An Arrow to the Knee. (Caedyn/Yuroic)

Well, it was finally time to see what Asaraa's boyfriend was made of. He had threatened the boy awhile back about training with him, Asaraa then warned that there might be an arrow piercing Caedyn. Yuroic wasn't so sure, he thought there might be more than one arrow involved but he had keep quiet on that. However, he was very interested in seeing what the son of Veiere Arenais had to show for himself in combat. Veiere was a capable Jedi himself, while Caedyn wasn't a Jedi, he had training in fighting and the Force so be curious to see what he could do. Yuroic had sent a message to meet out of the Temple, just the two of them. It could have been seen a slightly threatening message, meeting someone who said if you hurt their daughter they would kill you, but Caedyn had proven to be a loyal and good boyfriend from Yuroic could find at least. Admitting his background checks had been thorough so there was something to respect there.

However, it was more to keep away from prying eyes, by prying eyes, Yuroic meant Asaraa's. Good as his daughter was, she could be seen a distraction to them during their training, either through offering help or attempting distract Yuroic from giving it his all against Caedyn. So, away from prying eyes, in a small clearing not too far away from the Temple, Yuroic stood waiting for Caedyn. He had a variety of wooden weapons for Caedyn to choose from, in his hands, Yuroic held two wooden swords. Light and perfect length for him, it was good. The weather was clear and sun shining, so it was a good day to spar.

Caedyn had so far enjoyed a good couple of weeks since having moved into the Silver Rest, full-time. Most unexpectedly, his father was also part of the Order of the Silver Jedi nowadays, something that he honestly had never seen coming, and yet somehow this had only confirmed his decision to let go of his attachments to the Je'daii Enclave of Svivren and the other Je'daii worlds such as Aurum, to make a place for himself where there were still people who were willing to accept him for his differences, both good and otherwise.

The majority of the Je'daii had chosen to take to deep space on an endless voyage where they could further commune and practice their ways of the Force away from the constant warring of factions across the known Galaxy; while some of them might pop up from time to time, able to leave the Praxeum Vessel that his father had contributed to their new found purpose, Caedyn hadn't heard from his former Je'daii Master in a good number of years now and this was essentially what had led him to give up hoping on the past, to turn and look to the future and define a new path that was to be his. Naturally, having [member="Asaraa Vaashe"] around never swayed his decision. Not at all...Honest!

In any case, he had been taking a casual stroll about the Temple halls when his Datapad chimed, announcing a new personal message being received. Freeing the device from his utility belt, he tapped the screen a number of times until the message came up and he read it quietly to himself, his brows rising slowly as he realized who had sent it his way. Something of a chuckle rose up and out from his throat as he wondered what exactly [member="Yuroic Xeraic"] wished to speak with him about. He'd been good, as far as he and Asaraa were concerned...-Unless he'd found out about Naboo, though he doubted Asa would...-No actually, she probably would tell him. Those two were rather close and it was always heart warming for Caedyn to see them together, Asaraa having told him that she didn't really have much experience when it came to family outside of the Silver Jedi. Yuroic definitely fit the bill though.

I'm on my way, Master Xeraic.
He replied simply, calling upon Yuroic by title; he was Asaraa's father after-all! Already up and about for the day, he was dressed in what he believed was suitable apparel and hopefully nothing the older male would give him crap about (in a smart or playful way!), his Lightsaber also attached to his belt via magna-lock as he was rarely without it. Picking up the pace a little, he moved from a swift walk into a lightly paced and relax jog, hoping to make good time and not keep the man waiting too long before he reached the clearing and Yuroic Xeraic came into view.

"Hey" Caedyn smiled as he slowed to a walk until he was within arms reach of his superior, "Is everything alright?" he asked uncertainly, looking for some sort of hint as to what was going on. His eyes eventually scanning the weapon racks, all of which were wooden and obviously used for training purpose. His smile slowly shifting into something of an excited and confident smirk as he glanced back to Yuroic approvingly.

Seeing Caedyn arrive, Yuroic nodded his head to the boy. Looking Caedyn over, Yuroic attempted to assess the strengths, weaknesses, preferred fighting style and what style would suit someone of his build. Years of training and practice against others had given some insight but he wasn't perfect at guessing what people learnt from just eyeing them. He could tell that Caedyn was a user of a single bladed Lightsaber, though a quick glance at the Lightsaber could inform a person of that. It was interesting to see how Je'daii trained differently to Jedi in terms of combat, if there were different forms, styles or if there were similarities. Yuroic threw one of the swords he held to Caedyn to catch, it would be interesting to see if he caught with his main hand or his off hand.

