which was removed as soon as the ship received its new captain, Ardross.

The droid commander made his way too the hangar of the ship, where one C-9979 landing craft was stored, preparingfor the invasion of the planet. His mechanical feet clanked against the solid durasteel floors of the ship with every step, until they came to a stop twenty meters in front of the landing craft that had its deployment doors open with MTTs gliding into it to be stored into the wings of the massive transport, dozens of OOM pilot battle droids were moving around on the catwalks, calculating where to store items and running diagnostics on the systems. Not just battle droids were being deployed into battle, a staggering amount of one hundred and fourteen AATs were already inside of the craft with their pilots.

If Ardross was human, he would be grinning, but he was not, he was a precise droid tactician that would not fail even in the eyes of defeat. He activated his comlink and set it to the frequency of the droid that would be taking over the ship while he was planetside "Lieutenant, commence scans of the areas within a five mile radius of the settlement for Kaleesh organics, when you receive the designation, begin the orbital bombardment of all Kaleesh you find outside of the main settlement." The commander said in his robotic voice.

He then received General Terrus' transmission "Commander, you'll be taking half the troops the Count has provided for us and attack the tribe by the water.

"Roger roger" The commander responded with.

The invasion had begun.

The Count reclined quietly in his throne aboard the observation deck of the Providence-class Battlecruiser serving as the flagship of their fleet, quietly nursing a glass of Corellian Red Wine as he looked out at the planet below. It would belong to him and his armies, soon enough, and be turned into a new center of industry within the Outer Rim. He quickly pressed a button on the arm of his throne, before speaking directly to General Terrus. ''The time has come for you to cement your place in galactic legend, General. Begin the attack. I've special reinforcements in reserve in case the initial attack waves encounter too much difficulty.'', he said with a smirk upon his lips, sipping from his glass.

A trio of robed dark acolytes in black robes with matching lightsaber hilts stepped forth, before kneeling before the Count. He turned his chair to face them. ''This will be your chance to prove yourselves as well. Serve me well, and I will see to continuing your training and ushering in a new order.....'', he said proudly. The acolyte in front bowed his head. ''We do thy will, my lord.'', he said, submissively. ''Good......good.'', the Count said, sending them on their way before facing the window once more and gazing out upon his future acquisition.

"They are all armed with modern day blaster rifles. These people don't use them in their wars as a sign of honor between the tribes, for it is better to die with a blade in your hand then a laser in your gut. The three will band together, as they have in the past, when ever an outside threat comes down."

Aramus received the response from [member="General Terrus"]. It spent several seconds analyzing the reply before logging it into a learning queue for further pondering.
Aramus processed the tone with which Terrus had replied and the sought to discern what the good general meant by a 'sign of honor' it was illogical to use lesser weaponry as it meant that combat required to be in close proximity to the opponent where a multitude of unnecessary factors existed.
Spending several moments searching through words of similar definition and origin in galactic basic Aramus discovered the word Pride.
It seemed that this pride was perhaps the root of this honor.
Further pondering on this organic behavior would have to wait for now.

Its Affective Computing demanded for it to respond to the General.
<Understood General, I will incorporate this data into my logistors> referring to its deduction and reasoning programs.

Aramus had work in front of it to commence.
While the combatant forces of Count Morcus's army began their orbit to surface operations Aramus moved to deploy the air forces for support in this fight.
Again it sent a message to the General.
<General, recommendation for aerial strike forces to be deployed in support of and as a vanguard for your forces as they land.>
It sent a roster of two air wings each identically organized. 6 HMP Gunships; 24 Hyena's; 48 Vulture's;
While the General would have easily been able to access this information. The method with which Aramus had arranged the air forces was optimized for supporting each landing operation as a means of maximized Aerial Supremacy.

Simultaneously Aramus activated a force of OX9 labor droids. Hundreds of these small droids awoke deep inside the the Void Station.
These droids would begin loading several Superfreighters with the materials necessary to establish facilities on the world below.
Estimated time readied for preparation would be six hours.

Aramus watched over the binary traffic as [member="Ardross"] began to deploy from the Recusant frigate.
Marching orders had been made.
While age was an arbitrary prospect that organics seemed to care about. Aramus found itself examining the code with which the droid was designed with. its own Artificial Intelligence was rivaling and even exceeded Aramus in the ways of military and combat programming.
It decided that to monitor the behavior of both Terrus and Ardross and learn from their abilities would allow an improved understanding in warfare.
Monitoring it's creator, [member="Count Morcus"], though would be for the art known as state craft.

"A legend perhaps, my master. But I want the galaxy to revere me as a God." Such was the way of the Kaleesh after all. A quick press of a button shut off all communication to [member="Aramus"] , [member="Count Morcus"] , and [member="Ardross"] save for the emergency calls that may or may not occur. Such thoughts would be pushed to the back of his mind. His focus would instead be on the mission at hand. The General made his way to the hanger of his ship, a simple freighter, flanked by the same commando droids. Armed with the E-5 Blaster Rifle and simple vibroswords, Terrus and his honorguard would be ready.

