Look guys. Let's get real here. Step 1: Declare neutrality. Step 2: Park the fleet. Step 3: Then let anybody who wants to fight bad guys go fight bad guys under the GA banner.
The SJO did not come to Kashyyyk to join WW3. We came to leave it behind. The fact that there has been no vote and no public voice in our own forums about this bloc party from our Faction Staff is heinous. Criminal. Have we already forgotten why we left Voss in the first place? Or are we just playing puppets now. Puppets to "war is good". Puppets to "war gives us meaning".

We didn't come here to jump into wars, I know. However, we're not a neutral faction -- we are lightsided. GA has been there to help us during some of our last invasions, and we are working to strengthen bonds with them now. We had a diplomatic thread w/ the GA back before Mirial as well. We didn't want to move to the core only to isolate ourselves either, we do want to be open to working with other factions. At times, that does include joining invasions as allies.
I see what you're saying, we're didn't join the invasions 'just because' or merely for PVP. We do want to help out another faction. A number of our folks are in the invasion as allies, and just as many are choosing to sit these out -- and that's totally fine.
On the SJO front -- I'd like to get another dominion started soon, and we do have a Life Day celebration coming up sometime next week.

It's in our best interest to support the only other LS Major on the board when they get ganged up on like we were not too long ago. Who do you think those DS factions are going to bounce back towards if they topple the GA?
There are new people in charge of the GA that are either SJO regulars or friendly toward us. I see it as a good opportunity to end the cycle of shade between us and the GA once and for all. Seems to be working out. So yes, I guess we're in another great conflict, but at least it isn't the usual of one faction getting pummled by half the board.
I do agree that the staff should be a little more vigilant putting up news updates for those that don't use Discord so they know what's going on. I can see how this can appear like a random swing in action.
I know it's pretty lame that the GA didn't put their full support behind the SJO when we needed it (though they have had some members help us, which can't be ignored). However, let's not forget that the SJO/SSC was the same way and perceived as being apathetic.Jessica Matthews said:

Most of the active members of the SJO are on discord, where we have the bulk of our discussions. It's faster and more convenient, where we don't have to worry about concern trolling that plagues many of our discussions threads on site. So while it appears that the staff is just doing what it likes, they actually do have popular support. Most people seem to be enjoying the event as we're all on equal footing for once. We do play Jedi at the end of the day, with the expectation that we're going to get into tussles with the baddies here and there.Jessica Matthews said:

I feel we are here to support Light Side efforts and as the oldest Major Faction still going and the only one with "Jedi" in the title, we need to be the ones battling the Dark Side.
We need to be the heroes against the villains regardless of what people say - our memberbase is strong and I assure you I will never choose to do something with the Faction I don't voice here and on Discord to the writers. I need the majority on board and if not, we won't progress.
I did with the Kashyyyk move which was our biggest risk yet, and have done so with these invasions, but I'll always be here to talk it out with you or anyone to help. Never worry about coming to me.
And partly, I just want the board to get off the SJ bashing which I think they are doing now - yes we take more proactive standings against the Dark Siders then anyone and we are more militaristic, but then if we weren't, we'd fizzle out and have nothing to do.
We have said now we are Light Side, joined against the Dark Side enemies and will do what we can to remind people we ARE the good guys we always have been.
