A Reunion Overdue [Invite/PM]

A world had separated them once. A world beyond the galaxy. He had not known it at first but something about the way home had planted these grains of information within him. A knowledge of points around the galaxy where reality had been pierced, ruptured by something terrifying. A land of nightmare that still had him questioning reality. The force and everything with it had turned into a catastrophe. Stealth masters turning themselves permanently invisible, healers without the means to aid those who needed them.

These were just things observable from the temple on Yavin IV that [member="Falcon Gyndar"] had left Aton at as he went off to help his -- What was the word? Vod? -- elsewhere. The entire galaxy at this point had become a severe mood crippler. It was hard not to think on those missing but most specifically it was [member="Mira Gyndar"]. The thought of her brought out a lump in his stomach. They had always been there together. Arguing, teasing, fighting, punching, hugging and in general been siblings together, and twins nonetheless. Now one half of the dynamic duo was missing which just severely messed up the whole everything.

Nothing was fun anymore except staring at the floor. Had the force not been acting as wonky as it had recently there could have been a training session or similar to attend in order to keep mind off of things but there wasn’t. All he seemed to do these days was take the occasional jog around the Temple grounds to keep that healthy lifestyle up but even then everything was just so mind numbingly… Weird.

Stick in one hand he sat upon a rock poking at the gravel in front of him. His elbow rested upon his knee and his free hand pressed gently against his cheek in a pose that could very well cause him to fall asleep should he so desire. A sigh passed him by and his face began to pout before excitedly waking up at the sound of a rustle in the distance.

“Mira?” The boy shone up, but no, it was not his sister. Probably just some animal running away at the sight of the lonesome boy upon a rock. With a second sigh he placed his head atop of his hand once again.

“Please, just come back home.” He sighed again as the eyes set upon the gravel again. “And soon.”

There were no tears. Either they had been spent already or Mira would show up any second and give him a hard time about it. Both seemed liked good explanations at this point, but he'd give anything for the latter.

Being a twin was something unique – to say the least.

She could feel most, if not everything, that [member="Aton Gyndar"] felt. She could feel his sorrow, she could feel his happiness and she could feel the lingering sensation of his mind reaching out to her own. It was almost, beyond the powers of the Force, maybe. Maybe it was the Force itself that connected them directly, the time they spent together – growing in their mother’s womb – the bond that was created was something that only they and perhaps even [member="Aaralyn Gyndar"] could identify with. With the Force out of balance and the Galaxy in turmoil – she hadn’t felt it, until now…

“Mira?” The voice of Aton echoed through the mind of the young girl and into the jungles of Yavin IV.

The young girl sat upright, cross-legged and concentrating on seemingly nothing, perhaps even trying to meditate without really meditating on the Force itself. She was on the upper tiers of the Massassi Temple, on an upper platform overlooking the jungles. Her eyes shot open at the sound of the voice, a smirk would come upon her young lips and she rose up, rushing across the platform and into the interior halls. She duck quickly to dodge a loader droid carrying a crate of supplies and maneuver to the side to avoid a Mandalorian Supply Officer of sorts taking inventory.

“ME’VEN!?” He said, spinning to watch the young girl fly past him in a disrespectful way. “Usen'ye vaar'ika!” He shouted after her, but she was already headed in another direction as it were – leaving the annoyed Supply Officer to his duties. The trip through the Massassi Temple was eventful, even dodging [member="Alec Rekali"] had a unique experience in its own right – her cousin – someone she looked up to in a lot of ways but never really got to truly sit down and hang out with. They’d have to change that when things calmed down.

She’d come bursting from the temple hangar, ruby colored eyes searching the grounds for that all too familiar form of [member="Aton Gyndar"]. An overwhelming sense of joy and desire to see her twin again burning in her very core. Her eyes would well up with tears, but not in a bad way – perhaps a gitty excitement and anticipation.

Tap for tap Aton had begun hitting the gravel around just to watch the tiny rocks succumb to gravity. In a strange kind of way it was fun. Or was it? His lips was suddenly smiling as the back of his mind itched with something he hadn’t felt in what felt like ages. A familiar feeling over a connection unlike any other.

It was [member="Mira Gyndar"]. It had to be.

