Description:

Arakyd Industries presents the AP-ATW a rugged, tough, and like the name states, all purpose walker. The AP-ATW brings all three crucial roles of battle rolled up into a single reliable walker. Anti air, anti vehicle, and anti infantry. While it is a very standard walker, having these three parts in one machine is what sets it ahead of other walkers on the battlefield.

How it works. Using a standard hydraulic system to operate the legs the engine pressurizes the oil and gives the walker movement through a interconnected system of hydraulic fluids and mechanics. The coolant system runs on argon and helps keep everything from overheating, all tubes of course are kept under durasteel to keep from outside sources rupturing them.

Inside the cabin. There are a few different roles and positions inside the main cabin that will be gone over to make this mechanical behemoth move and operate smoothly. There are roughly three levels to this walker, the main floor, upper turret, and lower turret control room. Each have personnel stocking them to ensure function.

Driver: The person moving the machine and telling it where to go, this job can be rather tricky as it is a six legged walker. So getting to learn the controls can be a little tricky but with the proper training anyone can get the thing moving in the right direction. The drive is of course responsible for moving the machine up and down terrain and keeping the walker moving.

Main gunner: The main gunner operates the heavy laser cannon on the main floor and is only responsible for pulling the trigger of the massive gun. The laser is a standard laser cannon one would seen used on roof defenses or other vehicles and is capable of blowing up other heavy walkers, tanks, etc etc

Spotter: the spotter on the main floor is responsible for manning the targeting computer for the turbolaser. Aiming the gun giving range, direction, and other various target formation. He operates a standard targeting computer and has control of swiveling the main gun that can do a complete 360 without effecting the AA turret up top.

Loaders (3): responsible for loading the main gun, rotary cannon, and AA Gun. the loaders pick up the large power cells, remove the old, replace, and make sure the gunners are locked and loaded at all times.

AA Gunner: the gunner is responsible for both his targeting computer and firing on the enemy. Not having room for a spotter the gunner has to do both jobs, while this can be overwhelming for new gunners, over time an experienced gunner can easily pick targets and knock fighters, bombers, small shuttles, and drop ships out of the air. The gun Is vastly ineffective against anything else and is meant for smaller vehicles.

Lower deck

Rotary cannon gunner: unlike the ball gunner atop the lower gunner doesn't have a targeting computer. It was deemed unnecessary as the rotary cannon only has a range of 500 meters. The lower gunner slips into the bottom deck and lays prone as he operates the cannon bellow.

All Around

Mechanic: responsible for keeping the rust bucket running the mechanic makes any repairs they can to the walker from the inside or outside, but mechanics aren't miracle workers so normally they are just changing oils, gasses, and other fluids. They won't be repairing a direct hit from a rocket launcher to the hydraulic system any time soon.

The walker isn't very fast though, it's a slow lumbering beast that can up up twenty kilometers an hour at the most and it is weak around the joints. A simple rocket to one of its massive legs won't completely disable it but it will cut it's already slow speed down to a crawl of desperation, another will completely disable it's movement. The armor on the cabin however can take a hit or two before complete destruction, it's tough as walker armor is meant to be and it can decently protect the users inside. However the walker has no defenses against Ion or EMP based attacks and such attacks will destroy and wreck havoc on it's systems. Another crucial downfall of this machine is that it has no side or rear defenses and the rotary cannon can not turn to defend the flank. So flanking the walker will pretty much be a death sentence for it, as it is too slow turn at close engagements. It's better suited at ranges of five hundred meters or more as long range support.

But the AP-ATW is a great vehicle that can help keep the front lines safe from all three threats of land vehicles, infantry, or air attack. While it is slow it can operate and climb the most rugged of terrain and is a must have for any war.

Nice submission. We don't have usually turbolasers on vehicles of this size here, could you change the main gun to a heavy laser cannon please?

I'd normally like a link in the image credit to where it was found, but in this case there is credit in the image itself so this is fine!

Pending approval. It's got a 5km range, but don't neglect this is direct line of sight and is, in most situations, going to be much less.

No wait...I mean @Alan....oh forget it.