The freighter would take off almost immediately, filling the hanger with dust. Authentic trader ship, complete with dust and broken in several places. A perfectly inconspicuous ship. Terrus's eyes narrowed as they began their descent to the planet. Was he feeling conflicted about attacking his people? Yes. Would he? Of course. The ship hit the atmosphere with a bump, though not enough to cause the small group of six any worry.

"Ten seconds till the drop zone. Keep it tight, and zone in on any Kaleesh you can see through the roof. The more we kill when we land, the faster this will be." Terrus slammed the button to the hanger to open the dock. Air hissed as it creaked open to reveal the mountain, and the village below. Ten seconds passed, and the group jumped right out. The howl of the air filled the cyborg's 'ears'. It was an oddly calming feeling as he dropped. A feeling that didn't last all too long.

tumblr_n3zz4igRuw1qibhi9o2_500.gif
With a resounding crash the group of droids smashed through the roof of the chieftain home, followed by the sounds of bone cracking as three of the guards within were crushed underfoot by the iron men. With a press of a button the General turned on his vibroblade, staring right for his prey. The chieftain scrambled for his own weapon, pulling up the old vibroblade.

"You face a god, Kaleesh. Your death will not be swift."

The C-9979 landing craft left the hangar of the Recusant-class light destroyer, beginning its descent onto the planet. Followed by a dozen Vulture droid starfighters, the ship pierced the atmosphere and made a landing a few clicks from the settlement, surely out of sight. If the Kaleesh suspected nothing happening, then they would not be able to retaliate when Ardross' droid army deployed and destroyed them. The transport's massive doors opened and the deploying ramp extending onto the ground.

The MTTs were the first to come out, exiting their storage areas in the wings of the transport, followed by the ATTs, which formed a sort of phalanx in front of the droid transports, then finally the PACs, which would stay behind their larger cousin. Commander Ardross sat in the gunner's position of an ATT that was painted gold and green to signify his command, he had a sufficient view of the coming battle to give out orders to his troops.

"This is Commander Ardross, I am commencing with my assault. Recusant-class Kalani, transmit the scans into my databanks and stand-by for orbital bombardment." He said, with a frequency open to his ship. Ardross received the scans that he requested and took a few seconds to alter his tactics and contingency plans before making a gesture with his arm that signaled the force to move forward, towards the Kaleesh settlement.

A few minutes later the rather large village came into range as the mechanized army came over a hill. Ardross once again used a hand signal and the entire force halted in its tracks. "Vulture droids, while the assault is happening, maintain an attack vector and decimate any organics escaping from the settlement." He ordered the starfighters as many more launched from the Kalani.

"Begin deployment."

Meanwhile, a lone shuttle had descended from Void Station, bearing a trio of Dark Acolytes en-route to the planet below. Their mission was simple, to assist in the battle against the Kaleesh clans by any means necessary. They were soon dropped off behind enemy lines, and proceeded to infiltrate their village, quietly eliminating any unaware sentries as they proceeded further and further in to locate another Kaleesh clan chieftain.

On the main field of battle, however, the Count had deployed another ''ace in the hole'' to thin the enemy ranks. Several Droid Gunships soared above the battlefield and dropped off their heavily armored cargo, a trio of towering B3 Ultra Battle Droids, which began unleashing heavy firepower upon the lightly armed vanguard of the Kaleesh clansmen, causing decimation among them and paving a way for [member="Ardross"] and his forces to continue their march into the main Kaleesh settlement with less harassment from the enemy.

//Initiate Routine 53///
With vast reserve of processing power in the Void Station, Aramus was able to 'reach out' so to speak and observe through the sensory data being fed back and forth between the Droid control brains and chips from the humble B1s to the HMP Gunships.
The Gunships fascinated Aramus. Their semi autonomous like infrastructure of programming allowing them to maximize the capabilities of weaponry, electronics and aviation.
As [member="Ardross"] began it's deployment, vulture droids were given directives, the HMP's were given the name Predators for a reason and it amused Aramus to note that when this particular order was given only for the Vultures to deploy in assistance the Droid Gunships growled in binary as though they were itching to fight.
Soon though soon.
Aramus however deployed a wing to begin bombing and massacring the outlying villages of tribe in the cliff face.
First a squadron of vultures would make strike runs, peppering huts and prefab structures causing light damage, enough to stir the village and rouse everyone out in a panic.
While chaos ensued and Kaleesh warriors scrambled to grab rifles and missile launchers and whatever else they could chuck into the sky at the enemy another contemptuous strike would come from high up in the sky.
24 Hyena bombers in a V formation began dropping bombs from an altiude of 2300 meters.
With a little less finesse of accuracy the job was done well.
The bombs exploded all around and in the village of perhaps a few hundred organics.
Heeping more misery upon these souls Aramus had the 6 HMP Gunships circle around the village from about five miles out or so and then closed in slowly.
A torrent of laser fire pummeled and blasted apart those who would rise from the rubble or even attempted to resist.
Children, females, males, elderly it didn't matter to the programming of the Predator simply that it had its orders and could freely destroy targets thus fulfilling its purpose.
The death of the organics was intriguing, Aramus would save the combat footage for later and also access the droid brains later on when it was time to update their software.