His head popped up to scan his surroundings. It was all empty, but off in the distance there was something coming his way. A small figure with a stride ever so familiar from the times he had looked over his shoulder to see it come his way. He squinted at first to make sure it wasn’t a trick but sure enough the supposed illusion didn’t go away.

“Mira!” He set off into a sprint. “It’s you!”

The wind carried him forward, or at least it felt like it. He was going to see his sister again. Things were going to be okay, this was all going to get better. Tears welled up and quickly ran down his cheeks. Arms spread open with a feeble smile. This was the part where Aton would be getting some weird remark from his sister but did that really matter? No, not at this point.

They collided in a thud. “I’ve missed you, M.”

No words, only tears and hugs.

The impact against [member="Aton Gyndar"] was a bit harder than she anticipated and sent her reeling with a bit of stars and white, blurred vision - but only for a moment. She would laugh softly and hug him tightly, an embrace that was long overdue. She took a deep breath, inhaling the scent of her brother as if she had forgotten who he was - sort've like a Corellian slice hound or some pack animal. Weird, wasn't it? Maybe not, she was afterall a twin to Aton and had grown up with him almost every step of the way - except for the past few weeks or however long it had been.

None of that mattered now, they were together.

She held onto him just a bit longer, before letting to and taking a step back to look him over. "You seem ok! Which is good! Have you seen Dad!?" She said excitedly, looking around Aton for [member="Falcon Gyndar"]. She didn't allow him to answer before talking again. "I saw mom the other day, she said she had to go to some, uh...." She made some gestures with her hands, furrowing her eyebrows. "Meeting on Kessel." She snapped her fingers together and pointed at Aton.

It was hard to not just stand still and let the hug take whatever amount of time it needed. The many names ran through his mind to prepare himself for the part that came next. Softie, crybaby, whimp, wuss and weirdo. Yet none of them were called out. All there was to it was the prolonged smelling and hugging which ended in questions about their father.

Mirroring his sister he too took a step back. “Dad’s away with the others ensuring we don’t lose anymore people to this… Thing that’s going on.”

He’d not heard of this meeting though perhaps it was as good of an explanation as any as to why he had not find her before. Which was probably for the best too. The more thought he put into how the two twins hadn’t run into each other yet was starting to get a bit weird but perhaps it was simply a bunch of unfortunate circumstances.

“I hope he’s okay.” A worried expression set across his face. The rubbing of hands upon wrists began. “I don’t know if it happened to you too, but there was this place. I don’t know what it was, I was… It’s… It was a dark place. A river, I…”

“Where have you been? Did you touch the ferrymen too?”

[member="Mira Gyndar"]

Mira furrowed her eyebrows and then raised her right brow in question. "Aton, are you feeling ok? Did I touch...the...ferryman?" She couldn't help herself, her right hand came up to her mouth as she concealed the snicker as best as she could but she couldn't help it. She would burst out laughing suddenly backing up, waving her hands. "I'm sorry! I mean it! I can..." She'd laugh again, bending down to grab her stomach with both arms, her face turning slightly red. For a moment or two, she felt as if she were going to pass out before she rose up, her eyes watering from tears of laughter - she'd compose herself and extend her arms towards Aton. "C'mere crybaby! You just had a bad dream!"

[member="Aton Gyndar"]

“No, Mira. I did not.” It was like a plea for his sister to understand. “I can’t explain it but there were boats, a blonde woman, dad and me as well as the ferrymen. We had been-... No, I had been napping in the usual spot up in my tree. Except when I woke up I wasn’t here anymore, I was on one of the boats.”

It felt really stupid when explained like this. Then he remembered it, that one itty bitty thing he had forgotten until now. “I touched one of the ferrymen and woke up again. On Voss with dad but the Silver Jedi helped us home.”

Then came the moment of truth “It’s what has happened to all these people, Mira. There’s rifts all around the galaxy like entry points to a whole other dimension and to be honest that scares the craaaa-... -mps out of me.” Swear jar present? No. Good. “I don’t know why I know this, but I do. There are rifts all over Alderaan, Dathomir, Voss, Coruscant, Nar Shaddaa, Dromund Kaas, Fondor and a lot of other places.”

He accepted the hug, again. “So call me a crybaby all you want but I’ve been terrified about anything happening to you and mum the over the last few days and I am just glad to see everything is alright.”

