Description:
A shield made out of duraplast to protect Athena from many forms of attacks. it can block very well on both forms of blasters and slughthrowers, as well as most melee weapons with the ideal that she can let the weapon slide off her shield setting the foe off balance. This shield is not simply something that can be thrown around like Captian america here. The shield is heavy, and the basic form of an attack from the shield is bashing the opponent back away from her.
Made out of duraplast, it has a small resistance to lightsabers, only enough to take one hit in a specific section of the shield, it is more so used to protect her for a second or more so then she can find a way around the lightsaber to protect herself. While she has never really faced against a lightsaber, she has a fear of what it could do to her. The shield can be taken off of her arm by leather wraps that can slide over her left bracer on her arm, and then can be placed on her back for easier carrying. Housed on the belly of the shield, inside where her arm is, rests a secondary sheath for her sword "Dikiao" that can be used to hold the sword should she still want to hold onto the shield instead of placing the sword on her belt.
This setup allows for easier drawing of the blade as well as allows her to temporary put her sword away to grab things with her right hand should she need to.
