A Family Affair

The Point

The resort planet was as inviting as the name implied, and twice as breathtaking. Large bodies of water covered the planet's surface while islands of all shapes and sizes were scattered across, creating a jigsaw of a landscape. High-class resorts and spas were the default on a planet where the air was fresh and the water was crystal clear. The sunsets and sunrises alone were enough to make people want to relax and stay fixated on the natural beauty forever. That was only part of the allure though, the real bank here was the tourist attractions, like the Plunge, where a three level casino was the main attraction in a city built on luxury, relaxation and the almighty credit. The Tourist Guild had done wonders here, and they continued to bring in profit every Standard year as people from all across the Galaxy congregated for a brief respite of pleasure and fun. There were those however that were not as interested in living the 'high life' as well as some that were not fortunate to have the credits to spend.

Sion fell into one of those camps, but his personal ideals about money, fame, and prestige were set aside for a nobler pursuit. For the will of the Force, he would travel to any destination it led him to. This one happened to be a little different than his earlier travels. It had not started where he currently sat ; on the bluff of The Point. This had started in a diner a ways away in which he met someone only briefly that had caught his eye and his ear. The Echani knew he wasn't going to have the type of conversation he wanted to have in such a crowded and ultimately violent atmosphere. He had broken company for that exact reason and had taken a journey to a far more interesting climate. The feel of a tiled floor and plush seats were somewhat foreign to the wandering warrior, and he preferred a more natural setting.

The Point was the southernmost cape on the largest island of Spira. The two ocean currents of the planet met here with violent and intriguing patterns in the frothy water. The current surged in two opposing directions, and met with crash after crash of the waves far below the bluff. Seated on the cliff's edge facing the water below, a calm and pleasant wind soothingly caressed his snow white locks. Seated in the lotus position with his sword sheathed and resting in the grass before him, both hands resting palm down on his kneecaps while the Echani's silver hued gaze watched over the water as it swayed and ebbed and battled itself in a continual struggle. The islands were not very vast on this planet, and were mostly a string of smaller ones in a row, the curved around the current itself. It was said that sailors that could brave The Point's harsh conditions were worthy seamen and would do fare well in any nautical adventure. The Eshan native had not done much boating himself, as he preferred the open expanse of space to fly in, however he did on occasion enjoy a good swim.

For now though he waited, and watched the water. The Force had guided him here to connect with someone, to learn another lesson of it's infinite wisdom, and to pass along any knowledge of his own that it saw fit to deliver. He was a conduit of the Force, a branch of it's life-giving tree, offering the fruit of it's power to those seeking it. A vessel to be of use to that great cosmic Force that had given him so much. He was confident and at peace, that at the right time, the moment of opportunity would open, and he would step through that door to minister as the will of the Force saw fit.

Keziah used to be very close to her brothers when she was little. They had done their best to keep her safe from the wrath of their father. She had looked up to them and she thought they would always be together. When they left her alone the young girl at the time was devastated. Her own family had abandoned her and didn't even think twice of it. What she didn't understand was why they didn't take her with them. She was the baby of the family and they were supposed to take care of her, right?

The woman had learned how to survive in the underground all by herself. She learned how to rely on herself and not others as she had figured if her brothers had betrayed her than who could she trust? It was better to be on her own and just use others for her own devices. There was always hope that she would hear from her brothers again but no such luck.

She did eventually meet someone whom stole her heart. Keziah and him connect on every level and around him she was able to relax and be herself. She for once in her life dreamed a future with him where they could be partners in crime. Just as everything had started going right and she was happy they fell apart. She hadn't seen her beloved for months but now she knew he was searching for him. She had faith that they would be together again. Later she would talk to her friends right now however she wished to learn about what happened to her brothers.

"Thank you," she sighed arriving at the point as she looked out to the water. She was grateful that he was willing to wait till she had a minute to talk. She very much wanted to know how they were fairing in this life. Even after everything she didn't wish them ill will. "You know my brother? How is he? Who are you?" A million questions rushed though her head as she sat down next to him. "It's beautiful out here isn't it?"

