A First For Everything (Vilaz Munin)

Bhaltair Dhimani

A little Ruff can go a long way
Bhaltair sat behind his desk in his office. It was a busy day for Crescentia Industries on Phindar. An industrial accident had left a few unfortunate workers limbless. The courts had settled in their favor and, now, they were getting fixed up with new limbs this week. This was one of the many business opportunities that a company like Crescentia was able to partake in. This bountiful position made the work load large. It only made sense that they would use this source of money and answer the call of expansion.

However, to do so, he needed to start making contracts. He needed to build alliances and connections. Being a Mando, himself, it only made sense to call out to his fellow Mandalorians for first dibs. As such, he had set up a meeting with [member="Vilaz Munin"]. Hopefully, they could come to some beneficial arrangement.

There was bountiful of Mandalorian owned companies that benefited the whole community of the Mandalorians: Armatech, Mandal Hypernautics, Mandal Motors, Mandal Tech, Mythosaur Munitions, and many more which were one of the major corporations that stabilized the economy of the Mandalorians. While the Mandalorians could econcomically support themselves by doing mercenary contracts and bounty hunting there was always a need for them to have a nationalized company that could also help fund the welfare of Mandalore and her colonies. And today another Mandalorian CEO was intending on bringing in more revenue that would contribute to the ranks of the Mandalorians.

He was dressed in his casual attire: his armor. He didn't like wearing suits or tuxes when going on to formal meetings, but he was thinking about attending this meeting in some clothes that he sometimes wore when at Concord Dawn which seemed fine when farming and such. He was escorted by some employees of Bhaltair and brought him to his office with the Crescentia CEO behind his desk. The Field Marshal would say, "Howdy, Bhatltair," and greeted him in the traditional Mandalorian way. "Let's get the papers out and put this on the road. As long as the terms doesn't hurt as at all I'm sure I'll make this meeting finishes in five minutes."

After clearing his throat, he said,

"That sounds very hospitable, so I'll get right to the point...You see, sir, it's like this: I'm looking to expand the business by opening up in another location. I've got my sights set on planet Mandalore. However, I'll need help getting in on the scene, since many businesses have already set up shop. If you and others can help me find space, give me some tax breaks on building and development and whatever else you can muster, I'd be able to set up shop and sell to many soldiers. Now, here's where I can, in turn benefit you: I can give preferential treatment and discounts to all critically injured Mandalorians who come in to our clinic on Mandalore and also "specially sanctioned" members of the clan, or clans, that help support my move onto Mandalore. Does that sound good to you?"

Corporation talks were something that Vilaz despised of. He was very bored and seemed like a leech was sucking up all of his energy. How could one like Draco, both a CEO and a Warrior, could manage something like this? Statistics, bar graphs, pie charts, and such were not what Vilaz liked. But he would help a fellow Mandalorian when they asked for it. "Alright, Bhaltair, listen up. In the Resol'nare we all have to contribute to the Mandalorians, and that's something that you're doing. So I'm gonna invest in your company and make sure you've got an opening on Mandalore, and don't worry about paying taxes and such. Once you've made some profit, then you're gonna have to pay to support our welfare, and I like that discount of yours. So how much you need? And it better be an amount that you can pay off 'cause I sure hate spending money on things that won't work."

Bhaltair propped his right foot over his left leg and nervously tapped his lips with his pen. The militant kind of person was always either the easiest or hardest to appease. Either they were overjoyed by the prospect of a rich investment or bored to death by business talk. In a combat-centric society such as this, it was safe to assume that the latter was a typical reaction for the Mandos.

"Since I'm not an established company with long standing, it'll cost more for me to try and become established on Mandalore. I have made arrangements with someone who plans on pulling out into retirement, but it's not easy. In total, I'll need about an extra 200,000 credits to get in for good. I know that sounds like a lot, but I'm good for it. I was able to make half of that number through special orders alone in my first week. The only reason I need it now is because I have my hands tied financially with too many things on my plate."

His ears were surprised that a recent Mandalorian company crafted by the hands of Bhaltair was, somewhat, being prosperous. However, one couldn't go at such father lengths with something keeping them from going on, and in Bhaltair's case it was money and financial issues. "So you want 100,000 credits, huh? Say no more, just send me your bank account number and you'll get that lump sum." Oh, yes, Vilaz was filthy rich even though he didn't show it. After years of bounty hunting and mercenary work, training a whole clone army for the Republic, and just recently killing and sealing everything from a Hutt Crime Lord he was very wealthy and rich.

As Bhaltair provided the necessary information, business talk simmered down into small talk about recent clan matters. 100,000 credits for a Mandalorian discount? What a steal, right? Yes, it was, but only because Bhaltair planned it so. This way, Bhaltair could still provide great service to his faction and still have proof that he's not heavily pandering to them, so as to remain largely open and provide business opportunities across the galaxy.

No sooner had Bhaltair become 100,000 credits richer than he had used his datapad to allocate the money to its proper expenditure destination. As the meeting wrapped up, Bhaltair walked out of the building feeling smugly satisfied with his work. He was so glad that he hadn't let his brother's expansive shadow cast a gloom on his future; that he had found the bravery to take the steps towards owning and building such an intricate and advanced business.
