Strengths:
  • Precision Made: The A13, like everything made by Desert Coat Arms is an extremely well made blaster. Every piece, every part, every little detail on all the A13's in existence is made with the love and care that one might show a child. Every single A13 that leaves the little Mos Eisley shop of DCA is made with a certain amount of perfection. All the pieces are hand tooled, checked for quality, and individually assembled before testing. All of the A13's hold this quality, and that quality makes them just a little bit better than say...a mass manufactured piece of trash like the Vanir Technologies RAM Disruptor. This quality makes the A13 beautifully accurate, wonderfully reliable(if well maintained) and all around a little bit more personal.
Weaknesses:
  • No Replacements: As one might expect from a weapon made in a singular shop on Mos Eisley, there aren't many replacement parts. If something breaks on your A13 and you can't fix it yourself, you're poodoo out of luck. If the trigger assembly, sights, or even really anything essential breaks and it's not an easy fix you're going to have to go back to Tatooine. This can get incredibly annoying, especially in a galaxy were scuffles and scrapes are more common than one might expect. Whereas with a WESTAR of a VT gun one might be able to find replacement parts, it's not easy with an A13, or anything made by DCA.
Description:
The A13 Desert Blaster was originally designed and created by Desert Coat Arms to function as their standard production design Blaster. The weapon isn't anything unique or special as far as blasters go, just very well made.

The gun itself holds a very simplistic design, reminiscent of the old WESTAR-34 with a slight more rustic look to it. The Blaster was designed to be able to stand quite a beating, reflecting the nature of the world that it was created on. To allow for this the parts of the blaster were created to have a little bit of wiggle room in them, while still maintaining incredibly high quality. This quality is truly what makes the A13 unique.

Unlike other manufacturers in the galaxy Desert Coat Arms does not mass-produce it's weapons.

Instead the company carefully and painstakingly creates each blaster to be made to order.
Though this makes the weapons slightly more expensive, it also makes them far more higher end. Other corporations focus on creating as many blasters as possible, using stamped sheet metal, plasteel molds, or Dallorrian Alloy cutouts, DCA does not do this. Instead each piece within the blaster is carefully cut down and carved and then placed into the blaster itself. They are carefully designed and built up to order. Each one is the same, but holds a tiny little quirk depending on who ordered it and their own specific design. Due to that these blasters have a certain personality that others don't.

A great example is the blaster that was designed by Kurt Meyer.

The weapon was ordered by Kurt's father and built to his specifications, given to his son as a Birthday gift. Kurt, during his tenure in the navy, earned several marksmenship awards and back home was known for hunting Womp rats with his friends, as such his person A13 was designed for this. The weapon has a more comfortable grip, holographic sights, and a slightly longer barrel.

All A13's are customized in this way, containing small quirks that suit them to their owner.
