A Mutual Legatee

Seraphina's latest business venture, G.E.A.R, had been off to a rather quick start. The rapidly growing product line was matched only by the number of contract requests that had been flowing in as of late. While all fantastic news for the company, it had been late nights and early mornings for the Twi'lek in charge. With two locations, constant travel between the two was also something of a nightmare, especially now, given that the Republic had lost its' foothold in much of the galaxy, an area that had been mostly safe for her Umbaran operations. Perhaps the Sith cared little for their southern border, and even less for an unknown company like hers, but one always had to be prepared for the worst.

A company that had caught her eye however, was much larger and more well known than her own. Sasori manufactured, either directly or through a subsidiary, a number of extremely useful products that could prove useful in the future for G.E.A.R. Products that they were ill-equipped to manufacture on their own were causing delays in their own R&D branch. This was precisely why she decided to fire off a message to Sasori, in hopes of garnishing a mutually beneficial contract between the two companies.

Dear sir or madam,

Galactic Equipment And Robotics (G.E.A.R) is interested in orchestrating a meeting between Sasori and G.E.A.R executives to discuss the potential for a mutual contract between both parties. If desirable, please reach out to us and we will arrange a meeting at a convenient location.

Thank you kindly,
Seraphina Shel'tah
CEO; G.E.A.R

Matsu was there in the factory on Morellia, they had been working on the warehouse more and more while the converters were brought into the factory and set up as the upgrades they were working on to make the converters more effective and able to work with things. The production lines were working as the new improvements for Chai La had mandalroain beskarsmiths working on things. Her head turned up while she heard there was a message and raising an eyebrow as the jedi master looked delicately at the datapad going over it and trying to see the name as she read the message. The woman's name didn't sound that familiar but she managed to get an image.

"Ah you." She remembered a pink skinned twi'lek from her waning days within the Republic while she was sitting there. Her fingers gliding over the datapad as she readied a message with a few thoughts going into it. "Thank you for your interest, if you are able to there is a new factory we have been working on at Morellia. Our latest products are there and we'll be able to show them and if you are interested the people here are always looking for new commerce you can set up a store here on the edge of the disc." She sent it and well there was a great deal to it all while she was going over more for it and the enforcers patrolled around.

The reply came quicker than anticipated, and as the woman read through the message sent she smiled. Perfect! She quickly rattled off a response to Sasori.

Excellent! I would be happy to make a trip to Morellia immediately and will bring a number of product samples with me for you to view.

-Sera

Once the message was sent, the Twi'lek began gathering some belongings to take with her for the trip, as well as a small collection of product samples, as promised, to bring along. Her ship, a LUX-YT68 would bring her to Morellia. It would take some time to reach the planet as it resided out in wild space, so the folks at Sasori would have ample time to prepare for her arrival. Having an opportunity to garner a relationship with a corporation much larger than her own was exciting, and she was eager to see what could be worked out between the two. Once her ship had exited hyperspace she would transmit her ID and information to the docking crew before landing.

Matsu gave a nod as she sat there and saw she was coming, there would be time for her to work as she rose up and clasped her hands walking across one of the walkways and looking down at the workers who were assembling some of the products. The sounds of the converters while one was working and one was being upgraded and tested. They were doing good work and she wasn't going to have a messy staging area and meeting place while the rest of the building was being cleaned up and converted into a storefront. She was looking at the enforcers pistols that were one of the larger draws that made this world great. ABove some other things though she enjoyed the sight of the landing pad outside the warehouse and area. They had been moving over through the planet to make deals and secure aid with the disposal and weapons operations.

As the ship landed Seraphina gathered what items she had brought, and ensured that she had prepared her datapad for the items that were too large or dangerous to take with her, namely the electromagnetic droids, even if they were inactive, the risk of damaging sensitive equipment within such a large radius was a bit too concerning for her to bring along. Instead, the information and holoprojection would be brought to display. As she exited the ramp of her LUX-YT68 and was escorted inside the building, she took a look around at the magnificent, large facility that was bustling with activity. It was surely impressive, and certainly much larger than her operations on both Phindar and Umbara. It showed a promising future for Sasori, having this much going on at once.

Matsu perked her head up when she felt the woman and moved to meet her. Standing in the light brown robes she had gotten from ulic with the armband and shield on. She had a few of the things working as they went ahead with a small gin on her face in welcoming the jedi master as she spread her arms out more in display. "Welcome to Morellia master Shel'tah." It wasn't much of an opening but she knew the twi'lek from maybe just being a padawan before she had been exiled so there was no familiarity to them aside from being jedi. "I hope the trip wasn't to bad coming to join us here on the edge of the galaxy."

