Intent: To create an Alkahest blade for Gherron Vael. This blade was made to the character’s specifications and has all the standard trappings of an Alkahest blade. It also has a special crystal mounted on the pommel.

Special Features:
- Impervious to lightsabres/damage from normal sources.
- Provides significant resistance to cold.
- Exudes a strong Light Side aura.
- May only be used effectively by Gherron Vael or Phylis Alince.
- Unbreakable. Made with Alkahest infusion, the blade is unbreakable by normal means, as is the case with all Alchemised materials.
- Aura of Light. Infused with the Light Side, the blade burns Dark Side adepts and those created by its arts such as a Sithspawn.
- Cold Resistance. With the inclusion of the Glare Ice Crystal, the user has considerable resistance from cold.
- Heavy. At almost twice the weight of a regular blade, Alkahest weapons are slower, a fact especially in contrast with the near weightless lightsabres more commonly used.
- Cutting. Though supernaturally sharp and hard, the blade does not have the cutting power of a lightsabre through solid metal etc.
- Brittle Crystal. Though the blade itself is unbreakable, the crystal at the pommel is not, and sufficient force might knock it free or break it.
Description:
Phylis’ skills with Alkahest continue to improve to the level that she can easily make powerful items for any ally coming to her.
Her latest client was Gherron Vael, an ally of the Jedi, and he requested an Alkahest sword with a couple of additions. First, he wanted it to be coloured black, a curious choice for sure, but easily done by the introduction of some charcoal to the process. Second, he wanted a special crystal to be mounted on the pommel.
The blade was made by the usual means by Phylis, involving smelting the metal and infusing the Light into it whilst it was still being hammered. Gherron also added his own presence to the blade, essentially restricting full usage of the blade to the two of them. Another picking up the blade could use it, but not use it as well or call on the crystal to aid them.
This crystal works at protecting the user from cold, both natural and Force elemental. This crystal is firmly gripped in Alkahest metal jaws, though it can be easier broken than the rest of the blade.
The blade, being made by Alkahest is practically unbreakable. Several powerful Dark Side adepts could disenchant it or the blade could be destroyed by particularly cataclysmic means.
Like all Alchemy and Alkahest items, the infusion of the Force makes them much heavier. This makes this blade considerably weightier than a regular sword and especially a lightsabre.
Overall the blade is a strong personal weapon, but has clear limitations and strengths in equal measure.
