Planet Denon
There are just some stories that you have to do in-character, to really get it.
Lynette stood in the old cobblestone square just outside the south university campus. Once the home, yet now shuttered, to the Denon Academy of Science. A centerpoint and an adventure hub to many, many legendary tales.
She stood in the warm summer breeze looking up at the tall stone towers of the ecumenopolis' most lavish, most revered university. The hot wind blowing through her hair. Looking up at a sprawling cathedral skyline of endless utopian libraries and academical architecture. Her eyes remembering and her warm hands contemplating. All because of what this place used to mean to the heroes and villains who once called this place, "home."
The secret seaside base had been removed and renovated. The A.I. towers that once stretched deep into the sky had been pulled down. The Netherworld Machine had been salvaged for shipping parts and the Virtual Arena had been almost decommissioned completely. The whole South Campus looked like a perfectly groomed ghost town. Covered in red "No Trespassing" ribbons and adorned with new orange street cones to redirect the student bicycle traffic. The magic was gone. Yet the spinklers still remained. Popping up ever now and again to water the open green lawn and remind the campus presidency that some hope for a new future still remained. Alas. For the Jedi, the Sith, and the White Council of old. The last page of a dusty old tome had finally come to a close.
Lynette stood in the old cobblestone square. Just outside the closed south campus university. Once a home to heroes. Yet now shuttered in door and window and secret passageway alike. A centerpoint and an old book of adventures. Now closed and lost to time.
Yep. There are just some stories that you have to do in-character, to really get it. For Lynette, and all the crazy blue, blonde, black, pink, green, and red-haired people that came before her. This, was surely one of them.
A perfect ending to begin with.