[member="Mira Gyndar"]

Mira hugged him tight and as she did so, she'd frown heavily. She could feel the genuine emotional discomfort coming from her brother. She felt the truth in what he spoke, maybe it was his tone or maybe it was his facial expressions. Either way, she felt it. She'd hug him tight and gently rub his back before pulling away and placing a hand on his shoulder - her head would tilt down as she'd attempt to gaze into his diverted eyes, trying to reassure him. "I won't let anything happen to you, I promise...and this will hopefully be all over soon and you can forget about all of that mess, ok?"

It seemed too weird.

All of this, what the hell was the galaxy coming to? When would it all end?

[member="Aton Gyndar"]

And then there was yet another hug. At this rate they had probably beat their weekly hug quota by 100% already. “I hope you’re right, Mira. I really do.”

Then the real topic just lingered in the air, the question that hadn’t really been asked that he should have. If Mira hadn’t been to the place of nightmares, where had she been? Clearly not all had gone there but Voss had been rather lacking when Falcon and Aton had found their way to the temple.

He sighed. “What happened to you? I mean, if you didn’t go to that other place, where did you go?”

Because it was clearly not home or they would have found each other one way or the other.

[member="Mira Gyndar"]

Mira had been hiding something from her twin, and she knew that he knew something was up. She could feel his suspicion. It was something she hadn't shown [member="Falcon Gyndar"] or [member="Aaralyn Gyndar"] but maybe [member="Aton Gyndar"] wouldn't say anything....if she showed him and told him the truth as to where she had been.

"I was helping out some friends...?" She motioned with her right hand. "I was on Coruscant, and then I went to Nar Shaddaa where I got this, uhm, tattoo..." She pulled up the edges of her shirt and motioned to her side at a tattoo that was relatively decent in size. It was a flower native to Dathomir, shades of pink and purple and it encompassed a symbol that meant strength. She quickly brought the shirt down and adjusted herself before shrugging. "I, uhm, wasn't in the right frame of mind? I don't know. Mom and Dad do not know!" She waved both hands before her. "Like I thought everyone was gone and I figured I would be alone - I mean, I'm not proud of it."

She suddenly got defensive before Aton even said anything. "I mean there are cultures out there who get tattoos as infants!"

Blinking happened. A lot of it and all so very slowly. Was that a tattoo? Part of him wanted to scream at her, another part wanted to see their father scream at her and the other, well, the other wanted something completely else. A moment ago they had been reunited and in just a short second had that all been pushed for a sideshow on tattoos. The biggest question internally was what kind of response he’d provide. Would he tell, cover or exploit?

A grin slowly spread from cheek to cheek before quickly fading. As much as this was the absolute golden opportunity to use this against his sister he couldn’t bring himself to do so. Mainly because that meant she’d do it back in kind later, and most likely worse too. They had that whole sibling thing going after all.

“You have to show them.” Aton blinked again. “I would cover, but if you show them by choice and not accident there’s still that very small chance that dad won't murder you.”

Or worse. “We’ll keep it between you and me but you have to tell them eventually.”

[member="Mira Gyndar"]

Mira glared her brother and stepped a bit closer, her hands clenching into fists. "Or how about I beat you into a nice, little quiet place and then I'll tell them when I'm karking ready!" Her eyes went wide and a hand came to her mouth as she looked around - Good, no witnesses to her cursing. Her hand would fall down to her side as she took a step back from [member="Aton Gyndar"] and then turned away - but only for a moment. She'd quickly turn around and point at him, threateningly. "You tell them, I will tell Mom that you are the one who left Rowdy out in the jungle and get eaten by that creature!" She said with a smug look on her face, folding her arms over her chest - satisfied with her counter threat.

“Yes, because you clearly want to explain to mom and dad why I am covered in bruises as if it would make everything so much easier for you and your tattoo, Mira.”

He couldn’t help letting his eyebrow lift itself in a very questioning manner. Once again they were at the point where they’d prove that while Mira very much looked up to their father it was Aton who was the calm one out of the duo. Why was it that he only started one out of third of these arguments? Not like he was counting or nothing, but it was true.

“Just imagine their faces when I tell them that I told you to do the right thing and you hit me for it.” He grinned. “Unless of course you keep quiet about Rowdy. Then maybe they won’t find out. I mean, it would be a shame if they did, wouldn't it?”

It wasn’t blackmail. Just tough love.