Yuroic held his wooden sword in his left hand, it was technically his off hand but he trained so much with his left that he was better than many with his off hand than they were with their main. It was necessary so that he was skilled with his two Lightsabers and didn't find himself at a disadvantage using his off hand. Twirling the blade around, Yuroic studied Caedyn closely, he found out about his and Asaraa's trip to Naboo. It was hard to keep Asaraa from talking about things she was excited by and a surprise trip away with her boyfriend was something she did not shut up about for a long time. It wasn't hard to find out that it was Naboo that they went to, however, they were gone a week and Yuroic refused to learn about anything more that had happened during that stay. In his mind, he knew that they were happy and moving forward was good, but he also liked the idea that it was a platonic trip between friends. Jairdain would tell him off for being foolish as he was a lot more experienced in that sort of thing by their age, and he should be more understanding.

"I hope you enjoyed Naboo, planet can be quite picturesque. Thought we could do our sparring session today, maybe get to know one another better without Asaraa looming over making sure I am not trying to riddle you with arrows." Yuroic joked as he gave a smile before settling into a firm defensive stance, waiting on Caedyn to make a strike. Wouldn't be fair if Yuroic lead the fight with his level of skill in melee combat. "So tell me, what made you decide to become a Je'daii not a Jedi like your father or learn from your mother?" Yuroic asked curious about Caedyn's path, where it started to where he planned to go.

Caedyn caught the wooden training sword with his right hand, his primary hand, though he too had been taught to fight ambidextrous. [member="Yuroic Xeraic"] soon commenting on his recent time on Naboo as if he were reading Caedyn's mind, though his mental defense had been built up over his years of training and no feeling of mental invasion led him to assume it was merely coincidental; "I was just wondering if she had told you or not" Caedyn replied with a bit of a sheepish grin, "It was well worth the credits" he added. He hadn't been on a trip like that before, quite literally renting a massive lake and surrounding land to camp upon and provide for themselves. Fishing, hunting and cooking along with Asaraa Vaashe there to enjoy the peace and beauty of the land together. It really had been a perfect getaway.

"A sparring session sounds good to me" Caedyn agreed, "Be nice to put a sword to use in an environment with a much more forgiving climate than what happened on Umbara" he added, soon rolling his wrist, spinning the wooden blade in a full vertical circle in order to gauge the weight of it. Truth be told, it wasn't all that different from his Bo Staff; it too could be disconnected in the middle to produce a pair of smaller batons. While it was true that he did prefer a single bladed Lightsaber, Yuroic might learn that the young man had a good deal of experience in a variety of combatant weaponry. Stav Kesh had been his primary study, after all.

"My father organized it" Caedyn soon answered, Yuroic having posed the question as to his beginnings with the Je'daii Order. It was rather genuinely pleasing for the man to take such an interest in his background, truth be told; Caedyn hadn't been asked about it before from anyone outside of Asa herself. "Dad had met my Je'daii Master before, and he had restored and donated the Silent Enclave on Svivren to the Je'daii Order long before I came around" Cae explained as he began to move, walking counter-clockwise from where Yuroic stood, giving the training blade a couple swings while his eyes remained on his sparring partner. "He didn't want Lori or me to be swayed by his or our Mom's views on the Force. Said it was up to us to make up our own minds...-So he invited [member="Asha Hex"] to our home on Commenor one day and I guess that's where it all started for me".

The younger males stance was loose, and his step lightened as he gradually picked up the pace, looking to warm himself up somewhat as he stepped in and out from where Yuroic was positioned. Never once did he get within striking distance as he did this but rather studied the mans body language and looked to gauge how on edge he was, how quick to raise his defenses. He couldn't help but grin to his opponent, the challenge and the competition setting the basis for what was to be the start of their training match together.

Caedyn stepped in once again as he had done so several times by now, yet this time he added another swift side step to Yuroic's left closing in further, his right hand driving the training sword ahead of him in what would be a plunging stab where it to connect with the Jedi Master's chest. The attempted strike was a single-handed blow, leaving his left hand free and with the space around them both, there would be plenty of room to withdraw if needs be. The first step in his plan however, was to test his opponent and to try to read his form and his mannerisms before truly committing to the fight.

A eyebrow raised as Yuroic looked over to Caedyn, "well worth the credits? Must be nice to be flushed with money." Yuroic was somewhat jealous, he grew up with nothing, he was a slave and small time smuggler that barely had enough to eat yet along go on big trips like Caedyn could. Privilege was something Yuroic never had, he had to work hard to even get to the old Silver Jedi Order temple. From there he had to fight to prove himself when others were clean, smart and able to read when Yuroic couldn't read or write. Gripping his sword tightly, Yuroic exhaled slowly, "sorry for my comment, I wasn't wealthy or had much when growing up. I used to be a slave, the Twi'lek who owned me wasn't the nicest of people either." Yuroic stated as he watched Caedyn slowly.

