Description: The Adaptor grenade is a multiuse, multipurpose grenade casing intended to be used in various roles depending on the need of a battle. From Fragmentation to Gas grenade it plays any of these roles. The Adaptor itself is just casing for a canister that is made to adhere to most surfaces and protects the canister from taking damage from a hard impact. The various uses come in the form of canisters that are places into the case. As there is no mechanic for the Overseer to attach canisters to the Adaptor case, the grenade must be put together before being put into the Overseer’s grenade collection. In each of the uses, the Adaptor casing is meant to be reusable, but the canister that acts as the grenade is consumed after use and therefore will need to be replaced if it is detonated.

The first canister type is fragmentary in design. The canister is made of Bronzium with a small amount of detonite as the explosive. When detonated, the detonite explodes and breaks the Bronzium casing, which then turns into the fragments of metal that are sent in most directions in a five meter radius. The Adaptor casing is normally built strong enough to withstand the force of the explosion, however testing has shown that it is still the most likely of all the designs to not have a reusable Adaptor case.

The Flash-bang canister is, like most of the other canisters, a reinvention of standard grenades for launching from the Overseer with minimal danger of accidental discharge or activation. The grenade contains a tightly packed mixture of Magnesium and Ammonium Nitrate inside an Aluminum casing. When detonated, the contents are strong enough to punch through the aluminum casing in structured points, the light and sound which escape are normally enough to blind and deafen most species unprepared for the blast within a five meter radius. Photoreceptors and creatures that are more sensitive to light can be blinded permanently by the device. The aluminum that is broken can become dangerous projectiles, however the number of pieces likely to be broken off is considered small enough to be of no true danger. Further the likely size of metal shards are of such a size that the heat of the ignition of the explosion is more likely to melt the pieces.

The Fire canister is another one that has the potential to leave no Adaptor case to be reused. This canister utilizes a high pressure nozzle system to spray thermite dust around the grenade, when it is activated. After the thermite has been pushed out, the nozzles switch to the sealed container of magnesium, which is sprayed out at a higher velocity. The magnesium is ignited by a small flame spewed out a moment after the magnesium is released. There is a chain reaction in which the magnesium burns followed by the thermite igniting. This creates an area from five to ten meters radius which can burn through most materials and melt a number of metals that are within the area.

The gas canister is simply a transportation for any number of gases, depending on what the initial use decided to fill the canister with. The Duraplast casing and nozzles are strong enough to contain the gas, to avoid accidental or premature release of the gas. Normally the amount of gas held within the canister is enough to fill a ten meter area. The one danger is for gases that react to being shaken or area adversely affected by sudden momentum changes.

The Freeze canister utilizes the well founded Cryoban chemicals and Duraplast casing with nozzles. The chemicals are sprayed out to a three meter radius area. The canister is prone to freezing up after the Cryoban has been ejected, meaning the canister must either be rebuilt or scrapped.

The final canister is an emitter for computer based programs. Specifically, the emitter is meant to send out programs to be picked up by open connection computer interfaces. The program made by Ultimatum is intended to override most security measures, and is a malicious program intended to overload the computer’s controls. In droids, this may manifest itself as loss of coordination in any manner or sudden lack of control. In computers this may be misfires or corruption of data. On Holocommunicators the device breaks up signals and sends randomized messages. The emitter affects an area three meters radius, however secure systems and strong security measures in programs go a long way to nullify the effects on top of this the emitter has a weak signal strength it cannot send the program through anything more than thin walls. Droids that are not open interface, require codes or specialized equipment to program are completely immune to the emitter. Further if the droid is controlled by central computer, multiple droids being controlled by the same computer, the emitter has no effect whatsoever. Further this specific canister is somewhat fragile, requiring that the Overseer fly a mere five meters, making it very easy to spot and easier to shoot down.

The Adapter casing contains the detonators and various other key components that contribute to the function of the grenade system. There is a strong magnetic seal that is created at the top and bottom of the canister holding area when a canister is put in, this holds the important part of the grenade in place. The magnetic seal is broken by either using a specially made mechanism or pressing certain parts of the device as the canister is pulled out. As with previous grenades made for the Overseer, the Adapters have three means of detonation. Timer, Remote, and Contact. The timer is set by the Overseer just before launch, depending on the intent of the grenade this may be a heavily used or not at all used method. When the time expires the canister is activated. The remote detonator is simply a switch that is activated by a communication on a certain frequency, normally far below or above standard frequencies to avoid accidental detonation for the most part. The final method is contact and is when the grenade hits the ground or comes across a sudden change in momentum. This is useful should a Force user attempt to push or pull the grenade out of the air away from its intended target in a very over manner, the pressure sensors would be set off by the sudden change in where the pressure of momentum is applied and cause the grenade to activate. When the Overseer prepares to fire the grenade, unless controlled or ordered to do otherwise will launch contact activation. The method of detonation is chosen by the commander of the Overseer right before the grenade is fired.

Not sure I like this right off the cuff, as this can just outright nullify Security systems played out by other players. Can you be more specific about any potential weaknesses or strengths? Also I need a link to this program, please.

Okay. Here we go.

I do not have a link to the program. I can remove it entirely if it would be preferred.

I made the following adjustments to try and balance it out, I realized that it was quite overpowered.

How is that?

Look, droid to droid - I don't mind a good program that makes those fleshy things squirm a bit.

That edit works perfectly.

I will continue my review.

Noted in the first canister - Thermite exploding. Thermite doesn't explode. Were you intending a different effect? See below. Also you list detonates higher up, appears you might have been intending to change something but went on. Maybe a typo?

Thermite is a pyrotechnic composition of metal powder fuel and metal oxide. When ignited by heat, thermite undergoes an exothermic reduction-oxidation (redox) reaction. Most varieties are not explosive but can create brief bursts of high temperature in a small area.

Noted in the fire canister - You need a secondary agent, such as an incendiary agent. White phosphorus would be a good example of this.

Please review these.

Thank you for catching that in regards to using thermite where I meant detonite. I replaced the words that I saw in that paragraph.

I went ahead and did some quick research and decided to go with the more common incendiary agent used for igniting thermite, which is magnesium, in the real world.
