Public A Shady Bar on Nar Shaddaa

Plume

On the run Sith Apprentice
Nar Shadaa, the Smuggler's Moon ... that's where she landed after her desperate escape from Korriban. She arrived there two days ago, accompanied by the pilot who helped her against his own will. She could not risk him to go back to her former masters and tell them where she went, so Plume killed him and got out of the space ship. They landed 35km away from Hutta Town, the nearest city. Plume did not want to land too close, in order to not be spotted. The young girl then walked for two full days, eating the few small animals she encountered and drinking whatever she could drink. She did not get any luck, on the third day, she was starving and way too thirsty. But that's when she finally arrived.

She wandered for some time in the streets and alleys of the gloomy town. Her look and her outfit did not match the surroundings at all, people looked at her weirdly. She was overtired and about to pass out. She managed to enter this kind of shady bar where we are now and collapsed on the counter. Then she started to speak, alternating between speaking Mando'a and Galactic Basic.

"
Water ... Water ... Drink ... Drink ... Water ... Drink ..."

She hoped to be understood by someone, as she did not know at all which languages were spoken on this planet.

Rav was looking for his target. Rav figured he’d do some honest Bounty Hunting on the side. Rav had enough contacts among the Hutts, that he was able to pick and choose his selection of bounties. As much as he’d like to claim it was just his charming personality, which he frequently claimed. Rav privately thought it had more to do with the fact that Hutts got lonely. Living for centuries in a society, culture, business and galaxy where you could be killed at anytime, people with longevity were rare, whether they died from a blaster bolt or old age. Having a few aquantences who didn’t die every other decade was a little comforting.

Currently he was after a Spice runner who had been skimming off the top. Rav had tracked him down to a shady bar on Nar Shaddar. Which on Nar Shaddar was saying something. The Hutts had enough muscle on the planet they could have handled it themselves, but Rav had called in the favor or vice versa he wasn’t quite sure.

Rav was hunting for his bounty, when he overheard a sound he didn’t here much these days. Mando’a. With Mandalorians scattered across the galaxy, the language along with the people were increasingly rare. She sounded scared and desperate. Rav cursed.

“Karabas”

Rav huffed.

duumar baatir verbori” (allow me to care for and buy for you)

Rav turned to the bartender

“Water”

The Bartender grunted

“Plumbings off no water. Just drinks”

Rav growled

“Fine two tiharr then.”

Rav got the drink and offered it to the poor girl.

“Oya”

Rav drunk first to show it wasn’t poison.

Plume's eyebrow raised. She seemed surprised to find someone ready to help her. She lived for many years on this doomed planet named Korriban, where apprentices had, most of the time, no considerations for their comrades. Almost all of them were kidnapped away from their friends and families but, surprisingly, there were no signs of solidarity. She wasn't very surprised by hearing the man speaking Mando'a. She wasn't aware of the situation of her people across the Galaxy ...

She looked at the drink Rav bought for her, she wasn't sure she heard the name well. She took her glass and drunk it all in one shot, she was too thirsty to ask questions. The strong liquor burned her throat but instead of grumbling, she smiled. This taste, she almost forgot it, as it was the first time in a long time she drunk some Tihaar. Memories of her childhood, of her parents telling her she could only dip her lips in this typical Mandalorian drink, were some of the best things she ever felt in many months.

She looked at Rav, thankfully.

"Thank you so much, sir ... but why ..?"

She knew that in this damn world, nothing was free. The unknown man probably wanted something from her ...

Kes sat at the bar without his helmet, his scarred face and pirate tattoo above his eyebrow was easily soon. Kes hadn't been back to Nar Shaada since he left to return to his Mandalorian roots. He felt weird being back. It brought back some good and many bad memories, from getting high on spice with the scum of the galaxy to being thrown tortured by a rival gang. It seemed like it was life ago, even though it couldn't have been more than a year since he had begun following the Resol'nare once more.

He drank the rest of it before turning to see a young girl wander into the bar. He watched her ask for water and was intrigued when he heard her speak Mando'a. The Feeorin Mandalorian move to help her, he also seemed to be speaking Mando'a. It wasn't unusual for Mandalorian's to be on Nar Shaada, it was Bounty Hunter and Mercenary heaven after all, no shortage of jobs and a legendary nightlife found nowhere else on the galaxy. It also wasn't unusual to take young mandalorians on a hunt, to give them experience but from the girl's roughed up look, lack of direction and strange clothing he wasn't too sure this was the case. He turned to face Rav Bralor Rav Bralor , the insignia of the mythosaur head struck out with a red cross clearly visible on his brestplate. "Oi, she with you?" he asked, curious to see what was going on.

