PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Senator Orvath is an older human male with a full head of white hair, neatly combed back, and sharp blue-grey eyes that miss little. His features are patrician, marked by deep lines of age and a life lived in politics and negotiation. He dresses in stately, dark-colored Core World robes accented by silver and deep gray trim. Though age has slowed his movements, his posture remains straight, his bearing dignified, and his voice measured yet commanding.

INVENTORY

  • Fine Core World senatorial robes tailored on Coruscant
  • Personal datapad containing decades of political notes and coded correspondences
  • A Kuati signet ring passed down through his family

PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS

Aelric Orvath is a stern and unyielding advocate for the Galactic Alliance, viewing it not only as the best path forward but as one of the only bulwark between civilization and the chaos of Imperial tyranny. His loyalty to the Alliance is absolute, and he has little tolerance for those who hesitate to commit fully to its cause. To him, neutrality is cowardice, and appeasement is betrayal.

Age has hardened him, not softened him. He speaks with authority and expects his words to be heeded, delivering his arguments with the blunt weight of someone who has seen too many wars to entertain idealistic fantasies. While he is not cruel, he is uncompromising, and he rarely tempers his criticism when addressing senators or leaders who falter in their support for the Alliance.

To allies, Orvath is dependable but demanding, he expects unity, discipline, and sacrifice in service to the greater good. To those outside the Alliance, he is an immovable stone, his rhetoric sharpened into weapons against the Empire and any who would stand idle in its shadow. He does not chase popularity, only survival and in his eyes, survival can only come through a stronger, more determined Galactic Alliance.

STRENGTHS

  • Political Veteran: Decades of experience navigating Senate intrigue, Core World rivalries, and interstellar negotiations.
  • Pragmatic Strategist: Able to see through ideology and focus on what tangibly strengthens the Alliance and protects Kuat.

WEAKNESSES

  • Unyielding Nature: His sternness can alienate allies or create friction with more cautious senators.
  • Age and Frailty: Though mentally sharp, age has slowed him physically, leaving him reliant on aides and security.

HISTORY

Aelric Orvath was born on Kuat, heir to a long line of aristocrats whose fortunes were tied to the legendary Kuati shipyards. His family had supplied fleets to governments for millennia, and from childhood he was taught a simple lesson, rulers rise and fall, but Kuat endures.
Educated in law and political theory on Coruscant, Orvath returned to Kuat as a young man just as the galaxy’s old order gave way to a new age of tension. The shipyards were coveted by both the Galactic Alliance, which sought to preserve democracy, and the resurgent Galactic Empire, which promised security through fear. Orvath learned quickly that his people’s survival would depend on shrewd negotiation, but always in service of the Alliance.
He entered politics not as a populist, but as a pragmatist. His speeches rejected ideology in favor of realism: “Kuat builds the fleets that decide wars and we will not be pawns of tyranny.” This blend of hard pragmatism and aristocratic authority earned him a Senate seat in the Alliance, where he now serves as one of its elder voices.
White-haired and sharp-eyed, Orvath carries himself with the weight of a patrician statesman. To the Alliance, he is both a valuable strategist and a stern voice demanding unity. To the Empire, he is immovable, a relentless advocate for the galaxy’s freedom. For Orvath, survival and sovereignty come first and that means a stronger, resolute Galactic Alliance.
Though advanced in age, he remains a decisive figure, one who embodies the Core’s enduring aristocracy in a galaxy divided between two great powers. For Orvath, there is only one truth: power belongs to those who build the ships and use them to defend liberty.
