• Advanced AI ECM Integration: What sets the Ankou apart from many other vessels filling a similar niche is the massive network of computers, droid brains, and systems networked together to create a complex and extremely effective ECM 'field' that it uses to defend other, sometimes much larger, vessels. This field is several dozen kilometers in size and is extremely effective at disrupting enemy capital ship firing patterns, torpedoes, and fighter craft. Much of the machinery that goes into this ECM 'field' is located in the ship's 'blade' facing down at the fore of the ship.

• Tech Sorcery: The Ankou-class Escort Frigate can create a several dozen kilometer bubble of ECM interference. It can use this to scramble the targetting systems of enemy craft and missiles to both protect itself and its allied ships. Most of the interference is automated by a collection of droid brains and computers maintained and operated by an advanced on-ship AI dedicated to the task.
• Home Away from Home: The Ankou-class Escort Frigate is fully equipped for multi-year long deployments. On board hospitals, dormitories, and storage bays assure that it and what ever fleet it is supporting stays equipped, healthy, and fully maintained while in the field.

• ESCORT Frigate: The Ankou-class Escort Frigate is not designed for solo operation, and will rarely be able to overpower ships of a similar 'weight class'. The advanced ECM on board may allow the Ankou to escape, but rarely win a one-on-one engagement.
• Noticable: The Ankou-class Escort Frigate is just as notable as most ships, but even more so when its ECM field is active. Whenever it activates its primary function it's very difficult to mistake for anything else.
  Bio-Weaponry: The Ankou-class Escort Frigate was designed in an era of conventional warfare, where bioships and the like are rare sights. Biological weaponry and ships are uneffected by the Ankou's signature ability: its advanced ECM.
