A Hand to fit the Tune (Daren Nightingale)

As what seemed to be the norm on Effekt the people of the far away planet in the Unknown Region of space was having another celebration. Unlike the ones usually held by the planet's Empress Nimue Stormson, this was more of a holiday than anything else. What was known as the King's Day was a traditional celebration among the people of Effekt to honor the start of the Stormborn Empire and the reign of it's first Emperor Augustus, and all the leaders to follow in his stead. All throughout the streets of every major city everyone had given token thanks and prayers in the morning before celebrating throughout the rest of the day. Princes were void for all meals and drinks and everyone from the great to the small was to pay homage to one or more of their follow citizens for helping them or being good to them in the past year. Bands played and everyone was happy, even in the royal palace where the servants had enjoyed what was basically a day off for them. The guards kept post but were fluctuated quickly through rounds to allow for others to take post while enjoying the festivity. And where was the Empress herself in all this? Enjoying the holiday in her own 'special' way of course. ​

Daren Nightingale had come to this festival to sing and play, hopefully earning enough credits for her next meal and lodging space. The young Bimm female sat near a corner of the festivities, wearing her festival garments and readying her harp and voice. Once she was warmed up, Daren began to play the song she had prepared for this occasion, her voice starting softly and growing in volume. Soon she had a small crowd surrounding her.

The many people coming to hear here were as enthusiastic about music as the next. But they'd been used to hearing their own people create such wonderful music, hearing it from an outside was a greater surprise. It was such a beautiful melody and had a tune that practically invoked the songs of Effekt's people. Among them was a guard from the royal palace, who was off-duty, who took a greater interest than most. The empress had always enjoyed beauty, in all manners of the world, and hearing this girl, [member="Daren Nightingale"] , could be an interesting find for her. He waited until she was done before approaching her, offering her some advice as to where to head next. He eventually pointed to the royal palace that loomed over the city. ​

Daren was surprised when a palace guard came up to her after her little performance and asked her if she was would be willing to play for Her Majesty, [member="Nimue Stormson"] at her palace later that day. Not wanting to miss an opportunity to sing for royalty, she quickly agreed, and then, being directed towards the palace, thanked the guard for asking her. She did, however, sing a few more songs for the people before packing up and making her way towards the palace.
