A commitment not easily broken…

Corvus wandered outside of the temple. As much as she enjoyed the atmosphere, she liked fresh air more. So she exited the doors of the underground Temple on Lothal and gazed at the plains and at the recently planted woods that marked the route to the disguised hangar.

She’d been asked to meet by a Padawan of long-standing. She knew of her troubles with Masters coming and going, and wondered if it was this that was bothering her, or something else altogether.

So Corvus waited for the young woman to arrive, not pre-judging the conversation — but none the less unable to shake a bad feeling about this.

As she walked towards the meeting place, the padawan sighed knowing how this conversation would start. But she could no longer shake her feelings. She could no longer watch as she felt the darkness in the universe grow. Seeing her fellow Corellian she stepped up to her taking her hood off. The old jedi combat armor and green robes still on her as always. "Thank you for meeting me master Raaf. I am sorry to bring you out here but I feel I no longer can let this wait.It has haunted me since Corellia died. Master the Jedi from sicne I was a child were always spoken of as heros. They were the guardiens of peace and justice even back in the old republic so long ago. But now I felt the force quake as darkness destroyed Corellia...destroyed my home. As the Sith stomp all over the galaxy nearly unchecked. While I can never stop being a jedi I believe i do think I can no longer remain here with the order as it is" She looked sad and nervous all at once.

She looked over the area a bit. "I am a guardian master, my duty is to protect people, in the order I'm not doing that feel I am being told to allow the darkness to thrive and destroy everything I once loved. The jedi i fear have lost our way, we worry too much of avoiding conflict now when we don't need scholars, we need to barrow a quote from so long ago a army of light to confront the brotherhood of darkness set before us. I can no longer remain a emotionless drone in a cog of learning. While I will always be an ally to the jedi and a jedi myself, I will find my own path in the light to defend those who cannot defend themselves. I am leaving the order. I am sorry but I will not sit by idoling for another Corellia or Alderaan. No more destruction on such a scale without a jedi to stand against it. I am sorry to have to bring this up but I feel if I let it fester it'll only lead to resentment and anger neither emotion will be healthy for me." She sighed and prepared herself, no doubt the jedi master before her would not be pleased. But this had to be done.

Corvus listened. She was a good listener and patient. Much of what she heard she had listened to before. There were no magic wands she could wave to make things right for Catherine. Some things said she entirely agreed with. Others they could debate, but this was not the place or the time.

“All I ask is that you follow the path of the Light.”

She wasn’t sure what Catherine expected her to say. But Corvus only spoke the truth.

“There is no one set path. Each Jedi must do what their heart tells them is right. As you say, to fight it risks a fall to the Dark-side. Rest assured there is a place here for you. Jedi of the Order or just a Jedi. You are equally welcome.”

“Seek the Silvers. Seek the New Jedi Order. Follow your own path. If you need help, you know where to come. My door is always open.”

“Tell me. What do you need? Equipment? Supplies? Introductions?”

She was surprised and not all at once. Damn master Corvus was good at that, but at least she knew where things stood. "Glad to know it is, and no I have a ride and a place to go. The Black Rose granted mostly darksiders but I have no plans to become a follower of the darkness. It may be powerful but the cost is too high. I do not use the force for my own power but for the power to do things for others. Rest assured master I remain a jedi whatever roads I walks. the force is still my ally, so long as that is the case know I can remain in the light." Sure wasn't ones first thoughts on groups to go to but the group actually seemed uninterested in conversion to the dark side. She did know however it'd allow her to do more and with that she could protect people. "Take care of you're self master Raaf. May the force be with you." With that the padawan left for a shuttle to take her off, the young jedi almost wondering if she had done the right thing but then reminding herself why she did this. With that she left.

Corvus watched her go. People were, as a rule, free spirits. The Black Rose she knew of. Her younger sister was a former member. And a Sith. There had been a tentative approach to her for an alliance - but as yet nothing had been formalised in terms of talks.

Perhaps the Black Rose was changing? Perhaps? But Catherine knew her own mind and would make it up for herself.

So she held any counsel she had and wished the Padawan well in her journey. Both physical and metaphorical. She simply repeated the words back to Catherine. "May the Force be with you...always."
