An Unrealistic Idealist's Ideas

Diysuperguy33

The title is me in a nutshell. But there are rare occasions where I come up with a good idea/inspire others. Don't expect anyone to read/care about this, but I'm writing it anyway.

Ideas

  • Set up an Admirality, one that is seeable and useable by people (Especially since the staff are trying to make fleeting more approachable and a 'bigger' thing)
  • Jedi force controlled place thing planet. This is going to be a pain to explain. It's pretty cool though, so sorry in advance if there are any issues with it. So I'm thinking we do a fair few dev threads, we have a 'haven' of sorts for the Jedi (or just the alliance), it could be force locked and sensative so only the jedi could enter (It's appeared in the clone wars on a smaller scale, but I cannot find any documentation on it). It would be an all in one command/haven/super structure. Used for many many uses, It would be among the most protected planets/space stations amongst the Alliance. (Honestly it would of been 2 a4 pages of text, for this idea. But I'd rather not bore you)
  • *Cough cough* Create and equip the faction with new upgraded ships *cough cough* My company will hopefully get approved soon :)
  • Set up a similar system to the empire's Moff and Council Of Moff's. To aid in the defence of friendly systems.
  • I reckon we should do some advertising to expand the Alliance. The issue with a vast majority of our expansion, is that it's via conquest/war. Why don't we offer governments stuff/advertise and promote? Do things that would make this a significantly larger force. Would be interesting then for wartime (seeing as their is a couple of hostile major's) It could very well lead to a large collection of interesting rp.
  • I don't know about you guys, but I love my strategy and stuff, and would love seeing some of the 'behind the scenes' stuff. But there are some complications to that...
  • At the moment this alliance, to me at least. Seems like a 'get together when the time is right/needed' kind of thing (as in participate in big things, don't worry about the other things), perhaps make it more about it being a life and service to. Aside from conquests and rebellions there are other things factions do. Look up info on nearly any of the major factions in the star wars universe and you'll hopefully be flooded with examples.
Again, as the tittle states I'm an Idealist, I invent and come up with stuff. The actual working of things unfortunately isn't in my control ;/

But yea, I suppose that's my 'burst of creativity' for now. I'm sure there will be more to annoy you all with soon. Perhaps I should start a blog about them. xD

These are some good ideas here that you have and we can definitely see what we can do to implement them. We already sort of have Moffs, in the form of the Governors of the worlds. Don't think we'd need another level of leadership that way.

Can you elaborate some more on what you mean by advertising to expand?

Hi there! Always good to get new ideas and input :D

A list of characters to contact to get involved with fleet battle? That could be done

You're thinking something a little more small scale that the existing Sullust Temple?

Please expand on this? Out aim with the faction has always been to be player driven, not admin driven. If people want to make such a group they can do and add it to the sub-unit roster.

Could you turn this into some kind of suggestion that could be acted upon?

Yes It's pretty much that. More explained, but yea, (bigger scale though and It'd be classed as a space station)

It's kind of just adding another aspect of defense for fleeting. If there is an attack/raid/war/whatever on a planet, we would roleplay bringing more defense to that planet aside from the stations. If we could add a system, stating that this fleet is in charge of this sector, I think it would seem more realistic, then what we currently do. (This is likely my strategies side talking) Because right now, or as far as I've been taught. We have a list of ships and you can choose as many or little from that list as you want (unless specified) So it's kinda strong and unfair, especially if there are opposing players who wish not to. If we say that you are in charge of the 5th fleet and in charge of protecting this sector with this fleet. It kinda adds a whole new tier of roleplay to it all ie probe/scanning system, over thinking it up on the spot which often goes to the writers discretion which they may or may not subconsciously tip it in their favor (and this is honestly no one's fault. No one can honestly say they like loosing). Anyways I'm getting off track. If we have a forum stating our fleet positions and who defends them. Well, it's something we can go to, over magically pulling ships out of our asses and defending our planets with 10 mega fleets, perhaps something can be said to value about a specific number of ships ordered in regards to his revamp of the fleeting system.

Well, the way we currently get planets (As far as I can tell) is if someone roleplays a governor (person in control of planet) and they willingly want to join us, which is a more player decided system which is iffy. Other then that you can go the warmonger's path (which the ga won't do). If we have a set of roleplays where we send 'diplomats' and roleplay them spreading the word of the ga, going to see the government people (perhaps a few NPC's here and there). It would then be fair (in my opinion) to make the case to a roleplay judge, as to why that faction would join us. The 'advertising' would be classed as the dev thread. Do you want more elaboration?

Not really, and even saying this sounds strange. But if you've watched the clone wars and or read a fair few of the books. You see what a faction does, they are doing everything and not just the ones that we do now that we deem to be the most 'fun' (this has it's pro's and con's). There are diplomatic missions, engagements, rebellions, conquests, plant life issues, issues with senators and a lot of significantly smaller things that I could go into detail about. We currently focus on missions, engagements, training. Where are the other things? We go and do the things we all love doing yet we leave a fair bit of what makes a faction a faction. Now since I'm the first to complain I don't honestly expect change cause most if not all like the system. just because I love comparisons, here's how I think of this; you have a plate of food, say bangers, mash, vege and I don't know, something else tasty. You wouldn't just eat the meat knowing it's your favorite. You would also eat the things you perhaps didn't like ie veges. Point being we may not like things but it's there and it adds to the realisim of the whole thing.

Half of my threads are diplomatic in some way. Jamie, [member="Ajira Cardei"] and whenever Marcello returns from LOA, all represent Naboo. Others do diplomatic things as well. Not everyone cares to participate in these types of threads though, and actually, I would venture to say many people don't, otherwise it would be a bigger presence on the board instead of competitive invasions where most of the time it's war writing. It's a niche topic, like fleeting. If you want to do diplomatic RP nobody is stopping anyone, but not everyone is going to start threads for it. If it's something you want to do I'd suggest being the initiator for it.