"Forgiving environment? Must be thinking of the wrong Master there. I push my opponents to their limits, testing them in more realistic setting." Yuroic stated in a cool tone as he watched Caedyn circle around and judge Yuroic himself. There wasn't much he knew about the Je'daii so he was interested in seeing what Caedyn had to show. "If I go easy on you, be forgiving, then you will won't be ready when your opponents use dirty tricks, cheat and push you. I teach people to survive, it's not pleasant and I don't like it but when out on the streets in Nar Shaddaa, you won't have one opponent duelling you. Your opponent might spit in your eye, try blinding you or switch weapons mid-duel to make you stumble. Fair and honest duels are very rare." Yuroic explained before he listened to Caedyn talk about his path to becoming a Je'daii.

Yuroic nodded his head, it was good to let the children choose their path and find their ways. Yuroic hadn't decided what he would do if him and Jairdain had children, it would be fair to let them choose but hard to find them more than the Jedi path to follow, at least for now. "What is the Je'daii way? What did you learn about the Force, about the galaxy as a Je'daii?" Yuroic asked curious, becoming a Jedi taught him more than just the Force, showed him how the galaxy works outside the criminal underworld, how people should be treated. Showed him problems with the Jedi way as well, but problems he could cope with, the unwillingness to let innocent lives die made it tough to save those who either don't want to be saved or willing to kill for no real reason but to see the world burn.

The plunging strike was easy to predict, the shift in balance, the movement of legs to get the plunge forward while being surefooted. It was easy to block, parry the strike to his chest. His left hand holding the sword firmly, his right blasted a Force Push at Caedyn's chest. The plunge left him exposed to a Force attack, be interesting to see the boy's attempt to avoid being blasted into a tree. His left hand twirling his blade, Yuroic stood and waited again.

The single-handed blow was parried away, the beams of their training blades clacking in sound, the hilt within his hand vibrating as the dull *'thwack!'* sounded their parting. The Force surged in that moment and Caedyn's mind was drawn to [member="Yuroic Xeraic"] as the lad stepped on through, passed his opponent as he had been fended off effectively; the immense build up of power however sudden, caught him by surprise. He didn't realize that his sparring partner was intent on using the Force in their sparring match and thus he turned just in time to reach out with his left hand in a desperate attempt to block the wall of telekinetic force that Yuroic had thrown against him.

With the power and training of the Master, coupled with the lack of time in the surprising use of the Force, Caedyn didn't have enough momentum to fully push back against the burst of energy. Rather than being thrown against one of the nearby tree's however, his attempt to summon up a barrier of defense using Tutaminis, absorbed a portion of the blow yet not enough to keep the lad from being thrown backwards. Being pulled from his feet and thrown to the air, Caedyn's instinctive action was to call to the Force once more, this time to guide him back to the ground, performing a somersault and landing upright, his boots sliding against the grass and dirt of Kashyyyk's floor. Any further hesitation or time wasted would have likely seen him flail out of control and land hard from such a throw, yet even despite his shoulders rising and falling as he took in a deep intake of air, his breathing heavy from the escalation of the match, he still carried an air of control about him.

"You're one of those expect the unexpected types, huh..." Caedyn remarked, Yuroic not having put down any ground rules for the match and his use of the Force proving that this would be more than simple swordsmanship; "Perhaps I did speak too soon..." he smirked, almost letting loose a chuckle though it'd not be heard in his taking the time to catch his breath and steady himself, knowing now the degree of skill that this would require of him.

"There are some similarities between the Je'daii and the Order of the Silver Jedi" Caedyn further elaborated, though he wondered how Yuroic would understand and feel about his words. "The Je'daii were peaceful in nature. They studied the Force and walked the flow of life as the Jedi do today" he paused a moment in his words, moving to distance himself from the tree's and any potentially debilitating walls that might hold him back from the next step in the sparring duel; "But unlike the Jedi they don't consider themselves lightsiders. Ashla, the deity and representation of the Light, the deity Bogan, of the Dark. These were the first impressions the ancient Je'daii came to believe in. Manifestations of the 'One Force'...-And my people consisted of followers of both", it wasn't the easiest thing to explain for the enormous amount of history that lay behind the Je'daii Order.

"In the very beginning, it was those two groups who first set into motion the war that we see today as the Jedi versus the Sith...-Out of fear for what the Followers of Bogan might do, the Followers of Ashla struck preemptively, starting the first of the Force Wars" he recited the story that his former Master had taught him. "The Order of Je'daii that I joined, were a group of philosophers, students of the Force that had dedicated themselves to going back to our roots and understanding that one cannot be without the other. No light without darkness and vice versa..." Caedyn's left hand extended out in front of him slightly, not at Yuroic but opening his palm skyward and taking a moment to focus.

