A Trip to the Lake (Zak Dymo)

The order had recently lost two superb masters. Master Rekali had perished when somebody vented the atmosphere, and now the grandmaster was gone. And so the time had come for Nefertari Sovint, Jedi Knight to back off for a bit. She desired to be a master, but that currently seemed insane to her.

She was preparing to return to the sphere from whence she sprang. Then she recalled what had happened when she met her padawan [member="Zak Dymo"]
The youngling was originally upset when he found out that Nef was to be his master, but she'd brought him around with a few things the last one which remained unfulfilled was a promise of taking Zak to Naboo.

She sent a holo-recording to her friend
"Zak, I know it is unexpected, but it is time for me to deliver on that promise of a trip to Naboo. Be ready."

Where would they go? Time would tell, but the city of Otoh Gunga came to mind.

Naboo!

To start with, it was fun to say. No, seriously! Say it with me now: NA-BOOOOOOOO!

When you're nine, it really is the little things that amuse you. In any case, there was lots and lots for the aquatic tourist to see or explore about Naboo. There was Otoh Gunga, which was located inside Lake Paonga. There was also a strait that connected the lake to Lianorm Swamp -- which had a pod-racing track! So it was like going to the pool, the aquarium, AND getting in some illegal gambling... all on the same vacation!

Suffice to say, the young Nautolan was more than excited.

Would they stay at Otoh Gunga? Or that human capital place thing? Reed, Sneed, Greed... whatever it was called. Zak hoped they were gonna stay in Otoh Gunga, but Master Neffy would probably be more comfortable in a more terrestrial environment.

Zak really liked his terrestrial friends, and some of his bestest friends were mouth breathers, but he seriously wanted to go camping on Mon Cala or Lamaredd sometime. Maybe he could convince [member="Makai Dashiell"] they needed a no dry land adventure sometime...

Their journey began beside Lake Paonga. Nefertari strapped on a rebreather and dove in, surfacing to make sure her padawan was following and not gallivanting off to gamble on a podrace or something like that. Even though she grew up rich, Nef had learned that money was not something to be wasted. And her feelings told her of a house edge at those things.

Indeed, Nefertari could see the youngling had no intention of anything like that...at least not yet.

The knight began swimming toward the gungan city where she had spent many days as a padawan. Who knew what awaited them there?

One of the Chandrila noble's frustrations was likely to be that her padawan could still talk under water.

Diving and swimming with a grace that seemed almost otherworldly, the boy was chattering non-stop as the pair swam toward Otoh Gunga. "And... and... in the core, there's 'sposed to be goober fish the size of a star destroyer!" the child was commenting just then, talking about fish tales and urban myths of the wildlife present in Naboo's oceans.

With the aid of his native, low light vision, the boy could already see the city of the Gungans ahead of them. "Is that it?" the boy asked, curiously.

Otoh Gunga. The road to adventure!

...wait, were there roads underwater? So, the current to adventure! No, that doesn't sound right either. The undertow to adventure? Riptide?

Oh whatever. Enough of this post already, you know what I mean!

A large school of fish swam by, the sun reflecting a rainbow of color off their scales. With this place being like an aquarium, Nef wondered why this wasn't a more popular tourist attraction.

Lights came into view; the hydrostatic bubbles of Otoh Gunga.

Nefertari was about to direct Zak's attention until she remembered what humans sound like underwater. The two passed through the bubble, and Nef took off her breather
"Okay, Zak. First things first-
they were stopped by an Ankura, obviously a city guard
"Whosa are yousa?"

Wet meant happy and happy was a wet Nautolan.

With puddles forming under his feet, the small green child easily slid across the floor so that he was between Master Neffy and the Gungan. "Preeeeeeee-senting the Lady Sovint of Chandrila!" the boy boasted, gesturing back toward the lady with both arms in an exaggerated flourish of motion. And once again imitating S-3DO's archaic form of speech. Also exaggerated.

Normally, the droid handled these sorts of things. Except he was a droid and not very compatible with water. So Zak would have to do. Of course, Zak would do even if Zak wouldn't do, because what wouldn't Zak do?

"Jedi Knight and Countess of Rosedge, at your service my good fellow!" the child added, before giving a quick bow toward the guard.
