A Dead Drop

Location: Kendamar, Outer Rim Territor

The Kendamar Casino

The gambler's philosophy encouraged generations of addicts, and establishments like the one Seto was in only continued to produce some of the greatest philosophers of such a study. While some would find gambling threading a thin line of moral ambiguity, if not simply just a sinful vice of sorts, Seto found the sport quite exhilarating. Unfortunate with his further development of his Force aptitude, cards and games of 'chance' lost their appeal over time. Luckily the solution to dim the mind and ebb away focus or concentration was always readily supplied at Casinos, alcohol. The said glass held gracefully by Seto's gloved left hand, his right holding up his cards as he casually took another drink.

The table seen better players certainly, but Seto found no issue with making those around him poorer than they were before playing at his table. Eventually a big fish will bite his thought lingered on a particular person currently watching Seto win another hand against his opponents. With another set of collective groans from those around the table, a few threw up their arms in defeated and moved to drown their sorrows elsewhere. Seto only chuckled as he handed back his cards to the dealer, and an older man approached the table. Gotcha.

With a nod to the dealer the older man was dealt his hand, Seto in turn leaned forward and winked as he checked his own hand. The older man seemed rather dismissive, Seto offered a small smirk to only meet a more hardened look in return. That was his gamble, Seto continued to test the older man further and further, stoking the flames of anger. The impression of a rich spoiled brat wasn't hard to act, rather it was putting on an old set of clothing really for Seto. Making other people angry, well that also was just another talent he found himself naturally gifted with from the start. Seto felt the angry grow, the old man now was no longer simply playing around.

"Alright my good friends, it seems I've lost the track the time and I've got other places to go, see ya!" Seto called out, giving the dealer a finger snap. Seto's hands gracefully gathered his credits and quickly finished off his glass before heading towards the back exit leading into the alley. Seto felt several eyes follow him outside, and with a few steps outside he never heard the door close. A simple about-face and Seto saw a pair of obvious bodyguards standing next to the very same old man that Seto beat at the tables. A smile grew on Seto as he gestured towards the three of them, both hands raised high.

"What can I do you for gentlemen? Perhaps a game of Sabaac?" Seto asked, his eyes staring into the old man's.

The older man only scoffed as he gestured his guards with his head, the two nodded as they slowly approached Seto, "I'm not a very patient man and I don't take disrespects kindly either," The older man explained.

"I do believe you don't want a noble's blood on your ha-" Seto explained, placing both hands outwards to him as a sign of protest as both bodyguards continued to walk towards him.

"Oh I'm not worried, my connections run deep with a certain Governor in this sector and you see-" The older man started to explain, "-It's not my hands getting bloodied," A devilish smile finished the old man's sentence.

Seto smirked, dropping his act as he stood straight before pulling in with the Force into his hands. He launched his hands forward and both bodyguards crashed against the side of the building before slumping down to the ground knocked out. "Well, well, the name's Inquisitor Du Couteau of the Galactic Empire and under the Inquisitorial Mandate given by our Lord Inquisitor himself. You are hereby charged with bribery of Imperial Officials and now considered a criminal of the Empire," Seto responded, approaching the old man with a much more sinister smile.

"W-what?!" The old man cried out, his eyes large as he realized the positions he was now in, "-You want more names? I can give you names and money! I can give you a lot of credits, I hold power too!" The older man begged.

"How do you think I got your location and your crimes? You're just the last one on my assignment, and well unlike those other traitors that accepted your bribes-" Seto continued to explain, a small blade shot out from Seto's hand and into the older man's heart. "-I'll take your credits through our Sabaac game instead of a bribe," Seto added.

His dead target now lying with a growing pool of blood on the alley floor served to Seto as a reminder of how far the Empire will go to deal with disloyal officials and traitorous dealings that work against the Empire. Though hardly one to simply commit an execution without proper reason, Seto found himself shaking his head at his deed. These kind of assignments never sat well with him, not from some moral high ground but because it all felt tedious to the young Inquisitor. With all my new responsibilities being handed to me, I do really wish for the simpler days Seto mused with a sigh.

The night was still young and he had another assignment that needed dealing with now that he finished with this last one. Never rest for the weary.