From his hand came a spark, seemingly out of nothing but deep down on an infinitesimal level, the very particles that came together to form energy, the air that they breathed and life as they knew it began to clash together and bring forth a growing charge. Before Yuroic's eyes, Caedyn began to shape and form a ball of electrical energy known to the followers of Bogan as Force Lightning. He had heard that some Jedi practiced a similar technique, named it something different though he couldn't recall what it was, regardless it served to emphasize his point. "My Master and I, along with many others have studied both aspects of the Force...-All of which, at the very center remains the one connecting factor that is Balance. In all things..." the crackling and sizzling of electrical energy threatened to grow louder than his words, though Caedyn explained himself from across the distance with a slightly raised voice to avoid this, and eventually the ball of energy itself was relinquished and he allowed the energy to disperse back out into the open. Forks of static electricity snapping out into the air around him before disappearing entirely, the energy returning to it's natural state and with this, the light of their environment returning to normal. "We also had a code of conduct of sorts, though to put it simply, our role in the Galaxy was to respect all forms of life and to learn from the past mistakes of our predecessors. For me personally..." he glanced back in the direction of the Silver Rest for a moment, trying to sum up his own feelings and ideals in a way that might make sense to the Jedi Master; "I guess I just try to be a good person, but I don't judge others for their beliefs, just as I'd hope no one would judge me for the teachings I've received and believe in" there was a hint of something there, almost as if he were suggesting that he could be from what he had displayed.

A smirked etched on Yuroic's face as Caedyn was sent flying in the air, he noticed that the boy had used Tutaminis to avoid receiving the full blast of the Force. It was a clever move that Yuroic was somewhat impressed by the boy's use of the power. From there, he flipped into a safe landing, Yuroic stretched and watched Caedyn closely. There was some exertion to his breathing but Yuroic could tell that he was capable of going much longer from here on out. It would be interesting which one of them would cave into exhaustion first. His face was focused and difficult to figure out what he was thinking as he observed Caedyn.

Mention of being the type to be expect the unexpected caused Yuroic to shake his head. "Seems you didn't pay too much attention to Asaraa about my training style. I push my Padawans, I do things that can be considered unfair and painful in some cases. But when your enemy is brutal, violent and wants to kill you, you need to be ready." Yuroic stated in a cool tone, his right arm twitched a little as he remembered how unprepared he was when he faced the Sith and some of the Sith's allies. That level of being unprepared cost him his arm and years of emotion pain that he was still dealing with to this day. It was suffering he did not want his own students to go through, so Yuroic was tough. He took care of them but his training methods was tough, he knew that but it made his students tougher for surviving through it.

"I understand. Je'daii Order sounds similar to the mentality of a Grey Jedi, seeing the balance in the Force. Not dedicating to one side or another but allowing yourself to experience both." Yuroic listened to what Caedyn had to say of the Je'daii, it was a similar style of learning that Yuroic himself had decided to approach when learning the Force in the last five years or so. Approaching it from seeing both Light and Dark as sides of the Force that needed to exist together and could do that if the people dedicated to both sides were willing to try it. "It is interesting to see how diverse the Force Users can be. So many think that it is Sith and Jedi, Jedi and Ren and such. Just as the galaxy is grey and filled with people on a spectrum so is the Force. Perhaps, all the factions need to learn something about that." Yuroic thought aloud as he talked with Caedyn. Discussing things while sparring was a technique he often used, both in real combat and in sparring matches with allies.

It was interesting how similar their beliefs were. "I agree, but unfortunately, trying telling those that follow the darkness. Or those that follow the light, that there needs to be both. Too many are set on annihilating the other." Yuroic mused on the unfortunate events that they found themselves in. Peace was a lie in some regard, it was impossible to find peace when both sides cannot let things be. Yuroic chuckled as Caedyn created a ball of Force Lightning, it had been the first Dark Side power that he truly begun to harness. Choke was his second Dark Side power and now, he had Force Crush under his belt as well. It was tough to use them at times and he knew that he would never be the perfect Jedi like others in the faction but he never wanted to be. Yuroic just wanted to make sure that he could protect others from harm. Inhaling deeply, lifting a stone from the ground. He held it firmly in the air. Hovering there, Yuroic waited for a moment as he increased the pressure on the stone.

Slowly the stone started showing cracks, the pressure causing the stone to breakdown before it was turned to dust. Force Crush was a powerful example of Dark Side connection. Yuroic had struggled initially and found that it took him to accept his darker side, the monster that he had tried to hide away for so long. "I have learnt powers of the Force from both sides myself, unique in that side of things. Asaraa learnt Force Lightning herself from me." For some Jedi, he was not one of them, he was something else but Yuroic couldn't help but be interested in all sides of the Force and learning as much as he could. It was something he was curious about from day one, learning all he could when he finally learnt how to read. "Becoming a Jedi, it was the only option for me when I started but being one, even if I am a Grey Jedi. I never thought I was worthy of being a Master of this Order but here I am. If you wanted, I could help you become a Jedi Master, give some outside guidance." Yuroic offered, as much as he didn't like Caedyn dating Asaraa, it was more joking disapproval than an actual dislike. The more they talked, the more Yuroic realised that there was a lot in common between the two.

