A Guiding Light (Lilin)

Aefao was a small world in the outer rim that was home to the Aefan's, a species of small, orange-skinned humanoids. In ages past it had always found itself joining the darker side of the galactic government movements. The Confederacy, the Empire, Thrawn, and others had held its allegiance. Despite this, it had still remained a small, backwater world in the galaxy that few had ever even heard of. Silas hadn't, and he'd spent numerous years thriving on a backwater world. Which literally meant he'd made a living fixing things and had been regarded with some small amount of esteem among the local populace, which had kept him breathing for quite a while.

Incidentally, the world wasn't under anyone's thumb at the moment, so he didn't have to worry about some galactic power taking offense to him showing up. As his fighter lanced out of hyperspace and descended towards the planet, he made sure to call for the proper clearances, and settled his ship down in the main spaceport. As he climbed out, he was quickly greated by a security force of the natives.

"What is your business on Aefao?" the front runner asked. This one was clearly a rank above the others, judging by the garb he wore being less functional and more formal.

"Purely pleasure, I assure you," he answered them, offering a bow. "I was in the neighborhood and wished to visit."

"You carry the weapon of the Jedi. We don't want trouble here."

"There will be no trouble. You have my word."

He offered a deep, humble bow to them and then straightened again. It wasn't a lie. He was there for non-business reasons in the sense that he wasn't working for anyone outside of the Force. Something was drawing him to Aefao. Somewhere there was a vast beacon of lightside energy that was pulling him towards it. He'd been unable to resist, almost as if he were on Ruusan. Now he was close to it, and he certainly wanted to discover what it was.

"Very well, and lest you stray, we have methods for dealing with your kind."

Silas laughed a little.

"I don't doubt that you do, and I will keep that in mind."

He bowed again, and waited for the security team to depart before he chuckled to himself. No doubt they did have methods for dealing with Force users, but he really wasn't going to cause them to use those methods. Amazing how we get such a bad name. Master Kamon was right, the galaxy really doesn't like the Force.

Lilin had come to the planet of Aefao about a quarter of an hour ago, mainly to explore new worlds. But what she did not expect to find on the planet was that rather Force-intolerant view. People who allowed her to land in the spaceport clearly did not wish to give her the rights to do what, but she assured them she was there to visit the planet and learn more about its culture.

After all, it wasn't mainly the truth. But not completely, like everybody who knew Lilin would understand.

She walked through the city in which the spaceport was and tried to make her way through the people of the planet. She wanted to get out of the city or at least find a place which wasn't so packed up. Maybe a café in the outskirts of the city, maybe a park which was not so full of different people?

After numerous minutes of walking, she found one -- a coffee shop that was not all so busy with people but was more like an abandoned place. But it had some strange countryside feel to it and she loved it.

"Hello, could I get a coffee, please? With a lot of milk and two teaspoons of sugar, please," she spoke after she'd made it to the café and then to the shop assistant.

Leaving the hangar behind proved to make him even more of a sore thumb for eyes to behold. He wasn't overly tall, he'd certainly seen taller, but the people of this world were vastly short by comparison. That and the fact that his skin tone wasn't remotely near theirs didn't really help him in any way, shape or form. Suffice to say, people took notice of his appearance among them, even though he was certain that he wasn't the only outsider they'd seen recently. He could see several in the immediate vicinity.

As such, he was a bit surprised when he spot a young woman walking within the crowd and making her way, seemingly, to somewhere important. Not exactly abnormal, but what made it curious was that he could feel her strength in the Force. Immediately he cut off his signature and hid himself in that regard. He was just another traveler on the world. To be more convincing he wrapped his saber in the White Current so it wouldn't pick him out.

For a while he thought that following her wasn't necessary. She wasn't a darksider as far as he could tell. There wasn't any immediate taint upon her that smelled of that sickly sweetness that he associated with the darkside of the Force. On top of that, she wasn't heading in the general direction of the strong lightside presence that he'd felt upon his arrival, which was even more curious to him. Who are you and what's brought you all the way out here? he thought to himself. Deciding that the lightside presence could wait, he followed her through the streets to a small coffee shop.

"Curious," he said to no one in particular.

"What's that?"

He glanced down at one of the locals, whom he'd apparently stopped in front of in his haste to follow the woman. The little man must have thought he was talking to him.

"Oh, nothing. Pardon me."

He stepped aside to allow the man to continue on and then looked back across the way. The woman was ordering coffee now. He glanced around and then darted across to smoothly walk into the little shop, moving up behind the woman to be next in line. Time to poke and prod without being obvious.

"Any idea what's good here?" he asked her.