But mostly blackmail.

[member="Mira Gyndar"]

Her brother had flipped the tables on her? How? He hadn't gotten that good had he? No way.

She wouldn't accept such things, not like that. She'd chuckle softly and lower her fist, tilting her head as she'd smile and get a little closer. Her hands would extend and come into wrap around her brothers arms, running up and down in a gentle manner, almost calming and reassuring. It was more distracting him from the moment. "If you keep quiet..." She let go and brought a hand to her chin, her ruby color eyes looking up in mock thought. "I can....talk to that girl at the Cantina for you?" She looked to her brother with a smile, extending her fingers in a polite pointing gesture. "I mean, I know you have been wanting to talk to her - well atleast I overheard you telling one of your little animal friends once..."

[member="Aton Gyndar"]

What was she talking about, Aton had never… Oh she was good. Lying to get her way was just so very typical of her. At least between the two of them, hopefully. well, he’d be a bad sport if he didn’t play along. He pushed her button, she pushed his. Wasn’t that how it worked?

A chuckle had him looking away for a bit. “I get it. You’re good at that whole not telling-the-truth part of things.”

“Using a lie, a believable one against the guy who seem to be a loner is guaranteed to work, ain’t it?” He nodded. “Fine, what is it that you want Mira? Except my complete and utter silence?”

With how things worked? Best to assume she would exploit him for all he had.

[member="Mira Gyndar"]

She waved a hand infront of her. "Oh come on now, I don't want anything but you to be my brother!" She laughed softly. Lies? Oh come on, that was a bit harsh - it actually made her chest hurt a bit with guilt, alot. God, she hated him sometimes. She took a deep breath and sighed heavily before turning away. "Fine...You win." She sniffed a little bit, trying to work up her tears and emotions. She knew he'd feel them - somehow she believed he would. She'd run away from him at that point - sobbing loudly - a bit fake but genuinely feeling a bit worried and perhaps dismayed that she would have to face the music for her actions.

She'd rush into the massive hanger of the Massassi Temple, rounding a corner before coming to a walk once she was out of sight of Aton - her arm would rise and wipe away the tears that were a bit forced. Another deep sigh would escape her lips followed shortly by a bit of a chuckle. Atleast he'd feel a bit of a guilt for being such a butthead and not keeping silent - no doubt now he'd run to Dad before she made it to [member="Falcon Gyndar"] to explain. That is just how it was, it usually was [member="Aaralyn Gyndar"] who found out first but with her running around doing her errands - it would be no shocker to see Falcon come down on her with an iron fist.

She'd have to stash some tools inside Whistler - no way Dad would look there. He'd take everything else though - Oh yeah, definitely hiding the saber too...

[member="Aton Gyndar"]

He… Won? Mira ran away in shame, probably expecting her brother to truly turn her in like that. A sigh parted his lips as he raised his arms in a most defeated manner. Why was it so hard for this girl to just this once do the easy thing or not make Aton feel bad about telling her to do so. He had no intentions of actually turning her in. After all, the bond between a sister and brother was considerably more valuable than any other.

“Hey, Mira wait up!” He ran after her, faked guilt-trip or not.

He found himself strolling around the hangar and bumping into all kinds of people and asking them if they had seen her. Sadly nobody had done that. He took a deep breath before slowly exhaling in a deep sigh.

“Right, well, if you see her can you tell her that I’m sorry?” Aton shrugged. “I said some things and I can’t really find her to say it myself.”

With a second more defeated sigh he set off for anywhere else. Yeah, she had played him good.

[member="Mira Gyndar"]

Mira felt a gut-wrenching punch to her stomach that caused her to groan loudly and turn back to the way she had come. She hung her head and moved slowly down the corridor and eventually into the massive hanger until she spotted the pouty brother who seemed to be aimlessly wandering around - maybe looking for her or maybe just looking for something to do. She'd clench her fists together and shake them out of irritation before she marched up to him and threw her hands up wildly in a gesture before him.

"Fine! No guilt! I will tell them you big baby!" She stomped her right foot infront of him harshly, shouting a bit over the top of the noise around them. "It's not like Dad is just going to appear behind me anyways! He's gone on some trip! So is mom! SO! FINE!" She yelled again, obviously fuming at this point. He had truly beaten her with a bigger guilt trip than she was able to deliver.