"I've never really known if I was the Jedi type, honestly" Caedyn replied, flicking the wrist of his swordhand and spinning the blade off to the side; "Asaraa's been really good about understanding that as a Je'daii I won't get involved in the wars of politics, I won't take sides. My only part in all that is to make sure I can help as many of the afflicted as I can. Victims to all that nonsense" he had no interest in governments and their proposed powers over others. Having grown up on Commenor, he had seen and even helped his Mom with running things a bit before truly coming to understand the meaning behind his Master's teachings.

"I don't care if someone's using the Darkside of the Force, it's just the same as someone using the light as far as I'm concerned. I practice all forms of the Force that I've been trained to know how to use, and the Force is what has created us all, it binds all living things, not just one side of the coin, ya' know?" It was honestly nice to talk with someone who he could consider an adult, and older peer who seemingly had similar values as he did. Unlike his father, Caedyn felt like his views being aired with [member="Yuroic Xeraic"] wouldn't automatically be countered by some father-son type of lecture, as though Caedyn didn't know what he was talking about. "Of course, I'm also not the type to force my views on to others or to judge them for their beliefs...-I don't think I'd fit in very well around the Silver Order, otherwise" he grinned a little.

Inhaling slowly, Yuroic would feel a change in the air as Caedyn literally took in the life of their environment, seemingly feeding off of the presence of the natural world and allowing it to invigorate him. Many Darksiders were known for practicing a similar technique most called Force Drain, yet the molecules of life around him would show no signs of being sucked bone dry, only taking what he needed in order to make up for the stamina and strength lost from his previous need to defend himself through Tutaminis. Being a Master of the Force, the older Jedi standing before him wouldn't have any difficulty in deciphering the act.

"Well then, Master" Caedyn smiled, calling him once more by his title and rank; "I'm ready to continue when you are!".

"Well, there isn't just one type of Jedi Caedyn, look at me. I am not that much of a lawful good guy type, but I am a Jedi and I work hard to protect my family which is this Jedi Order." Yuroic stated, he knew that he was never going to be a role model of a Jedi but he did what he needed to keep his family and friends safe. It was strange enough that he actually reached the rank of Master, Yuroic expected to be a Knight till his death, and he wasn't thinking he would die young either. Twirling his sword around his body, Yuroic continued to listen to Caedyn. "Asaraa is right to respect that decision, in regards to the Force. Balance is an option, but politics is a differing matter. You took part in our conflict with the Mandalorians on Umbara, when the Mandalorian Empire comes to attack, I am sure you will want to take part then in helping us. When the Sith Empire follows after the Mandalorians, will you not take part? If you didn't take part then you wouldn't have been on Umbara, you wouldn't be here but travelling the galaxy with the other Je'daii. It is tough to fight the Sith and the Mandalorians, they aren't all evil but they do wish harm to us, our family, friends, loved ones and the people we protect. You can choose not to take part but could you? I couldn't."

It was easy to see Caedyn's point on the Dark Side of the Force. "They can be seen as the same coin, the Light and the Dark. But then you have to question why the Dark Side corrupts a person's appear and the Light Side does not affect their appearance. They might be more different than we know, to understand the Force is something not going to be achieved in our lifetime I believe." Yuroic respected the Dark Side, he tried to understand it better and even used it but he did know it was more complex than he initially thought. It was a lecture but a discussion on differing views and opinions to Yuroic. "Ha! There are a few Jedi who like to judge others, just not as vocal as they use to be from my knowledge." Yuroic smirked as he shrugged, it happened but Yuroic ignored people like this.

Feeling the life being drained and absorbed by Caedyn, Yuroic chuckled and nodded his head, he had expelled some of his energy but he was ready to push him for another hour or two of intense fighting. "Seems like you got yourself back up to full, seems unfair." Yuroic teased as he grabbed his sword tightly, moving forward, Yuroic spun in the air before landing strong and twirling his blade to attack fast and hard at the limbs. His stance was of Makashi, using Form 2 which was better for one on one matches.

Caedyn braced himself upon sign of [member="Yuroic Xeraic"]'s incoming attack, his weight shifting to his front foot so that he could throw himself back in an evasive dash to get clear of the first swing, whilst using his single training blade to seek to parry off the second strike, his feet carrying him two further paces back and away from the Jedi Master's pursuit. From there it would seem that the older of the pair would fall into stance once more, showing signs of experience in both Ataru as well as the intent to practice Makashi if Caedyn's knowledge of Jedi Teachings wasn't to be mistaken. Thus far, he could recognize the forms from appearance, yet hadn't quite memorized their techniques outside of Ataru being a form that often applied aerial techniques during combat.

"I thought you'd be prepared for anything..." He mused, soon stepping off to his right and beginning to circle the Jedi Master once again, gauging his form and having to remind himself that Jedi combat was not quite so similar as that of the Je'daii. He would need to be on his toes, though that much had been a given from the very beginning of their bout. "I suppose I want to do what's right, though I'm not certain I'd make a good Jedi; I'm here for the Order because it was what Asaraa wanted and I had little else to go".

