Aboard the Scorching Raven

A lone Geonosian solar sailer ripped out of hyperspace just before the distant planet of Nirauan, an old ship by any standard it had served its crew well over the years. Slowly its engines came to a puttering halt; blue flame disappearing as the ship drifted towards the barricade of battle cruisers before it. Guns shifted and whirled to life, their aim locked on the position of the Scorching Raven; quickly the captain leaned forward onto the dash, a display opening and the communications request sent to the nearest ship in range.

“To the forces of the New Imperial Order, the Scorching Raven seeks passage through the blockade.” A woman’s voice rang over the comm link, a visual not provided.

With a handful of battles under his belt, Lucien was due for a much-needed break, and luckily his injuries gave him all the excuse he needed. He was supposed to be confined to rest in his quarters down on the surface, but the Jedi didn't quite care for following the protocol when there were other things on his mind to consider. A quick trip down to the spaceport and a few clearance codes later and Luc was set to drift comfortably among the blockade of Imperial vessels by his lonesome. With a bit of music playing over his speakers and his astromech in control of the sticks, he kicked his feet onto the dash and bobbed his head to the music in peace.

He much preferred the peace and tranquility of space over the militarized planet beneath him. The Imperial war-machine was steadily pushing towards their eventual conflict with the Sith, and each subjugated world had brought them more personnel and resources to fuel the fires for that soon to come conflict. Even from the tranquility of space, Lucien couldn't fully escape the reality that was his life since joining the Order. Blue eyes trailed across the glass as every-so-often the occasional flight of TIE's entered his vision on their patrols across the blockade. Some of them signaled him with their wings, while others would ignore the Eta-2 that clearly wasn't in the mood to be bothered by the navy's rank and file. In the end they left him to his own devices, as his presence among the blockade became a common sight since his brief vacation had began.

The music within his cockpit became muted as his astromech interjected over the speakers after the arrival of a ship from hyperspace. The astromech brought the starfighter to life just as the ship's captain delivered a message to the blockade, who responded with a flight of TIE's being sent out to investigate the odd ship. Lucien deactivated his starfighter's autopilot and boosted his thrusters to maximum speed, the agile Eta-2 quickly entering an approach vector with both the flight of TIE's and the civilian vessel. Midnight approached their rear quicker than the TIE fighters could react, and within an instant he'd cut through the formation on a bee-line for the ship. The formation of TIE's hesitated for a moment, then broke off back towards the blockade after Luc provided his clearance for the vessel to be escorted down to the surface without further cause for investigation.

Lucien skirted Midnight around the rear of the vessel before looping around to an escort position on its flank. "Scorching Raven, was it?" He asked the Captain after opening up a line to the ship. "I was surprised to see another relic from the past 'sides my own in this part of wild space. Anyway- the blockade shouldn't hassle you on your way down to the surface anymore, but i'll escort you down to the spaceport in case they get antsy." Luc brought his starfighter closer to the vessel behind the sail and gave a thumbs up towards their viewport, then broke back off to his previous position. "Welcome to Nirauan."