Venku stalked into the bar, tail lashing and ears pinned against his head underneath the buy’ce. He had been on Nar shaddaa for weeks now, trying to find work. So far the most he’d received was more leads to other possible employers or blaster bolts. Some people really had a gear to grind against mandalorians. Not that he was really surprised.

All he wanted now was a drink and something to punch. Thankfully Nar Shadda seemed to have a surplus of both. Unfortunately getting in a fight with someone else probably wouldn’t do him any favors when it came to getting a job. And he really needed that job, his ship was running low on gas, and he didn’t want to try and break atmo only to fail because he didn’t have enough gas. That would be painful. And messy. And probably end in his death. Honestly he probably shouldn't even be buying alcohol, if only to save his money. But he didn’t have any tihaar on ship, and right now, with everything going on with himself and mandalore in general, he needed a reminder of home.

His thoughts had just begun to drift to his brother, when the use of mando’a drew his attention. Freezing in his tracks, golden eyes flicked from mando’ad to mando’ad. When he had said he needed a reminder of home, this wasn’t what he had in mind. Around him were two, maybe three other mandos. With a jolt, the togorian continued his path to the bar, tail momentarily stilled behind him.

"What a dump," Zeke groaned as he stepped into the bar. Two monitor droids floating at his shoulders quickly scanned the room. Zeke shrugged and sniffed impatiently. "You get back to the ship. It's not likely you're welcome in here anyway. Just be ready in case things go South."

"You mean when things go South?" asked the driod to his left.

"Red, you talk back to me like that again and I'll scrap you myself, you floating calculator," said Zeke irritably. Then he cocked his head toward the droid on the right. "Blue, make sure you both get back to the ship quickly and in one peice."

"Is this where you're supposed to meet the man in purple?" Blue asked. Did it really produce a tone that sounded like worry?

"I said get back to the ship, and keep your speakers turned off while you're floating!!!" Zeke hissed, grabbing the questioning droid and pushing it forcefully toward the ground but without actually forcing it to the floor. "You're gonna get us killed before we're even in position."

"We're on our way, Captain!" Both droids cried before darting back out the door like blaster bolts. Zeke finally a step further into the bar. As far as he knew, the answer to droid's question was no, but he wasn't entirely sure. At any rate, spouting identifying markers of any kind in a place like this was a bad idea. Zeke finally took a seat at the bar and ordered a mid-shelf drink. As soon as the barkeep walked away after handing him his glass, he sighed heavily, grateful he'd made it this far without so much as having his life threatened just for existing.

Sinbad and Zoltan

Crimson ichor flowed betwixt his fingers. The metallic tang of copper filled his companion's mouth. Zoltan had watched the Iridorian enter a blood frenzied craze when he disembowled the pimp before them. The Epicanthix cared little for the Iridorian's blood rituals, but, as he dug round the pimps pockets, he found what he did care about. This man's credits.

When it became obvious the goon working for a certain Hutt did not have the information they sought the temptation to kill had enraptured the boy. Especially since he had already paid the filth for said information... But Sinbad, the Iridorian mercenary, insisted the honor was his. That he needed to receive the blessing of the Dathomiry night witches. So, Zoltan let him have his fun.

They had come to this retched planet in search of a artifact of immeasurable power. A generator powered by the Force and Isotope 5. Despite torturing at least a hundred low lifes, they had come no closer to finding it. It seemed they would have to tear Nar'shadaa apart in search of this Grotta the Hutt. Even then the chance that he would give up the treasures location seemed unlikely...

The Iridorian straightened himself from the pimps torso. He had ripped out the mans heart and bit into it with serrated teeth. "A poor kill. The night sister's shall not be pleased..." He said between mouthfuls of cardia. He had tore the pimp nearly in half leaving Zoltan to dig through his bloody pockets.

Now they were both covered in blood. Zoltan knew it would attract attention. The Iridorian's blood rituals normally weren't a problem, but in a ecumenopolis such as this it paid to keep a low profile. Zoltan righted himself from the cadaver and headed towards a back door of a rather seedy bar. He peeked within and saw no one within the kitchen. He was surprised as Sinbad ripped the door from his grasp and threw it open wide.

Zoltan scowled beneath his hood and entered. He made his way towards the large sink and began to wash himself with the water, Sinbad close behind him. That's when he sensed it. A ripple in the waters of the Force. Someone in here was a forcer...

"Something wrong?" Sinbad asked curiously.