Caedyn's Wooden Sword whirled with a *Whish* of air as his wrist rolled, the blade spinning in two full vertical rotations at his side before he suddenly quickened his pace and sought to take Yuroic off guard if possible. Using two blades gave the Master a rather decent advantage though not enough for the fight to be called a loss quite yet. Stepping in and then dashing to the left side-stepping around Yuroic's front, Caedyn's blade swept out before him in a wide horizontal slash that would take to the man's mid-section if left undefended against; from there the younger lad would seek to return the dull-blade with an arcing strike rising skyward across the torso area, hip to shoulder if Yuroic were too slow to avoid it.

It was good to see that Caedyn could defend himself from Yuroic's initial attacks, his wooden blade slicing through the air with vicious speed. His arms moved with practised measure, he been fighting with a sword for over a decade now. He could remember a time when the holding of a blade felt wrong, it was not his weapon, at least he hadn't been. Now he was nothing without his Lightsabers. Yuroic chuckled as Caedyn tried coming back at him, "I didn't say I wasn't prepared, I was just calling you out for cheating." A smirk was clear on his face, a tease as he positioned himself strong for a good defence. "I didn't think I would be worthy of becoming a Jedi, I never thought I would be a Jedi Master. I would tell Asaraa that she would be a Jedi Master before I would ever be one. She is much more a Jedi than I am, at least I think so. My point is, don't think you aren't Jedi-material, whether or not you want to be one is a different matter. But you could be one." Yuroic explained.

His usual style was to wield two Lightsabers or a double Lightsaber, it give him advantage in being adaptive in combat where his opponents weren't able to be. For now, Yuroic was just using his off-hand to defend and attack Caedyn. Twirling his sword around, Yuroic was able to quickly parry and block Caedyn's strikes. Even with his off-hand, Yuroic was fast and strong, his body deceived opponents into thinking he wasn't as agile as he was. Yuroic pushed back and jumped high. Pouncing off tree to tree, Yuroic sought to make it hard to predict where he could attack and from what angle. Finally, he leapt down and swung his sword with both hands at Caedyn's stomach. Flipping onto his feet, Yuroic used the Force and pulled a second sword into his dominant hand, spinning that faster and with more precision than his off-hand could do.

"Now, the fun begins." Yuroic smirked.

Caedyn was forced to take the wooden sword into both hands as he scrambled to counter the low slash for his stomach, raising the blade in a vertical guard at eye level, whilst also pushing forward on his feet and dropping to his knee's in order to lower himself beneath of [member="Yuroic Xeraic"]'s descent in time to be able to recover and put distance between them both, his blade meeting Caedyn's and being halted before it could connect with his body, soon to be left behind as the younger man ran a couple paces from where the attack had occurred, needing to keep the Jedi Master at a distance in order to be able to read and try to anticipate his moves.

"I've never seen anyone move like that..." Caedyn spoke with a huff, expelling a heated breath as he panted a little from the sudden exertion, now trying to steady himself. Yuroic's use of their surrounding environment had nearly cost Caedyn the bout, he'd been lucky to escape as well as he had.

"To be honest with you, I'm not really sure what being a Jedi would even mean for me" Caedyn spoke his thoughts openly, part of him yearning to fit in with the rest of the Silver Order that [member="Asaraa Vaashe"] was so involved and dedicated to. "My Dad's told me the basics and all, fighting for the right reasons, the good of the Galaxy and all that..." Caedyn smiled a little warily, obviously lacking what the lifestyle could mean for himself as an individual.

Caedyn hadn't seen someone jump around like Yuroic had, meant that he likely had few encounters with skilled users of Ataru, which was a Lightsaber Form all about moving around the environment and using it to fight the best way you can. "It is Ataru, all about movement and disorienting your opponents. It is often used by those who have great acrobatic skills. It can be difficult to learn but definitely a useful technique to have. Most Sith don't expect a Jedi to be jumping around and flipping in the air before striking." Yuroic was a Master of Niman, using all the previous Lightsaber Forms in one. It was the hardest to learn outside of Vaapad but Yuroic had been determined from the day he learnt about Niman to learn it to the best of his ability.

Yuroic shrugged, "your father has one view on the Jedi but to each person it means something else. To me, being a Jedi means protecting those that can't protect themselves and keep my family, the Order safe. At any cost. Probably why Jairdain and Asaraa aren't always my biggest fan since I am the one that puts myself on the front line. Where the action is the do the best I can to protect everyone else." Yuroic looked at Caedyn, "that could be the Jedi way that you believe in, or you could find a different way that best suits you, something that is similar to or a mix of Asaraa's, mine and your father's view on the Force and the Jedi way." Yuroic twirled the two wooden swords and then jabbed and sliced at Caedyn's knees.

Caedyn's attention to [member="Yuroic Xeraic"]'s words were suddenly distracted by the flourish of his blades before the Master's moving to strike at his knees, a jab first which was swiftly parried off to the side before the younger of the two was then forced to jump back several paces at once in a quick and evasive dash, just narrowly avoiding the reach of the swinging blow that followed. The two attacks were light and seemingly practiced with ease, Yuroic seemingly reminding him to keep his focus on the sparring match despite the depth of their conversation.

