Private Anger Management

The private training room was still and quiet. Too quiet. Cora sat in the centre of the room, meditating. Deep breath in… and out. Clear your mind. Relax. Her eye shot open. “Where is he?” This was supposed to be her first training session with Diarch Reign Diarch Reign . Organised by High Commander Laphisto Laphisto , these sessions were to help her learn to control her rage and utilise her darker force abilities without letting them take hold of her on the battlefield. Only one thing was missing. “He’s late.”

It wasn’t like the elder Diarch to run late to things. Maybe something more important came up? She stood up and began to pace the room. He is a busy man after all, they both are. Continuing to pace, she could feel her body temperature rising. Her brows furrowed a bit. The least he could do is send somebody to inform me.

More time passed, and Cora was losing what little patience she had left. I don’t get it. Laphisto said these lessons were of utmost importance if I were to join a field team on the ground. Why would the Diarch leave me hanging like this? She huffed as she sat back down abruptly on the cold floor, folding her arms and legs in tight. Her eye fixated on the door, waiting for any sign of movement that would indicate his arrival. Still nothing.

A few more moments went by before she had decided she’d waited long enough. Cora let out a burst of energy through the Force in frustration. Like a shockwave it extended from her position outwards, pulsing throughout the Station. It was accompanied by her scream of rage, raw and unfiltered. That release helped her feel better. But only a little. She still felt as if her time was being wasted, sitting in the training room alone without a teacher. Awaiting her first of many lessons to control the rage she’d just released.

She closed her eye again and sighed.

Reign was late. But this time it was intentional, the High Commander had come to Reign to speak about Cora’s rage. Judging correctly that the Diarch would be able to help teach her control.

He was walking the corridors of Aurora Station, A place he visited far too infrequently, when he felt it. A tremor in the force, he cocked a small grin as he turned to the private training room.

He had hidden himself in the force so that his new pupil would not sense him coming.

Pausing in the doorway he said

“You are not off to a promising start my friend”

It wasn’t long after her outburst that Diarch Reign Diarch Reign stepped into the training room. Cora almost knew exactly what he was going to say before he opened his mouth to address her. He seemed almost amused at her plight, although she doubted that the High Commander of the Lilaste Order would share in his sense of humour.

She looked down at her feet in embarrassment. The whole point of her being here, the whole purpose of this training, was to learn to control the dark side of the Force that would otherwise consume her, and she had already failed. Anger swirled around inside her. Day one and I’m already a disappointment.

Biting her tongue, she turned her gaze up toward the Diarch. “Forgive me, Lord Reign.” Then she bowed her head, “It won’t happen again.” She assured him. This was her first time meeting the older Diarch face-to-face. Of course, she’d seen him around the Station before, but as first impressions go, this was turning out to be a poor one.

Great, I have somehow appalled both leaders of the Diarchy before they get to know me.
She thought back to her first interaction with the younger one, Diarch Rellik Diarch Rellik , and her arrogance in their first training duel together. I wonder what this one’s report to Laphisto Laphisto will say. Her features scrunched up tight and she gritted her teeth in frustration, knowing that everything she did, every movement she made, was under the keen watchful eye of the dragon.

Clearing her throat, she tried to relax herself a little and clear her mind. That was usually step one in any kind of Force training anyway. “Alright,” she started, “I’m ready to begin.”