The great currents of the ocean in constant rivalry crashed onto the rocks below, eliciting a cool and pleasant mist that wafted through the wind's design and on occasion came in mist form to coat the grass at the Echani's feet. His eyes closed as the spray of water touched his face - enjoying the majesty of nature and the relationship between the strength of battle and the serene peace that it could also afford. For the Echani combat was expression, it was purposed and it was beautiful. Few other species had such an outlook on the art of it, and that simply made it all the more special to the wandering Force Warrior finding himself on this island tourist resort. Aside from the times that he interacted with species from across the cosmos, Sion lived a very solitary life, often meditating or practicing his craft with the desire and purpose to gain insight into the will of the Force. His time alone was not a burden, but a gift, and he was always looking for opportunity to give thanks for these peaceful serene moments in his long life.

With silver eyes shut, the soft ping of recognition alighted on his form, tuning him into the nature around him. The woman's presence was unmistakable in such a natural setting. Her aura hung on her as if it were a weight on her shoulders. There was a mix of emotions there, some pleasent, and some regretful. Keziah had troubles that caused her heart to be heavy. His position in this, he precieved was to be a balm to that wound, and allow some joy to return to those soft white cheeks kissed with a faint rouge. As she approached, his silver eyes opened and a calm and pleasant smile touched his face enjoying the ambiance that her first words commented on as the woman approached from behind.

"You are most welcome. I could feel the tension in the air in the diner, and it was not the time for such a conversation to be held." His left hand raising to gesture towards the ocean before them and the majesty of the waves crashing on the rocky shore below the bluff. "This seems far more appropriate a scene." The Echani said before shifting his posture slightly in order to address the woman who lighted next to his position. "My name is Val`Sion, though must are more casual simply referring to me as Sion." The pale skinned man explained as his brilliant white smile rested on his visage through the introduction. Inwardly rather excited to sit and have time to discourse with one of his friend's kin. She was already a sister to him in his mind, as Josiah was like a brother in bond. An extended family was something he greatly cherished, as his own were long since passed, becoming one with the Force itself.

"I met your brother Josiah on the desert planet of Tatooine some time ago. In my journeys I have scarcely met a more respectable and honest man. I can see him in you, familiar features and a spirit that is strong and brave. We memorialized his late wife that day as he had come to pay his respects." Sion never forgot that day - and he had only spared the details of having to deal with a band of Tuskan Raiders that were grave robbing nearby from the story. The name of Denko was etched in his memory that day, and he was glad to meet another of his family to share that knowledge and experience with. "I gather that you have not seen him for quite sometime?" He asked in with an assumption judging by her phrasing and interest to know how her older brother fared.

The waves crashing upon the shore was a peaceful sight indeed. She needed more peace in her life and hoped by being here she could obtain a little peace. She had been so hurt lately in regards to Calico being gone but now that she knew the truth she was processing that. There was also this man whom seemed to know her brother whom had abandoned her when she needed him the most. This day seemed to get more and more involved and complicated as it continued.

"I have not seen my brother for a very long time. He left me a long time ago after our father died. I have not heard from him since. I'm sorry about his wife though. I never knew he was married. In truth, I don't know much about my brother. I wish I understood why he left and never contacted me."

There was a part of her that hoped to one day meet him again and reunite or at least talk so that everything could be figured out. There were so many questions that she had surrounding him. She hated having to ask a stranger. If he was such a respectable man why had he left her. He could have come look for her but he never did.

She instead had been forced to make her own way by living underground and being a part of a gang. It was a part of her that she wished to put behind her. Keziah was ashamed of the things she had to do for money. She ought to not trick people into giving her money however she had gotten to be very good at that. She knew how to get credits and fast.

"Do you know why he never came to look for his family."
