Acolytes and Dead Cults

OOC:

Chasing Knowldge on Acolytes of the Beyond - Dark Side cult, apparently venerated Vader etc.
Specifically: Yupe Tahsu's lost Texts, Journals, Holocrons etc.

Jakku
Another treasure hunt. Well he called it more knowledge. The more he delved into the force, the more the old man realized he was only beginning to scratch the surface of the thing. Yes he went by the Jedi code, but to truly understand ones place in all of it, one must know both sides.

He stepped down the ramp of another tramp freighter, and tossed the Captain a few creds he'd earned working bartender in the pub.

"That'll cover it then?"

"We got a regular contract on your rear end, so I'll just get more off ya later."

"Whatever helps friend, long as you're game to keep flying me to..... well the middle of nowhere."

"Would we be good businessmen if we didn't? Take care now!"

The Captain slapped the side of the ship and the ramp went up.

Zakath drew his tan cloak over his half plate duraplast armor and peered into the sweeping sandy wastes. Somewhere out here was the last place Yupe had visisted. Maybe he'd left a little clue or something behind....

(In search of the supposed Vader lightsaber, left behind by the Acolytes Of The Beyond, that bought it in hopes of crushing it and returning it to Vader in his death. As far as i'm concerned; they didn't get to destroy it)

IC:

As Kane stepped down the ramp of his starship, he could feel the wind sweeping the sand across the wastelands of Jakku, and he had landed on a stranded part of the planet. Nonetheless, he had his lightsaber semi-holstered, in case of threats.

He sought after the famed Vader lightsaber, that he was uncertain if the Acolytes of old had really acquired or if it's just a myth; as almost everything he hears is nowadays. What better place to start than the Jakku Observatory? The place where Yupe Tashu died; leader of the cultists and advisor for the Emperor.

The pursuit of knowledge was infinite to Kane, as he wished to gain ultimate power and wisdom.

It just so happened that Zakath was moving in the same direction as the young acolyte. There was many miles of sand a coughing. He bought a speeder at one point near a local scrapper yard. That took him the rest of the way until the exhaust clogged up and blew the repulsors. It sent him skidding sideways into the blazing hot sands, making him grimace as it flayed his skin.

After laying the bike down in the rough, he moved on, smarting from the accident.

At last he arrived at the building. A tall spire like thing, the top half blown off by a vicious battle that had occurred prior. The wreckage of X-Wings and TIE Fighters dotted the landscape, and womp rats feasted on the tiny morels of whatever was left in and around them.

"Disgusting." He said, more to himself than anyone.

As he approached the main staircase, he looked it up and down. Tons of holes where proton bombs had wrecked it. The door though, it felt weird, almost as if......

"Trapped maybe?"

He'd heard of force wards, but never actually seen one.

(OOC [member="Kane Mylek"], someone already has ownership of that saber unfortunately, unless you were after on of his other sabers)

Jakku was a place of many things, scrape history... bodies, dead bodies, those from long ago, their corpses dried out from the blistering heat of the day, preserved in a rather, off putting manner, one that made most people look away. For Elise though, oh it was a prime area to attain such rare specimens, with all the wars going on and that massive plague that struck the galaxy all those years ago finding decently preserved skeletons was a hard task, thank the force Jakku was left mostly unaffected. After all the entire planet had less stuff on it then Tatooine, and that place was still a massive hell hole to live in.

All in all the totally normal not in anyway a Sith lord anthropologist was out on her usual treks on an inhospitable world, speeder bike gliding across the sandy dunes, reaching one of the massive wedged shaped ships from the Empire. ".... why do the designs of these things never change, like really 3000 years and yet still the same design, no wonder they lost the war". Giving a small sigh Elise dismounted from the worn and used speeder, a small scarf wrapped around her mouth to keep out the sand, along with some goggles to shield her eyes. Ture it would have been easier to use the force, but Elise did not want to draw any unwanted attention, her signature hidden too just to be safe, one could never be certain of the beings they would find out in the wast lands.

(OOC) [Well, let's just say i want to rp, and seeing as there are two like-minded individuals, being sith, and a Jedi, this will most likely be an interesting encounter, even if my character doesn't find the saber.]

Kane could feel the wind sweeping the sands right into his goggles, that he had brought for this occasion, specifically. He would go walking to the Observatory, seeing as he wasn't that far away from the Observatory.

After long minutes, he could perceive he was about 200 meters or so from the Observatory, according to the radar he held with him. He would eventually find out if the stories are true and if what happened here, and who died here, held great knowledge on the Sith.. and on Vader.

Perhaps he was on the wrong location for this; perhaps not.

Again he felt that prickling presence on the nape of his neck. It was the same one he'd felt when being followed on Crystalsong. He knew he was not alone.

With a wary aye he stepped up the bomb blasted stairs and closed in on the entrance. The force glowed and buzzed within him as he approached, and he knew for sure it was a force ward. The door was either trapped or sealed.

