Alden Karr
Character
Alden Karr was a human male in his late twenties, who was born and raised on in the Canto Bight undercity. Known for his quick wit, charm and dishonesty, Alden carved out a life for himself as thief. Despite his roguish nature, he harboured a deep-seat dream to one day pull of a score big enough that he could escape the world of crime, and live out a peaceful life far away from it all. Accompanied by his loyal companion, a Kowakian Monkey-lizard called Zee, Alden is dead set on making it big.
Biography
Born and raised in the slums of the undercity of Canto Bight, Alden was never destined for an honest life. Surrounded by wealth he could never dream of having for himself, all Alden could hope for was to eek out a living in the poverty stricken underbelly of Cantonica. He was orphaned at a young age, further deeping his struggles, and soon he had to learn on his feel in order to survive the shadows of the underworld.
His teenage years were spent honing the skills that would go on to define his life. He became a skilled thieve and pickpocket, his deft hands and sharp eyes allowing him to swipe and steal what he needed to survive. As he grew up, his charm and quick wit endeared him to others, and soon he was drawn in by the allure of Sabaac. He mastered the rules, and quickly learned how to cheat - an invaluable skill that often kept him fed and, occasionally, in trouble.
Such criminality soon got him into trouble however, when he was caught trying to bribe a jockey to throw a Fathier race. Unsurprisingly he was caught in the act, and lashed across the back by the cruel string of a trainers whip, leaving a scar that serves as a constant reminder of the dangers of the life he leads. Despite the close call, Alden continued to pursue his criminal lifestyle, spurred on by the dream that one day he would score big and leave the underworld behind forever.
Yet such a dream left him open to taking more and more risks, and his life took a darker turn when he robbed the wrong person—someone with deep ties to the Hutt crime syndicate. Caught trying to swipe their credit chits at the bar, Alden soon found himself indebted to the Hutt Clan, and finding himself in need of a score to pay the thugs off. With no allies to turn to and only his wits and his monkey-lizard, Zee, to rely on, Alden is constantly on the move, searching for the opportunity that will finally allow him to break free from the life that has trapped him for so long.

Alden Karr is a simple and dishonest man. To most he comes across as a charming go-getter, an easy smile and quick wit allowing himself to excel in social situations, and see the best in a bad deal. However this charm just masks a more guarded side, one honed after years of betrayal and hardship that have made him slow to trust others. He is always looking out for himself, knowing that in the world he inhabits, loyalty can be a dangerous liability.
Despite his cynicism, Alden is driven by a powerful sense of ambition. His dream of pulling off one big score and retiring to a peaceful, remote planet is the beacon that guides his actions. This goal is so deeply ingrained in him that it overshadows any other desire or relationship he might form. It also serves as his greatest fear—the possibility of never making it big, of being trapped in the underworld forever, keeps him awake at night and pushes him to take risks that others might avoid.
Alden's relationship with his pet, Zee, is the one true constant in his life. Having been with him since childhood, Zee is more than just a pet; the creature is Alden's best friend, confidant, and partner in crime. The bond between them is unbreakable, and Alden would do anything to protect his loyal companion.
