  • Manufacturer: Avery Designs.
  • Model: A-37X ‘Nevermore’ Raven.
  • Production: Mass Produced.
  • Affiliation: Closed market.
  • Modularity: No.
  • Material: Durasteel.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION
  • Classification: Fourth Degree.
  • Weight: 1.1 Kg.
  • Height: 15 cm.
  • Movement: Repulsorlifts located in wings and beneath the droid.
  • Armaments: None.
  • Misc. Equipment: Photoreceptors, Auditory Sensors, Recording Equipment, User-Droid Remote.

SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Sensitized Photoreceptors – Fine-tuned optics designed for recording in fine detail up to 200 metres.
  • Heightened Auditory Sensors – Specialized sensors capable of isolating frequencies and eliminating background noise.
  • Recording Equipment - Can store up to 48 hours of video recording and 72 hours of auditory recording.
  • Vocabulator – Capable of mimicking a variety of bird calls.
  • Handheld remote - Device which can be used to receive information from the droid, update orders and uploading target information, providing droid is within a 1 kilometre radius.

Strengths:
  • Capable of identifying unique individuals and provide surveillance.
  • Can fly almost soundlessly. Repulsorlifts can only be heard from 1 metre away.
  • Can transmit and receive information wirelessly, allowing the user to spy on the target from a safe distance.

Weaknesses:
  • Delicate and easily destroyed. It is vulnerable to any form of blaster fire as well as blunt force.
  • Use of repulsorlifts gives the droid an unnatural flying pattern. Close inspection of movements will identify the droid as a mimic, provided the droid is observed properly.
  • Droid is not recognized by organic birds, who are startled into flight. Therefore, the droid cannot blend within a flock of birds.

DESCRIPTION
The Raven is designed for subterfuge and reconnaissance. The droid blends into the environment and remain inconspicuous while recording potential targets.
***
The A-37X ‘Nevermore’ Raven was the first custom-made Droid produced by Avery Designs. Originally designed for civilian use as a household pet, it was re-purposed as a military droid in order to fulfill an overwhelming demand of military contracts.

The Raven is equipped with processors designed around specific routines. There are three main functions. The first is to mimic the behaviour of organic birds, their mannerisms and sounds produced. However, the droid has difficulty imitating bird flying patterns because the repulsorlifts cannot replicate the movements.

The second function is to identify a target. The Raven does this by using specialized photoreceptors to match details from any individuals in the surrounding area and the target. Target information such as images and known behaviours can be uploaded to the Raven via the remote. The more information uploaded to the droid, the faster it can identify the target.

The third, and final, function is following and observing the subject. The Raven uses recording devices to track movements, and audio recording equipment when close to the target. The droid monitors from a distance by default, but can be programmed to move in closer. However, the closer the droid is to the target the more likely it is spotted and destroyed.

Due to its small size and high number of components, there is no room for armour plating. This means that the droid is very weak to all form of physical damage as well as most blaster fire. Avery Designs therefore recommends care when trailing targets.
