Emmett Hayes, largely identified by his codename Abaddon, is a COMPNOR operative specializing in black operations revolving mainly around liquidation of targets, sabotage, and acquisition. He is mostly renowned for his impeccable efficiency and brutality. Emmett Hayes considers the failure of project Sheol, and his subsequent becoming of Abbadon, as an extension of his will to protect his family. In his eyes, Abaddon is a blessing in disguise, rather than a curse.

Hayes enrolled in the army of the fledgling Galactic Republic around the age of eighteen. He served through numerous deployments against the superior forces of the One Sith, earning multiple decorations. As the Republic's war efforts continued to struggle against the One Sith, he was drafted into insurgent units operating behind enemy lines specializing in terminating leading figures with the aim of disrupting Sith operational integrity and stalling their advance. Despite short-lived successes, the Republic fell to the One Sith, and Hayes was forced to flee the Core.

"Seeking retribution against the Sith, he joined the Antarian Rangers of the Silver Jedi. However, instead of finding reckoning, he was blessed with a family and long-deserved peace. Soon after the birth of his firstborn son, Hayes retired from the rangers and was employed as a security consultant in the Trade Federation, briefly serving as Gat Tambor's bodyguard, before being relegated to more menial tasks when his daughter was born.

The monotonous life of marriage and amassing of wealth, unknown and unnatural to the turbulent life he led as a special operator, caught up to him. Hayes indulged in gambling and alcohol, and while he kept that life under rugs, it eventually seeped into his daily life and pulled a strain on his marriage and family. Yet, the final nail in the coffin was the eruption of war between the Silver Jedi and the Sith Empire. Driven by unsettled scores and an escape both from his sins and marriage, Hayes re-enlisted into the Antarian Rangers.

The war broke the Silvers as it broke his family; seeking security and stability, his wife took their children to the Sith Empire whose strength as a superpower provided her the protection and life she claimed to have never received from her husband. Shattered, Hayes filled the void left in his heart by indulging in the only life he came to know - sins and guns. He found employment as a mercenary and assassin-for-hire briefly before the resurgence of the Silver Jedi gave him the opportunity for reckoning against the Sith for all they had taken, once more.

Hayes joined the Rangers for the third time and was inserted into the newly-formed Task Force Raider led by Setter Ryburn. With the likes of Tulan Kor and Amon Vizsla in their ranks, task force Raider came to be known as an elite, multi-functional unit that proved its worth by playing a decisive role in the decimation of the United Clans of Mandalore. The victory of the fearsome warrior clans rejuvenated spirits and reinforced the belief within the common men and women of Raider that there is finally a chance against the Sith.

The chance never came for a multitude of reasons, none in the grasp of the Raiders. Disillusioned with the political leadership and cause of the newly-established Concord, along with the deserting of Amon Vizsla, Hayes went rogue following Master Sergeant Kor. They operated as a highly-trained, deadly and violent vigilante force briefly and soon defected to the New Imperial Order seeking to finally bring that long-desired retribution on the Sith. Reforming as Demon Company within the structures of the New Imperial Armed Forces, Hayes served at both the Reclamation of Bastion and the Battle of Dantooine.

During the latter offensive, he inadvertently caused the death of his son who served in the ranks of the Sith-Imperial Citizen's Army, a sugar-coated militia of human shields. Hayes was officially proclaimed killed-in-action after a forlorn assault on the heavily defended local garrison of the Sith. Unofficially, he was found and extracted by COMPNOR agents from the fields of battle and forcibly enrolled into the so-called project Sheol. A top-secret, experimental project led and conceived by nefarious scientist Moff Zori Kapshan.

Without any moral barriers, and with the use of Cell-X, Moff Kapshan sought to create a supreme form of a soldier for the New Imperials. However, the project was largely a failure, par for Hayes, and Kapshan soon departed citing taxation reasons. As the only survivor of project Sheol, and given the codename of Abaddon, Hayes embraced the gifted capabilities and the attached drawbacks.
