Mother of Pearl

Image Source: Nordstrom.comIntent: To create a wearable device that absorbs electrical energy.
Development Thread: If Necessary
Manufacturer: Heartbeat House
Model: N/A
Affiliation: Closed Market
Modularity: Yes, comes in various colors and styles
Production: Limited
Material: Durasteel components, insulative material, absorption material
Strengths:
-Negates electrical attacks including those that are Force based when they come within ~0.5 meters of the wearer
-Fairly durable
Weaknesses:
-Interferes with any electrical attacks that the wearer tries to initiate
-Can be overloaded by a constant charge (~30-60 seconds) or a very powerful charge
Description:
The AbsorBelt was created in order to negate electrical attacks from harming the wearer, whether it be though an electrified weapon or Sith lightning. The device resembles a belt and is intended to be worn securely around the waist for it to provide proper protection against electricity. The AbsorBelt works by drawing electricity within the vicinity (~0.5m) of the wearer to itself where it is stored safely, gradually dissipating harmlessly over time. As the energy dissipates, the belt may vibrate slightly, though this will not be noticeable if worn over thicker clothing or most armors. The AbsorBelt can defend against ranged lightning attacks as well electrically charged melee weapons such as a taserblade. While the device is being worn, the user will be unable to produce any electrical attacks of their own as they would immediately be redirected into the belt.
The AbsorBelt can be overloaded by a consistent charge or an exceptionally powerful electrical attack. For example, if someone were to be stabbed with an electrically charged blade while wearing the AbsorBelt, the electricity from the blade would be absorbed into the belt normally (while only negating electrical damage to the wearer, not any melee damage). However, if the knife were to remain in contact with the wearer, the belt would continually absorb electricity until it overloads itself after 30-60 seconds depending on the strength of the charge. A consistent electrical attack, such as Force Lightning may also overload the belt if it is strong enough and lasts long enough.