Sera bowed her head to Matsu as she was greeted. "Thank you for the warm welcome, Master Ike." Lifting her head back she smiled. "It was no trouble. My ship has plenty of accommodations to busy myself with to pass the time." She gestured to the surroundings. "A lovely place you have here. Very bustling. Very Busy. A good thing to see." While the Twi'lek hadn't really ever had any formal discussion with the other Jedi of the SSC, she had both seen and heard of her before, so there wasn't an aura of total strangeness, but perhaps there would be time to get to know one another better in the future. However today was all about business.

Matsu looked around as she spoke with a half smile and look in her eye for adventure and mischief. She might not be a teenager but it was always exciting to talk about some of the far off and beautiful places. "You should see the floating temple of Cazador or its city of chains." She motioned though clasping hands behind her back while looking at the building and going towards the doors with them opening silently and leading inside where researchers and smiths were working on equipment and weapons. "We started working on a few things for the jedi long ago, some armor here and there but nothing to big and then suddenly we found an influx from artifact hunting and reverse engineering ancient technology into something far far greater. So tell me about yourself master jedi? I like to know who I am doing business with."

Sera followed alongside Matsu as she listened to the other Jedi speak, giving insight into the company's history and it's vibrant background. "That's quite impressive all on its' own I must admit. I'm certain such information would be quite invaluable to anyone, especially a company like this." Her eyes ventured around a few times before looking back to Matsu. "Me? Well, without putting you to sleep, I mostly grew up among the Jedi. I was brought to Ossus when I was 7. I was a student of Master Truden. I served the Republic up until a couple of years ago. Things there have started down a path I chose not to follow. The Order itself was beginning to bleed membership, and was following the Republic down that same road. The Sith were stomping all over them at every altercation and I decided that dying in battle for a government that can't help itself was not worth my life. So I left."

The woman shrugged, it wasn't exactly how she thought things would turn out. "So I went into isolation for a while, to understand where I stood on things. In the end, I decided that doing things on my own was for the greater good, and that starting a company that could in turn help others in a meaningful way was worth my time as well."

Matsu listened to her and the story was true and sad... Though Seraphina had left on her own and not been cast out... Which was to her benefit in the end. Matsu spoke leading into the office that was lined with pieces of equipment they had made here. She stood for a moment though in her office and motioned with one hand to close the blinds heading around the desk. "I told Kiskla to kark herself, not my best but I was upset and then I was calm and found something with a new purpose. Searching the galaxy and finding lost jedi artifacts that had been stolen or were missing and the order refused to try and find them for the order even if they didn't want the help. I discovered a path learning from different sects around the galaxy and then how to use them to make special equipment for jedi to use." She took a seat and was slightly raised up.... but she was a petite jedi who barely weighed more then some of her padawans and was the smaller one... she needed phonebooks to sit on so she didn't so small in the chairs. "Now we shall have some fun and get to business. Would you like some tea?" She was motioning to the wall and the console that was one of the converters for making equipment they had.

Sera's eyes widened a bit at the mention of telling off the former grandmaster of the order. She then laughed rather loudly at the thought. "That must have been something to see, that's quite the exit you made from the Order. But what you've done since leaving is a respectable, and honorable thing. Retrieving lost relics for the Jedi, regardless of the Order to which you, or they belong to is a worthwhile cause. If nothing else than to ensure that they don't fall into Sith hands."

She took a seat as offered by Matsu. Seraphina herself couldn't be considered tall, though she still had a few inches on her fellow Jedi. It was certainly a rarity for her to be taller than anyone, something she rarely considered given that she was so used to looking up at others. "Absolutely, I would love tea while we chat!"

Matsu looked at her and raised her eyebrow for a moment but with a nod before moving to the wall console and speaking. "Two teas, hot." The computer chimed and the image of the cup and materials came as it was working and with whirred. Going quicker then boiling water but constructed it in almost a suspended state for a minute. Then Matsu was holding two cups by the handles and turnign around with steam coming off of them. "We spent several months recovering and studying the technology behind it. Ancient synthesis and conversion from before the republic.. but we got it made. It also can recycle the air on a ship almost indefinitely. We've been working with researchers and information on other ancient devices to improve it."

To say she was impressed would be a sizable understatement. "That's remarkable!" She studied the console from where she was, it was certainly fine engineering. "You've quite the collection of artifacts and tech. Are most things that Sasori manufactures and produces sold to specific parties of interest?" Sera was curious to know if the majority of the products sold were strictly to other Jedi, or sold openly to anyone with enough credits. "I ask because there are projects I am planning for in the future that I'd like to incorporate certain products from other companies into, but G.E.A.R is a relatively open market company, therefore I'd like to keep whatever we come to terms with as open as possible."

