A dragon egg omelet

Mrrew smiled. Well, as close to a smile as you can get with a feline muzzle. More like he showed a lot of fangs.

"Viruses and bacteria threaten your existence. Fleas and parasites threaten your existence. Dragons want to kill you, burn you to death, and eat you alive. Not necisarily in that order."

Mrrew raised his rifle as he heard the scraping sound as well, keeping one finger on the trigger, and steadying the rifle towards the source of the noise. It would take about ten seconds for the dart to take out an angry Dragon. Int en seconds a lot can happen. Wars start in ten seconds. Planets explode in ten seconds. Monsters eat Togorians with guns in ten seconds. He just hoped [member="Xander Carrick"]'s spear could keep it back for ten minutes.

The scraping got louder. The smoke got thicker. The dragon was here.

I smiled at the quip that came from the felines mouth. Flicking the force pike down, I looked at it in the dim light. Setting the level to be that almost lethal to a human, but nothing more than just a bad sting for the dragon. Brining it back up as it was in the darkness a little light shone through. I held my hand up for Mrrew behind me to stop. Since he was larger, and because I was the bait, I wanted to walk forward alone. The tunnel came to what looked to be a large break in the mountain. Looking out, and up, I found that we were under an extinct volcano. Up towards the top was a very dense and thick form of ice that had formed over thousands of years. The light from the outside poured in to light my way.

I was about to take a step when I looked down. And saw nothing but empty air. Deciding that I was not really in that kind of mood to just off and kill myself, I pulled my foot back. "This does not look good." It would also explain how the Dragons were still able to fly. They had this huge hole in the ground to fly up and down from. The explentation of why the smoke and smell was so powerful as well. It was coming up from the ground beneath us. Hot air wanted to move up, and because it couldn't melt through the ice, It went out the only way possible.
It was dark, and I could not see the bottom. I sat the force pike down and dropped a glowstick. Counting the seconds until I could hear something......
....
....
....
....
Silence.

I shook my head. "You don't happen to have a lot of rope do you?"

[member="Mrrew"],

Mrrew, staying far enough behind [member="Xander Carrick"] to get off a good shot if the dragon attacked him, looked up to the practical glacier that had formed over them. And then down to the abyss below them. And endless abyss, apparantly. Fantastic. They couldn't just go in, get some dragon eggs, and get out, could they? No, there had to be extinct volcanoes and tunnels to the center of the planet. Considering neither of them had jetpacks, or dragon bait, Mrrew stepped next to Xander, to the edge of the abyss. There were all sorts of ways they could get the dragon to come to them, if there was one here. Even if it lived down in the abyss. But there wasn't any way to get to the dragon, or the dragon's nest... The Togorian scowled, lowering his rifle. He had equipment in his ship that could get one of them down their safely, but not both. And it wouldn't get them back up, either... He was stumped.

Mrrew looked over to Xander, still scowling.

"Ideas?"