Stupid, he placed his hand on the thing, and received a sharp shock of force lightning that cast him to the steps laid out on his back. Smoke arced and curled from his body.

"Darkside....cough....definitely."

After a few seconds, Kane could see the shape of the observatory starting to become a bit clearer.

Eventually the shape came into his line of sight - a spiral building with it's top missing, for what reason he didn't know.

He saw someone being shocked in the front entrance and started walking in the direction of the person.

He'd see this man, barely, and ask:

"You ok?"
Whilst extending his hand to offer him help.

Disembarking from her speeder Elise felt a sudden sharp spike in the force, like someone had just activated a trap or released some pent up darkness from long ago. "hmmm seems I am not the only one here... interesting, probably should take a look before hand, would rather not have to kill anyone today". Walking around a little her gaze fell upon two people, one seemed to be on the sand, maybe the one who was subjected to the sudden dark feeling? Judging from a few scorch markings on the sand and the smell of smoldering fabric it seemed mister head on sand was struck by force lightning.

The other person seemed to be helping the downed bearded hero, though judging from current actions the two were not acquainted yet, this would prove interesting. "Perhaps I can piggy back on their own little expeditions", after all if there was more traps she could need someone else to 'set them off'. Putting on a cheerful smile, cloaking her froce presance and putting out a fake light side aura the youthful looking woman approached the duo, "well hello there, fancying meeting other out here".

When the stranger came up his eyes widened. He thought for a second of going for his saber. The other man exuded an essence not unlike the very door he had touched. But alas Jedi and Sith had quarreled for far too long, and he could not be sure the other was even a Sith at that.

However the newer girl, she was definitely reeking with the darkside.

He kept his cool and took the mans hand, hauling himself up and dusting off his cloak and half plate.

"Thanks for that. Who might the both of you be? Know anything about Darkside Force Wards?"

He hooked a thumb at the door.

"That doors giving me some troubles."

Doubtless they'd feel his meek light side padawan presence, but hey there was no need to be uncivilized.

But if one of them strikes, I will certainly defend myself and whats mine.....
Wow listen to me, getting selfish.

Suddenly the force ward and even the door itself seemed to expand as though it took in a deep breath before slowly reverting to its natural state.
Something had just awoken from beyond the door.

Now an eerie presence filled the area like a thick smog.
And finally the force manifested with a deep purple like energy upon the door as an intricate circular lock that slowly began to unlock

"Perhaps we should introduce ourselves later, we have more trouble ahead of us."

He took his crimsom red lightsaber out of his holster with the Force and held it tightly, his eyes a bit yellow-ish, as he relied on the Dark Side for power and control. He was fearing the worst. He could feel the imminent danger. Perhaps i should leave... come back another day. -He thought to himself. But he knew he couldn't. If something or someone would leave that door, it would chase him down endlessly.

"I don't think that door is the only thing that'll trouble you for much longer."
-He said, making light of the situation, despite being nervous himself.

He then ignited his crimsom saber, and stood in a defensive position, waiting.

Elise cocked her head to the side at the injured mans question about the ward, feinting ignorance over much knowledge in the force, "well I know what a ward is a how it works, but not really sure on how ones deals with em". As for her name? well she was willing to tell the two but came to a sharp stop at the sudden dark presence emenating from the complex, earning a fake timid look from the youthful force user. "Um, I as not expecting something like this", herself wondering if the two men in her immediate area were combat capable to take on what ever was locked up in that room.

As the door ticked and moved around Elise made her way behind [member="Zakath Tariz"], sort of hiding behind him, their tall height working well in that regard. At the same time her eyes looking towards the now easily recognized Sith draw their saber, in a combat stance, ready to cut down anything that would come through that door.

Elise remarked.

"I have a notion as well, just not how to crack one," He replied

Then the door clicked, and it was clear the ward would take care of itself.

It was odd that the newcomers were both Darksiders. The orange glow of the others eyes unnerved him, but he shrugged. One could not afford to be picky in situations like this. Besides he was here studying the Darkside itself, and it's followers.

Whatever was behind the door, must have been worthy of the Cult itself. Hopefully nothing related too closely to Vader.

"Indeed. Perhaps that is wise. I will stand with you."

He took his place, to Kane's left and slightly back. Then his own silver cylinder met his palm with a meaty smack.

"Let us see what lies beyond then."

The final piece of the circular force manifested lock clicked into place before slowly fading away allowing the door to slide open.
The air became stagnant as all traces of anything resembling warmth was quickly smothered by the chill that filled it. Within the darkened chamber there was only a faint glow of what appeared to be tiny deep purple lightening bolts, matching the color of the force ward, then they were accompanied by two blazing sulfuric orange orbs that locked upon the three explorers.

