A game of hide and seek (Strask)

Katar jumped from rooftop to rooftop, following her suspect. The Inquisition had sent her Tattooine to follow a woman who was supposedly a Jedi-in-hiding. She used the Force to mask her presence so the woman couldn't sense her as she stalked her across Mos Eisley. Katar stopped as the woman walked into the cantina. Jumping down onto the street, Katar adjusted her poncho and cowl. She looked like a farm girl who was wearing the cowl to protect herself from the sand. She walked into the cantina and sat down in one of the booths a few seats down from her suspect.

The woman, a Taresa Helthane, had contacted a figure who was refered to in the area as Mos Espa's Shadow Man. She had assumed that someone was coming for her, and had heard of his skills in dealing with Force users. He had agreed to help, but for a price. Afterwards, she would return home. Her name was something of a memory to the Bothan. Helthane. The ambassador.

Ah, well. He watched the target carefully. As [member="Katar"] walked in, his eyes would shift to her. But from his corner booth, he would be unnoticed. Unseen, unheard, unknown. The Shadow's form rested easily, waiting for the need to act.

Katar relaxed into the booth. She looked all around the cantina, studying everyone. They were each so different. Occasionally, she glanced at her suspect. The woman appeared to be talking to someone on her comlink. Katar tried her best to focus on the voices as she looked over at the bar, pretending to be considering what to get. "I know that....... You and I both realize it's not safe anymore....... Ever since that incident on Coruscant........ targeted. I can't shake the feeling that.......... No, no, I......."
Katar waved over a waitress and pointed to the latest drink added to the menu to keep up the ruse. So her suspect had been targeted for assassination? She must be very important to be wanted dead. If only the Inquisition could tell Katar more about who she followed! She hated not knowing anything about the suspects other than the fact that they were suspected of being Force-sensitive. The waitress returned with her drink, and she laid a few credit chips on her tray. She sipped the drink a little. Ugh. It was very tart, and bitter. Katar continued to listen, realizing that being underage for alcohol hadn't really been such a bad thing.

Strask sighed. Nothing so far. The girl, [member="Katar"], was definitely breaking CIS law, but this was Tatooine. Everyone did. Still, he knew a move would be made soon. He rested a needler and his KYD on his lap. He would need them if this turned sour.

The woman sat a little while longer at her table. As Katar continued watching and listening, she felt as if she were being watched. She noticed a figure in the far corner of the room. He appeared oblivious to her. Yet somehow, Katar could tell that he wasn't. While she contemplated this, the woman she followed left her table. She exited the cantina in a bit of a hurry. Katar didn't follow her. After all, if she was being followed, following her suspect would only make her even more conspicuous. Besides, she could track the woman down later if need be.