//Initiate Routine 721//

Simultaneous tasking was an art that Aramus would one day master.
So far it had it down in milliseconds but that simply wasn't good enough in accomplishing tasks.
Eventually Aramus would grow and improve.
A thought or really a reminder for Aramus was to ensure that the Resurrection Server was readied at full capacity.
It was a project that Aramus was working on after acquiring Cybot Galactica.
The idea behind it was that for sentient or exceptional droids and programs that a central server would exist in the event that their physical bodies get destroyed.
The consciousness or Memory of those marked for performing well could be downloaded upon destruction to this central computer and then uploaded into a new body.
Essentially giving immortality to those autonomous and semi autonomous programming.
It would also exist as a central databank of previous Operating Systems in the event of software issues or corruption in programming.
For now it would only be used for the expensive and high end droids so as to ensure continuation of quality.
In the long long though Aramus would eventually be processing the data of the thousands of B1s allowing them to perhaps improve and grow.
Of course that would be at the behest of [member="Count Morcus"] and [member="General Terrus"] on if it ever got that in depth.

"I told you, Chieftain, your death would not be swift." The General spoke, the mangled body of the Kaleesh chieftain lifted in the air by a single robotic hand. He gurgled on his own blood, trying to say something, anything, in retort to this monster. But nothing came. He had lost his fight in mere moments with this cyborg creation, bones broken throughout his body. His right arm was twisted back and shattered, bone sticking out here and there. Gods, did that hurt. Well, all of it did hurt.

But at least it was over.

A single crunch signified the neck of this once proud warrior's final bone was broken. Carelessly Terrus tossed the body down, looking to his armed escort. "Are the droids in position?"

"Yes, they are."

"Then begin."

The sound of blasterfire was deafening. All around, throughout the whole village, the red bolts of the B2 Super Battle Droids ripped through those who resided inside. Every home was systematically destroyed, save for the hut the General resided in. Once all the homes were blasted through, Terrus and his armed escort stepped out and the firing stopped. Around the city in a ring were his preferred army. At least these upgraded ones were effective. As he stepped through the town he saw a single female who seemed to be alive. As she started to crawl away from him, it became clear she actually was alive. With a single, loud crack he stepped on the back of her head, and ended her pain.

"Send in the B1s. Clear up anyone, and everyone, you find." Ah, there it was. The clear cut advantage of droids. They followed orders, and there was no morality involved that could prevent them from carrying it out. "Get me a line to [member="Ardross"] and [member="Aramus"] . I'm prepared for the remaining village, or curious to see if it's already taken out."

Meanwhile, the Count's acolytes had been busy infiltrating the other village. After eliminating any sentries and watchposts, they sent a secure message up to Void Station. ''The landing zone is clear. Your good to arrive.'', one of them said through his holo-communicator to a robed figure on the other end. A lone shuttle soon soared over the village, extending it's boarding ramp mid-flight as several Magnaguards leapt down skillfully, before being joined by the Count himself.

They quickly moved further into the settlement, before coming upon the reinforced wooden gates of the Warlord's small fortress. ''Allow me.'', the Count said with a sly smile. His acolytes and magnaguards quickly backed away as the Count closed his eyes. He began channeling the dark side within himself, before unleashing a powerful force push which blew the wooden door to chunks and splinters, sending several Kaleesh who'd been holding it closed flying across the Warlord's great hall. Several squads of Kaleesh surged forth from out of the broken gateway, but the Count quickly drew his cross-guarded lightsaber and cut them down mercilessly. He then spoke through his communicator. ''Terrus, I have the other chieftains secured at the other village. I will await your arrival.....''

Aramus's did not genuinely have its own voice, accent or any sort of distinctive markings to tell if it was Aramus.
Organics though associated particular tones and pitch's to one another.
in this case the gruff but harsh sound of the General's voice was in contrast to quiet but stern tone of the Count.
Aramus had been listening to the communications traffic. Or well listening in a broad sense of the meaning.
The A.I. monitored the situation on the ground.
Ardross had begun its full on assault with its droids.
The Kaleesh settlement had a fortified wall around it with the village proper extending out onto the body of water itself.
Aramus taped into one of the orbital probe droids it had laid out around the planet and took a gander at the village.
It looked as though the settlement had gun emplacements.
Unlike the Kaleesh tribe of the cliff who relied on the natural defenses as a bulwark against enemies.
The tribe of the water was much more open about its security.
Aramus pondered whether this could be the undoing of the tribe, for the super tactical droid held so much firepower at the tips of its circuits.