"Being on the front-lines suggests fighting in a War" Caedyn replied, assuming as much though soon to follow up on the statement while he kept himself moving, walking slowly in a clockwise motion around his opponent and keeping a careful watch whilst trying to voice his doubts; "Doesn't it conflict with the Jedi way of doing things when you're having to fight others, possibly having to kill them?" he asked, his question coming from a couple discussions he'd had with his father and mother back on Commenor quite some time ago now.

Caedyn understood the reality of their Galaxy, the likelihood of conflict arising between two Nations or Government Powers was sadly very common, it was just easy to ignore to miss noticing when your time was spent on a single world so many systems away from the afflicted. So far, Caedyn hadn't needed to take the life of anyone, even during Commenor's liberation. He had deflected blaster-bolts back at the Sith Troops who had fired at him, but he hadn't had the time to know whether or not anyone had actually been hit by one of the stray shots and even during the initial invasion from the Sith, He and Asaraa had both managed to flee after Caedyn had goaded one of the Sith into a fight, only to distract him and use the opportunity for their escape. Aside from that, he'd never been forced to do more than defend himself.

"How do the Silver Jedi justify killing someone?" he soon asked, "I get having to defend or protect someone else, but in a War it's a bit different isn't it. It's one Army against another, there's really no innocent people involved".

There was some sense in the words that Caedyn spoke, it was only because Yuroic was more experienced in battle, most of his Jedi life he had been in conflict, he fought Sith Lords when only a Padawan. Luckily there had been other Padawans with him to ensure that he didn't die but he was still fighting a powerful Sith Lord. He had seen the effects of war and the loss of life. Sacrificing his own arm in battle. "It is not as simple as that unfortunately Caedyn. Jedi have fought in many wars over the years. Because if we don't fight then we are only letting more innocent people get harmed by the tyranny and abuse of others. Look at the Sith Empire, if we were to leave them unchecked, do you really think people would be safe?" Yuroic sighed as he looked to one side.

"Killing, harming others. It leaves a mark on your soul, something that will never fade away. However, if we don't defeat the evil that is out there then we are leaving people to suffer under the control of those who will only do them harm. So we fight, we war and we kill. All so that people can live the lives that they want to live, to find peace and live without fear. But for that to happen, we must stop the ones who wish to fight us and stop us from achieving that." Yuroic hoped that his explanation would be helpful to Caedyn. "They want to war against us, they attack us. Look at the Mandalorians, if we don't confront them then they will keep attacking us. Raiding our people and doing more harm to them. We have tried peace, we have tried talking with them but they do not want it. So we are left with warring with them, confronting them and ending them with the hopes the next leader will be more peaceful."

The question Caedyn had posed wasn't an easy one, but the answer [member="Yuroic Xeraic"] offered him did make sense and to some degree Cae knew it deep down; It was just difficult to consider the probability that there would eventually come a time where he might be forced to end the life of another. The Mandalorian's were raised in example, and unfortunately they were a culture that had grown close in heart to his Mother and Sister's side of the family. Despite knowing and having seen the results of one of their raids upon Umbara, Caedyn couldn't help but feel discouraged every time they were mentioned.

"Fighting so that others don't have to" Caedyn voiced his mind, his thoughts spoken while also sounding out the notion to himself to see if it sounded accurate. "I guess it's hard for me to let go of my Master's teachings from back in the Je'daii; She often encouraged me not to get caught up in politics and the fallout of political powers, but at the same time it's all my Parents have ever been involved in", he and his sister had grown up on the mostly peaceful world of Commenor, and yet through their Parents business with other Governments and coupled with access to the holo-net, they'd learned early on in their lives just how messy politics could get. In some way, Caedyn could almost blame politics for why he and Loreena were both sent to train away from their home-world and only known family at the time.

"If having to make the hardest decisions can mean the difference of life and death for people that would otherwise be victims to oppression...-The decision doesn't sound as difficult to understand, knowing the kind of virtue I think my Parents would have wanted my Sister and I to grow up with..." his words faded and there still remained an air of uncertainty around him, yet his former Order also taught about balance in the Galaxy. There would always be bad people in the Galaxy, but so too would there always be good people taking a stand for what was right. His Dad believed that the Jedi were the representation of these good people, but these were all things that Caedyn was still having to learn and come to accept over time. Especially if he was to become one of them.

It was always hard to get rid oneself of teachings from a mentor, especially one that can be so influential on a young person's life. Yuroic found it hard to forget about Arisa and her teachings. However, there were differences in their opinions on the Force and how Jedi should be. At least, from what he could remember about Arisa and her teachings. It had been a long time since she had taught Yuroic a lesson and he missed her deeply. Yuroic could understand that Caedyn felt the same way. He was torn between the way his mentor taught him and the realisation that his view on the galaxy was differing from those lessons.

