Weaknesses:
-Limited strike capability-While the ship carries a decent amount of physical ordnance, once that is used up it has nothing but 2 autoblasters mounted in the wingroots to defend itself with.
-Ray shielding, what's that?-Outside of the hull plates there is no defense against physical projectiles that get close enough or are unguided.
-Very low defense when shields are down- Once the shields go down, anything more than a glancing from a powerful enough weapon would be bad news.
-Exposed weaponry-The hardpoints are mounted 2 per wing and one centerline, outside of the shields there is nothing protecting them from a hit.
-Short range ECM- Though the phantom 4x is able to be utilized actively, the ability to jam comms was removed in favor of the ability to confuse a wider range of tracking and targeting systems. In addition its range was diminished slightly as a result, this did not lead to an increase in strength.
-Enclosed cockpit-The cockpit is covered by the same materials as the rest of the hull, meaning that the sensors feed data to an internal panoramic display system. If knocked out the pilot will be flying blind until the system can be repaired.
Description:Another fighter that was drawn up while bored, and possibly drunk. Pulling from a wide variety of fighters, Kurayami liked the strike capability of his craft tuned to do so, but disliked the fact that they were unable to engage after in an air superiority role. This was an attempt to fix that. In addition to high speed and maneuverability, it boasts molecular shields, making sure it can loiter once its ordnance has been used up. Granted anything outside of a strafing run or anti-starfighter role at that point would be, well suicidal to put it kindly. Reason for this being that once the ordnance is gone its only form of offense lies in two Gyrhil 72 twin autoblasters, so good luck doing large amounts of damage there. The issue with the modular hardpoints is pretty obvious as they are mounted two under either wing and one on the centerline and are rather exposed. A direct hit on any munitions carried there would be a bad thing for the craft, and the pilot as well. Best case, you lose about half the ship, worst case you become part of the floating debris field. Besides the shields the only defense of the ship lies in its speed and maneuverability, provided by two thrust vectored P-sx7.4 twin on engine units and etheric rudders. Sporting an enclosed cockpit to provide the pilot with a greater amount of protection, there is a panoramic display system that projects all vital tactical and visual data on the inside of the canopy. While great in theory, if the systems go down then the pilot is flying blind, which is not recommended. The craft is painted in his usual mottled grey/sand yellow color scheme, with the '013' prominently displayed on the nose and vertical tailfins.
