A Gathering at Pyrrosia Palace

Pyrrosia Palace

The Empress stood silently, eyes gazing out upon the darkened sky as the stars began to glimmer and twinkle above. Then the low humming noise of a vehicle pulled her attention away from the sky and back towards the terrestrial world beneath her very feet. The guests were beginning to arrive and soon she would be mingling among them, and the affairs of state would take over. Though these things were needed due in part to her worlds location at the far edge of the galaxy, when all eyes seemed to turn Coreward and the Outer Rim Territories, specifically Wild Space were merely looked upon as the resource baskets for those more wealthy.
Of course with such thoughts, it was the Techno Union that came to mind first, the corporate juggernaut that was tearing its way across the Outer Systems. What could the weakened Mellaniphian Federation do in the face of such might and destructive force. The first and foremost thought upon her mind was the survival of the world, the planet that had already been scared by an almost endless war that it still recovered from.
For now though those thoughts would be pushed aside, and quickly replaced with the thoughts of meeting her guests. The Empress had been draped in the more regal of the gowns that marked her station, though she had been adamant about wearing the more ceremonial armor that she was accustomed to from her days as a Huntress. Being ceremonial, it was therefore forged to be a bit more form fitting and flattering than the armor she normally wore, though she felt no reason to complain about such a trivial fact.
Slipping from the balcony, she stepped back into the palace, watching as the guest were quickly ushered inside into the main hall. The towering ceilings brilliantly illuminated by various dimly glowing orbs that hung along the perimeter as well as large chandeliers that hung from the central beam of the room. The Palace itself was one of only a few structures of its kind, built of stone and marble rather than completely natural like many others.
A soft smile graced her lips as she slowly moved around the perimeter, watching her guests. Then the crier began, and she made a note of those names and their titles as they were called out, one by one upon their arrival.

Akio Diachi

For it was All but a Dream
Akio meekly walked into the grand room. His eyes flitted across it, taking in the art of it and the occupants. He gauged them from behind his passive red eyes--there were no threats present and he was grateful. For once, perhaps he could get a break. And also thankfully for him, the nightmares had started to abait some.

The chiss' traditional black robes of his order flowed to the floor, hiding his small, scarred frame. On his back was blazoned the crest of his clan in white over his traditional katana that was strapped to his belt behind him. He was grateful the Umbarians had taught him the courtly manners. One of the few good things he had learned from them.

In a rare moment of serenity he crossed the stone floor. It felt pleasant under his bare feet. Coming the feet of the Empress he bowed slightly at the waist.

"It is an honor to meet you, ma'am. A leader of such a race deserves respect and honor," he said in his soft but firm voice.
