A Dusty Place with a Lot to Offer

Jed Kerkov

Family? Who needs family when you got credits!
Jed Kerkov had waited in the conference room for 25 minutes now. He had come all the way from his company's HQ on Antar IV to settle the deal with Haven Shipyards to purchase himself a small fleet of cargo ships, to serve as his Bank's mode of important material transportation. Currently he had one feeble gladiator class freighter, but hopefully by the end of this meeting that would be no more.

The door would open, and Saffron would come in. She wore a pleasant smile and began with an apology.

"Forgive me for the tardiness, Mistah Kerkov," her voice flowed over him with genuine regret. Beside her was another woman, who brought in a tea service for them both.

"My name is Saffron," she introduced herself, coming to the man to extend out her hand in greeting.

"A pleasure to meet you," she said, then gestured to the seat. "Please have a seat."

She took to her own.

"Would you care for anything to drink?" she inquired, as the Twi'lek set down the tea service on the conference room desk.

Jed gave [member="Saffron"] a convincing smile across his face as she introduced herself, "It is very nice to meet you Miss Saffron." He took a seat across from her, laying a datapad on the table. Jed help up his hand, "No thank you, I am well refreshed already." He brought his hands together, "So, should we start?"

"Of course," Saffron made herself comfortable. Pouring herself some tea, she began the discourse.

"So Mistah Kerkov," hazel eyes went flicking up to catch the Zeltron's own.

"How may we at Haven Shipyards help you?"

Jed took the datapad and typed in a few words, after a few taps on the screen he gave her the tablet. It had the specifications of the payment he would give for what he was about to request, straight from the asset accounts of the Banking Federation, "Miss Saffron, us at the Banking Federation would like to purchase 20 AT-120 Freighters, please."

Saffron gave a nod. The AT-120 at first glance appeared to be little more than another Standard Freighter. Four laser cannons, two twin Laser Cannon turrets, and enough room for several passengers as well as the crew.

Upon closer inspection however a unique feature can be found on the AT-120, one that is surprisingly desirable in the markets of the underworld. Surrounding the main body of the AT-120 are its four engine Pods, each of these engine pods house an engine, and a large attachment. These attachments are in fact massive cargo containers that through repulsor lifts get hoisted onto the ship where they then attach through a series of hooks, cables and clamps. These massive Cargo containers are the AT-120's Cargo Bay. The main body of the ship houses only the Bridge, crew cabin, weapon bubbles and of course the living spaces.

The addition of external cargo bays is not a new one in the galaxy, with several older ships having the same design. The AT-120 however has the unique ability to detach these Cargo Pods while in flight. Detaching the pods makes the ship quite a bit lighter, enhancing its speed and maneuverability. It also has the added benefit of giving the AT-120 certain unique abilities within the criminal underground.

"Twenty AT-120 Freighters?" Saffron took a sip of her tea. "That can be arranged. For the bulk purchase we can also provide a discount."

Jed gave her a plastic pen and the datapad, an x and dotted line being displayed. He smiled, "If the Federation could qualify for that discount it would please us very much." The banker pointed towards the datapad,

"Once you are ready sign their and the money will be transferred once I follow in suit. Easy as that."

"We would be happy to discuss a discount for the Federation," Saffron said, shining him with a smile. Indeed, if they could begin a good business relationship here, perhaps later on the Banking Federation would return to purchase more ships.

"How does twenty percent sound?" she offered, taking another sip of her tea.

Jed was more than happy to hear those words, "Twenty percent off? I'd have to be a fool not to take that deal." The man held out his hand, motioning to shake to seal their deal.

Saffron would rise to shake his hand, but an actual contract would still need to be signed. After they had shaken, Saffron gave a smile.

"Please Mistah Kerkov," she began, turning to take a small datatablet. With a few brushes of her fingers, she drew up the contract for the man to sign.

"Simply sign here," there was a Right ID that would confirm his identity via dermatoglyphic identification plate.

Jed took the datapad and signed at the dotted line,

"I believe this concludes our business? It was nice conducting business with you and the Havan Shipyards, I hope we can continue to have a close business relationship in the future?"