Zoltan realized that he had paused a moment. Closing his eyes to better search the sea of life that was the force. He opened his amber gaze and knew there was another force user near. He finished washing himself then stated to Sinbad.

"I'll meet you up front. Drinks are on him," The youth said nonchalantly as he pointed through the door to the pieces of former pimp. Sinbad merely shook his head.

A small ping in the back of his mind, like a single note played louder against the symphony of the Living Force. And this note played a lustful tune indeed, malicious and thirsty for blood. Zeke wanted nothing to do other Force users, Jedi or Sith. He didn't have his lightsaber on him for starters, and this one was strong with the Dark Side. Blasters and Force Bubbles would not suffice. But there was another presence near-by the first. His affiliation to the Force was....unclear, but something about the timber of his aura...like he somehow held the leash of the Force user. Zeke wasn't sure if his assessment was completely correct, but he knew he didn't want to stick around long enough to meet them face to face. Zeke clicked a device inside his coat, pulled his hood tighter to his head, and finished his drink. Then he stood and turned, heading for the door at brisk, but not immediately alarming-to-others pace.

"If I can make it back to the Wyvern before they find me...I can survive," he whispered to himself.

With his drink in hand, Venku turned to the other mandalorians.

“Ni va mirdir birov Mando'ade olaror at ibic epar'yaim." {I no think many Mando'ade come to this bar.}

It really was a surprise to him. sure, he knew that other mandos were on Nar shaddaa, but he didn't think that anything like went on, a gathering of mandos in a public bar. None the less, he wasn't gonna look a gift horse in the mouth - much. Hence why he kept his helmet on and scanned his surroundings for any hostiles. You never could be too careful these days. It seems like almost everyone has something against the mando'ad.

"Ner gai cuyir Venku be aliit Bralor." {My name is Venku of clan Bralor.}
Maybe naming himself is a stupid thing to do, but he hadn't seen another mandalorian since he'd left home and his heart ached for the companionship of his people.

Rav smiled gently at the rag tag girl. Plume Plume Rav didn’t know who she was but that didn’t matter, she was a Mandalorian that was enough.

Aliit ori'shya tal'din (Family is more than Blood)

It was a common Mandalorian phrase, usually it referred to your Aliit. Your Clan. These days however Rav felt it applied to anyone who was Mandalorian.

Eo meg shekemir Resol'nare cuyir aliit (Anyone who follows the Resol’nare is family/clan)

Cad olyay bid kisol be mhi ba'slanar (There are so few of us left)

Rav explained further with a sad smile.

Mhi ne'waadas at umlarbilyr par solus ashi ( We need to look out for each other)

Rav sighed and took a seat as out of the shadows other Mandalorians came to the scene. Rav smiled at the irony. Scattered across the galaxy of course the place you’d find Mandalorians would be in a shady bar on Nar Shadda.

Rav looked up and down at the newcomers.

“She’s Mando, so yes, as are you.” Kes Stag

Rav laughed at the other arrival.
Venku Bralor Venku Bralor

“Rav be alit Bralor”

Rav reached out and grinned.

“Jate at haa'taylir a ru puse Mando, rala solus a baretr” (Good to see a non human Mandalorian, let alone a fellow Bralor)

"Be buskra'amtu solus naritir gar ganar mar'eyir a tsad be Ka'nuturiad b cuyir a anc'i chaavla sa shebs be'striili (Of course the one place you'd find a group of Mando's is a shady bar)

Rav laughed.

“Another round of drinks for my fellow Mandos!”

“Öya!”

She smiled at her savior and after drinking enough to be able to speak comfortably, she put her right fist against her chest and said.

"Family is more than blood."

She knew everything it meant. Even if her family died a few years ago, other fellow Mandalorians everywhere in the Galaxy would be with her. She didn't know how things worked for other races and cultures. She guessed she was a lucky girl, being born in such a tight-knit community. She knew that not wearing any piece of armor, like her, was an infringement to the Resol'nare. Maybe that wasn't important for Rav.

"I know there's only a handful of Mando'ades left, that's why I'm so surprised to find some in such a place ... It didn't seem to me that we were on a Mandalorian planet ... Are we ?"

She just knew the name of this crappy planet. Nar Shaddaa, that's what the pilot said before dying. She knew it wasn't controlled by those damn Siths too. So many other Mandalorians seemed to be in this bar. She greeted Kes with a small hand sign and just said.

"He's right, but I don't know him though ..."

She seemed lost, so many people were talking at the same time. She just lowered her eyes and took another drink.
