Production: Mass Production (Limited for Performance Implant Variant)
Material: Ferrocarbon, Memristor, Polymers, Internal Components
Special Features:

Strengths:
+Implants are able to immediately react to foreign agents being introduced into the host’s system, like mutagens (viruses).
+Resistant to electronic attacks, cyberwarfare, and EMP/ion energy.
+After death, the implants will still work to try to prevent the spread of disease and keep the host from mutating by rapid breakdown of the host’s corpse.

Weaknesses:
 - Becomes less effective at administering treatment in instances where the user receives increasing levels of trauma.
 - Has no capabilities for tissue regeneration.
 - Performance is adversely affected by poor lifestyle choices (e.g. obesity, smoking, alcoholism).
 - Implant users require increased caloric intake to provide material for conversion.

Description

Allegro is a series of medical implants and dispensers designed to monitor health and to administer personalized medicines and other chemicals to treat illnesses and provide first aid. A high performance variant of the implants has additional functionality, able to dispense performance enhancing stimulants. The first series of implants were personally developed by Panacea’s first CEO, Suravi Teigra, during the early days of the biotech firm. Having personally lived through the horrors brought on by the Gulag Plague, she looked to ensure the populace of the Kiribian Systems Union would have better protection in the event a similar epidemic befell the galaxy. More recently, the newest iteration of Allegro has become a popular item with the rise of bioterrorism.

The kit consists of small molecular converters tied to a host’s endocrine system or its equivalent in non-human species. The converters siphon a small portion of hormones produced by glands to use as fuel for producing compounds. Rice-sized sensors are dispersed throughout the body to monitor the host’s physical and mental state, using a combination of electromagnetic scans and physical intake of microscopic tissue samples. A memristor-based processing unit, based inside the primary converter module, analyzes readouts from the sensors for symptoms to determine if any medication needs to be administered. In the cases where it is required, the processing unit gives instructions to the molecular converters on what compounds to produce. The whole system is powered by capacitors that are charged wirelessly without risk of radiation to the host. Allegro can operate between 12-72 hours per charge, all dependent on the state of its host.

To optimize the effectiveness of the treatments, the exact dosage and molecular makeup of the medications produced are personally tailored to the unique biochemistry of the host, based off of the host’s specific genetic makeup. The strategy of administering personally tailored drugs gives Allegro an edge over other medical implants that take a blanket approach of dispensing bacta/kolto and premade concoctions which may not be the ideal solution for treatment.

The processing unit has wireless uplink/downlink abilities, able to communicate with Panacea data centers to improve the speed and accuracy of diagnoses with a boost from cloud computing. Allegro can also interface with approved personal devices and systems used by hospitals and paramedic units to provide readouts and reports for analysis. For security purposes, each Allegro kit comes pre-installed with Mithril security software. Mithril is also used as an anti-tampering measure to prevent users from altering the systems to eliminate the risk of dangerous unprescribed actions like the production of hallucinogens.

A standalone dispenser is also offered for instances where the implant option is not wanted or desired. It has an integrated bioscanner, and uses canisters of synthetic chemicals for the production of medication. It uses a standard power cell for operation. The dispenser is equally as effective as the implants in providing medication, but the deployment process is much slower in comparison to the integrated implants which can respond immediately to changes by intravenous delivery. There is no dispenser equivalent for the performance implant.

The following is a list of scenarios (on a human) to give users an idea of the strategies Allegro takes to deal with diseases and injury. This is by no means an exhaustive list, or there would be an encyclopedia’s worth of treatments to cover.

[member="Ciana Teigra"] - Hi there! I'll be your friendly neighborhood FJ today. Ambitious sub, and I like ambitious medical subs!

First note before I dig any further into your sub...

Bio-Comm Module

This is a Minor-Production material/component, being submitted into a Mass-Produced item. I'm going to need to see one of the following conditions met before I handle any other potential issues in the submission.

 • Remove the material entirely and replace it or leave it out, and keep Mass Production
 • Drop this submission to Limited, and keep the component, with no dev.
 • Drop this submission to Minor, and keep the component, 10 posts of dev.
We can proceed further once this hurdle is cleared. There are a few other issues, but how we proceed with those depends on this first one. Also, kudos on using the Mayo Clinic and several other solid medical and scientific sites for inspiration.

[member="Ciana Teigra"] - Thank you, but prior there was no notation it was for the limited variant. Now that it is made clear, we can move on.

Here is what I would like to see to get this approved.

 • Limited Production for BOTH products.
 • Remove this weakness and replace it with another: Has no capabilities for tissue regeneration
 • Make these more detrimental to operation: Becomes less effective at administering treatment in instances where the user receives increasing levels of trauma / Performance is adversely affected by poor lifestyle choices (e.g. obesity, smoking, alcoholism).
 • EMP/Ion Resistance or Cyber War resistance. Pick one or the other, or tone both down to a weak resistance.

NOTE: I have edited my response after consultation with other Judges, and some flaws pointed out. And I'm trying to be more brief.
