DETAILED SPECIAL FEATURES

As a prototype, the BA303 Heads Up Display is the first of its kind produced by Balmorran Arms and marks significant advances in targeting technology. Utilizing the schematics from the SD series droids, the engineers were able to translate and simplify the algorithms used by the droids and repurpose them for a sentient user. The HUD can track up to 10 allies and 10 enemies at once, able to give active readouts on physiological condition, structural integrity, vital statistics, and a plethora of other bells and whistles.

An ablative resin is applied to the beskar plates to further insulate them against intense heat, allowing the wearer to parry or block attacks from a lightsaber wielding opponent or take shots fired from a blaster with minimal worry.

Beskar itself is among the most difficult materials in the galaxy destroy, and with its nearly unnatural density, it protects against virtually all projectiles and energy weapons. However, because of its weight and the limited amount on hand, Alkor preferred to specificallly tailor the protection to specific areas.

The bodysuit is standard for all spacers, and even more so for Mandos. It protects the wearer against the void of space, as well as various airborne toxins and bacteria.

Two hours worth of oxygen is fed to the helmet, quickly and readily available to be toggled in the event it is needed.

Integral to the design and important for missions where cooperation is key, an on-board comms unit allows hands free conversation on demand.

DESCRIPTION

Alkor's personal armor is a marriage of free movement and maximized protection. Most prudent, he is defended against attacks to the head and upper body, which are the most likely targets in many fight scenarios. Geared toward melee encounters, the armor boasts near unbreakable Mandalorian Iron plates with increased heat resistance, to allow for close combat with pesky Forcies and their lightsabers.

The design of the bodyglove and lighter portions are an amalgamation of tight under and loose over, which adds layered protection to help prevent rips or tears to the glove proper. (This was done with poisons in mind).

Alkor had several technicians work personally on the HUD to make something worthy of being called Mandalorian, and they came through in spades. Once, the SD series droids had been the terror of the galaxy- their combat systems became the template for what is, perhaps, the most ingenious on board computer in all creation.

Strengths:

+Lightweight: while the plates are nominally heavy, they do not cover a large area of Alkor's body and as such afford him full freedom of movement. Unlike other Mandalorians he prefers to move quickly, rather than weather blows indefinitely.

+Advanced Heads Up Display: Capable of uploading and downloading data quickly and even performing rudimentary slicing protocols, this state of the art Balmorran tech boasts the latest in targeting systems, live-updates on armor and weapons integrity, ammunition, and vital statistics.

+Sonic Dampners: Aural damage ain't got nothing on this bad boy.

+Vaccum Sealed Bodyglove: Protection from the harshness of space and various poisons is a must among standard armors, in light of a new age of chemical and biological warfare.

+Beskar plates with ablative resin: Head, Chest, Arms, and Hands. These areas are protected against blaster fire and can take a beating from lightsabers and physical weapons alike.

+Shadowsilk cloak treated with dye made from the Norris Root: Because we've seen cloaks put to flame before, this treatment helps to slow the process. It also affords nominal protection against blasters and energy weapons, and helps to minimize sounds made by the wearer's armor.

Weaknesses :

-Limited surface area for plates: While those areas covered by Mandalorian Iron Alloy are strongly reinforced against most types of damage, they do not make up the entirety of the armor. As such, only his head, chest, forearms, and hands are fully afforded the protections.

-Kinetic energy still transfers: Despite being largely effective against all types of ammunition, Beskar falls short in that it cannot absorb kinetic energy. With this in mind, and a lack of kinetic dispersion measures, blunt force can wreak havoc on the wearer if applied properly.

-No EMP hardening: the HUD is extremely outfitted, and performs at the top of current market specs, but its drawback lies in that fact as well. Because of all the emphasis on strategic value, they could only apply basic failsafes to the system. While it will not generally overheat, if subjected to interference it will shut down and go into reboot mode, which will require the features to go black for several minutes while the settings and information are reloaded. During that time, only a direct, line of sight view is available to the wearer.

-Armorweave and Carbon Fiber bodyglove: While both materials are stunningly resistant to impact and cutting blows, they do not afford the same protections as beskar. It would not take much for a lightsaber to pierce or a blade to cut through, especially after several hits. Armor piercing rounds also pose a threat, as well as blaster fire.

-Costly to repair and maintain: Due to the technology and materials involved in its construction, this armor is extremely- even prohibitively- too expensive to produce. While its HUD system is a template for other endeavors by Balmorran Arms, they have no long term interests in the full design.

Hey, there. Please link to the manufacturer in your submission.

Furthermore there has been an addition to the template. Please clearly state the resistances this armor specifically has and which it is weak against.

I realize you already mentioned it in the other strengths, but having it clearly defined as its own strength/weakness is necessary now.

Thank you!

Basically the issue is that even if it doesn't cover all of Alkor's body, it pretty much covers most of the main forms of damage that you could receive in combat.

If you remove one of the resistances and add to the weakness that beskar is really ineffective against kinetic damage / blunt damage, I can stamp this.

Updated, removed Poison/Toxin resistance with the logic that a vaccum seal would protect the wearer from them until it is compromised. If it were pierced or otherwise forced open, they could still become afflicted.
