Description:
The Acheron is designed to be a swift ship capable of closing with an enemy vessel and unleashing its shuttles in a boarding effort. To that end it is moderately well armed and shielded, however it sacrifices what maximum potential in those areas to achieve extreme speed. Room for a backup shield generator, or additional turbolaser powerbanks is instead utilized to house bigger engines than is usual in a vessel of its size and class. Designed to close rapidly then deploy boarding forces, it carries a shuttle compliment of Katarn-class boarding shuttles, which are all equipped with nose end airlocks and plasma torches, able to cut through an enemy hull and then board. It also carries Zero G troopers who can be deployed into space outright.