Before anyone could react two burning white saber blades ignited with a threatening hiss revealing a great beast.
He stood at 7'5 and was easily 300 pounds judging by his sheer mass that was distributed evenly through out his form.
His skin was as pale and hard like marble complete with black tribal markings that covered his exposed skin. It was clear to those who'd traversed the galaxy he was a native of Dathomir hybridized with something else.
The small bolts of lightening emitted from cracks that trailed here and there over his body, as if it were attempting to contain a great source of energy but at the cost of his own body.

The man took a single step forwards, out of the chamber, examining the three. Then slowly his lips parted and a low guttural voice formed a single word:

"Die.."

Though his words and tone were completely calm his actions were not as he quickly was lifted seemingly unnaturally into the air, his body twisting into a cyclone of movement with his blades extended outward, coming down between the three attempting to divide.

Without saying a word, Kane kept looking at the misterious figure for a while, until two white sabers were ignited. He felt the Dark Side, it was as if it was consuming the entity on the other side of the ward, now open.

As he stared at the intimidatingly tall individual say those simple 3 words, he felt an increasingly high energy of the Dark Side.

When Kane saw the man levitating, and going to attack them, he leaped to the opposite side of him, at about 5 feet away. He still held his crimsom saber in his hand.

[member="Darth Cremaetus"] | [member="Elise Ike"] | [member="Zakath Tariz"]

Elise had not felt this sense of sinister energy in quite a while, a signature that you would expect from a Sith lord harboring hate against one thing... or a Sith that had been locked up in some sort of cell for force know how long. One thing was certain though, that was one pissed Zarbak, the yellow beady eyes being quite the pretty sight to behold, even if the person behind them have very unwelcoming intent towards the trio.

Keeping up the act of an almost defenseless researcher just wandering around Elise put on a scared dreaded expression, stumbling and falling back as the large pale Sith made his bold attack upon those standing outside. "W-wh-what is that? some sort of Sith Lord"? Of course she knew the answer, but it would be fun to see how the youngsters treated one another, if things went bad perhaps she'd step in, but for the moment Elise was fine with standing to the side lines.

Cremaetus' tactic to divide would prove successful. Zakath skipped back two steps and then the silver cylinder buzz with a snap-hissssss as a sapphire blade sprang to life. The thrum felt good in his hands. He steeled his nerves with the force, though it was polluted here, much like clear water, mixed with oil.

Too much darkness...

As the other pressed his attack, he was out of range then. His left foot slid forward, right foot back and he held his blade angled, from hip to shoulder in a defensive posture. Once the Zabrak landed, he pressed his attack in a millisecond, shuffling forwards as the sapphire light-saber began to weave a protective cage of light around his frame. He pushed in, keeping up the flow of the defense....

The Dathomirian Hybrid immediately lunged for the wielder of the sapphire blade first, his movements surprisingly both quick and nimble for a creature of his size.

His skill with his blades was quite masterful as he clashed his left blade, produced from an extended grip hilt, catching the blue blade mid-swing. His right saber, an exquisitely designed chromium curved hilt with electrum accents, quickly swung around and clasped down on the enemy blade with the first like scissors before his right foot rose with blinding speed to knock his opponent back.
Clearly his style being one of overtaking an enemy and constant attack.
However, instead of capitalizing on the small advantage he quickly lept back, twisting around to face the other two, then lunged forwards, his right blade held outward to gore the girl who attempted to remain out of the confrontation.

With his right blade aimed towards her solar plexus his left was suddenly thrown with a twisting curve at the Sith Lord who'd jumped to his flank.

He would not be outmatched.

His focus was split yet remained as solid as steel.

OOC: It's been a few days, so I'm going to continue, also a friendly reminder it is considered poor form to call hits on another char. I will take it as you seem new, and for the sake of the story. :)

The Zabrak wielded considerable power. The kick sent Zakath staggering, and by the time he'd reacted, the Sith had made to spear the other Sith with only one blade. That left a single blade to contend with. Something Zakath was comfortable doing.

"Hmpph."

He re established his footing, right foot back, left forwards and shuffled in, launching a tempered precise strike with an underhand flick of the wrist towards the Sith's leg. Then he rotated his elbow and transitioned into a thrust for his unprotected side, with a quick retraction back to his guard.

That was the beauty of precise saber work. Commit too much power into your blows, and recovering your guard would be much slower.

His stomach throbbed from the blow, but he ignored that, for now....

Elise rolled her eyes at the Zabrak Sith, looking to see that the younger boy was keeping good distance, probably due to the gap in power between him the Jedi and their opponent. It seems though that mister locked up in a ship was now aimin for her stomach, the youthful woman raising an eye brow before side stepping the thrust, her expresssino changing to a sort of annoyed look.

As the Jedi made his own attack Elise decided now was a decent time to get involved, a bladed cylinder coming for hirer sleeve, a crimson red blade igniting from it’s end as she made a downwards swing onto the other sith Saber. Her aim temporarily put him off guard and allow the Jedi to land a mortal blow of some kind, though she had a feeling this Sith would not be taken out so easily.