"Going against lessons you were taught, that can be hard. But you need to figure out your view on the galaxy and the Force. This isn't the politics of the galaxy, this is just us doing what we feel is right. You don't have to take part in the invasions and the war, but if you feel the need, the want to protect others and defend the SJO and its family then step up and stand for what you believe in. We fight because we believe it is the right thing to do, there is nothing political about it, it is something deep within a person." Yuroic nodded his head, he was conflicted, he hated war but he also understood the need to protect the others.

Nodding his head slowly, "there will always be Sith, look at the CIS. We can work with the CIS compared trying to talk to the Sith Empire, I believe that Light and Dark will always be in the galaxy and that will never change, but we can work towards peace and work with those preferring Dark Side. Politics should be just for peace in my opinion." Yuroic mentioned as he focused on Caedyn.

"Balance in the Force is always constant, the Je'daii taught this, and while one side may grow more powerful for a while. Eventually something always comes back to even out the playing field" Caedyn spoke, recalling on his past discussions with other Je'daii, as well as his personal belief of it. It was in this sense that he could understand why Jedi like [member="Yuroic Xeraic"] could accept working alongside the Sith that were within the Confederacy, but that wasn't to say that there weren't risks in that either. "So what happens when the Sith in the Confederacy do something wrong? What would that mean for the alliance with the Silver Jedi Order?". Once again, the question was thought provoking and probably wasn't an easy one, yet Caedyn was the type that had never been afraid to ask the difficult questions when it mattered most. Right now, it mattered a great deal...Given the younger man's want to better understand the Silver Jedi, so that he might see reason and likeness enough to do more than just join them, but find his place there too.

"Dad once said that doing the right thing, rarely comes easy" Caedyn added, briefly coming to a stop opposite Yuroic, his wooden blade being spun in a full rotation, rolling his wrist in order to keep his arm loose and ready to react quickly should the Jedi Master before him, give him the need to act defensively. Presently however, it was their discussion that seemed to be taking more of Cae's focus than the sparring match itself. "My Mom and my Sister are real close to the Mandalorians. I know that what they did, attacking so many people was wrong, and that moving to stop them before they can do any more damage seems like the right thing to do...-But it might mean fighting with my own family. How would a Jedi try to deal with something like that?".

Caedyn asked the question that so many both outside and within the Silver Jedi Order asks. The SJO's relation with the CIS was often called into question, they were Sith so they went about business in a very different manner to how the Jedi would do things. "Then we talk to them. We state that their actions are not condoned by the SJO. However, if we don't try and forge a friendship with Sith, then we will never gain the peace that the Jedi are said to want." Yuroic stood by the agreement between SJO and CIS, if they could prove that peace was an option then they could spread that spark of hope across the galaxy but he also could understand those that felt that SJO were betraying the core Jedi beliefs.

Yuroic shrugged when Caedyn asked Yuroic about how the Jedi would do the situation that he found himself in, Yuroic shrugged as he could not think of a good way to handle the situation. "I say, do whatever you think is best. There is no easy or good answer when it comes to family. I can't tell you what to do, you have to do what you feel is right in your heart." Yuroic gestured to the heart in Caedyn's chest. Twirling his swords, Yuroic looked over to Caedyn, he inhaled deeply.

Using the Force, Yuroic pulled a branch down and brings it down hard to Caedyn to pull him off balance.

The tree branch above Caedyn cracked and brushed against others, leaves and branches both as it was pulled down on top of him. [member="Yuroic Xeraic"] was successful in toppling the younger mans balance, throwing him to the ground, landing on his front with a dull sounding huff as the impact forced Caedyn to lose his breath, his lungs suddenly feeling starved and winded as he tried to make sense of what had happened.

He'd been training for a good many years now in the Force and in a number of martial arts and melee weaponry forms, yet it was the conversation that had gotten the better of him and the subject having been so close to the heart, he simply hadn't had the time to think fast enough and react in time to avoid getting hit.

Realizing that he was being left wide open, Caedyn threw his weight to his left and rolled several times across the ground floor of Kashyyyk before using the momentum to carry himself back to his feet, his wooden training sword still in hand, though his confidence shaken somewhat. Aside from a few cuts and scrapes down the back of his neck and the right side of his face, the tree branch hadn't done much else but disorientate him and take advantage of his sentimentality.

Shaking his head as he looked back at Yuroic, he wanted to argue the choice of the Master's timing, yet he knew that the man he was facing often used such tactics in training in order to prepare his students for anything out in the field. [member="Asaraa Vaashe"] had told him as much, as had Yuroic himself before they had begun. Complaining about it now wouldn't have gotten him anywhere, and so he chose to go back on the offensive, running at Yuroic head on with his blade drawn into both hands, slowly lifting at shoulder height and drawn back, ready to lash out at the Jedi Master with a strong sweeping strike for his upper torso.