"We don't sell to darksiders knowingly and try to work with generally altruistic groups but that can change with the simple shifting of leadership. Most of our things though the really special items made using artifacts or things we have researched from them are private. ONly groups like the jedi have access to them and know about them. Though keeping track of some of them is hard as I am sure you have seen jedi jump ship and change sides but still use their access or worse things. So I hold no illusion this equipment could end up in the hands of bad people but.. most don't know all the things. Corvus has been a friend and helped with finding exothic tech and things."

"Understandable. Once it is off the production line and into the buyer's hands, there's little one can do to police where items end up. The only reason I ask is because I would like to keep the market for GEAR as open as possible. I think the best course of action, as demanded by my Jedi side, would be to try and coordinate a deal between Sasori and GEAR that can accomodate the majority, rather than risk important information and artificats slipping into the wrong hands."

Sera smiled, enjoying the tea that was provided, while taking the moment to pause in the discussion and savor the drink. "A few of the things I noticed immediately were the sets of armor that look to have substantial potential for us to incorporate our own products into. As we are not a manufacturer of armor explicitly, we could purchase the base armor products from Sasori, and incorporate our own product designs with them to in turn resell."

Placing the cup down on to the table she sat up a bit before continuing. "The other item that came to mind was the processing implant. While we don't have a direct use for this in the immediate future, it was something that certainly paired well with our own bacta self-injector device, and could likely be incorporated into future products rather well."

Matsu had to look at her and the armor and implant were more then enough. She had some nice ideas that could go well with it as she rubbed her hands together in excitement. Getting to work with it and help make new things was always something excitable and she felt like a kid in a candy store on life day.. all that delicious ideas. "That can be done, the armors we have been looking to upgrade a few of them. I see no real problem with some of the armr and we have some production factories and lines. Our smiths have become of the best with their skills from the mandalorians and Jensaari." A smile on her face though with a sip of tea. "The onl real thing that would be nice is if new products are made to have a couple set aside to buy for us."

Sera nodded at the request. "Absolutely. I see no reason why we couldn't provide a number of finished products to Sasori." She took another sip and continued. "We'll likely need to order bulk amounts of each item in order to maintain proper stock for manufacturing as well as testing various prototype models, nothing is ever perfect on the first hundred or so tries." The Twi'lek pulled her datapad from her bag and jotted down some notes as to a rough estimate of the total number of armor sets they would need to get started, as well as the projected number overall. Sera wasn't worried about the ability for Sasori to produce what she needed, afterall, they were a far larger company than GEAR was, or would be in the forseeable future. It was moreso for her own financial calculations.

Matsu was excited with that and sipped at her tea while she thought about it and well if all went according to plan they were going to have plenty to produce along with some of the things. Phenex was going to be something larger she was able to work with and given all the things she had bought company wise... they had things going. "Perfect, I am rather looking forward to this. Other groups that work with jedi I have met usually only want their benefit but it is fun and please there is for yourself and travels. We have special private stocks. The advanced force weapon and imbuing techniques we have researched have given us some very nice things. The gloves for tutaminis we created allow the creation of force batteries and we managed to develop an environmental shield in a bracelet for jedi."

"I can see you keep yourselves incredibly busy with such innovations and gathering of technology, as well as artifacts. It's no wonder so many flock to you for what you have, though understandable that you'd like to keep such information and equipment under tight control, given the state of the galaxy at present. The wrong hands could cause significant damage on a widespread scale." She smiled as she set down the tea cup. "I'm sure that in the future, if GEAR grows both financially and physically, that we could perhaps arrange for additional equipment purchases or exchanges, though right now I have to make sure the company stays in the black, I've never been one for paying debt with more debt." Truth be told Sasori had a massive product list, many of which she could likely use to build on top of her own ideas and products, but the funding just couldn't be justified at the time, not when GEAR was still relatively new. She needed to maintain a focus on the products she was already seeking to make before expanding.

Matsu looked at her and gave a nod to that. "The artifacts we have found are under very tight lock and we try to work on them and it has allowed us something. Mostly we don't charge more then customers can afford. Credits are not that helpful to us and just sit in an account for use. We also played it smart with several aurodium mines around the galaxy that function to fund us." She offered a grin though while looking at the twi'lek and drinking more of the tea. "Though production capabilities are great when you can turn most energy and everything else into materials to build your products. That is what we went for with these converters and it has saved us a lot. Please try one to help yourself, it can make the parts you need from raw materials and is more precise then a factory saving space so you can do it on ships."
