OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: Create a cool thing.
  • Image Source: Kingsman: Golden Circle.
  • Canon Link: /
  • Restricted Missions: /
  • Primary Source: Laser Lasso | Lightwhip
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Manufacturer: Daro Tarsi | Cogmind.
  • Model: 5N4P-1N
  • Affiliation: Closed-Market
  • Modularity: No
  • Production: Semi-Unique
  • Material: Kyber shards, electronic components, gyroscopic stabilizer, sensors.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: Lightlasso
  • Size: Average
  • Weight: Light
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Intensity. The lasso has three settings: non-lethal which can only stun and shock the target, lethal that can slice through most materials without issue. (Comparable to a standard lightsaber) and disabled- the latter of which is only really suitable for non-combat scenarios or unarmed targets.
  • Versatile. Lacking dimetris circuits in its design and having a bifurcating cyclical-ignition pulse ensures that it can't be short-out by cortosis dust and won't be damaged by water immersion.
  • Stabilizer. The regular lightwhip is a practical death sentence to wielders that aren't extremely well-trained in utilizing it. That is simply the way they are designed, but Daro wasn't happy with it. Instead he integrated a miniature gyroscopic stabilizer with a micro droid-brain into this design. In essence the 5N4P-1N has a limited ability to self-correct itself during a fight, stabilizing itself before it slices through a friend and angling itself towards foes.
Strengths:
  • Lasso: Versatile, smol, effective. It is a distinct upgrade from the lightwhips of old. Chances are you will be less likely to cut yourself in half while trying to use one. Yay!
Weaknesses:
  • Dangerous: The lethal setting (and let's be real, the regular setting too) can be dangerous to the wielder as well. Proper training and caution needs to be exercised while using this thing.
  • Ion: The stabilizer, miniature droid brain and friend/foe system are highly sensitive to ionic weaponry and EMPs. A direct hit has the potential to disable the safety protocols. During a pitched battle that can be deadly, if the wielder doesn't compensate immediately.
  • Friend/Foe: The targeting system has only a limited ability to recognize what is and isn't a threat. Unless pre-programmed and synced, it can't shift out unknown elements just like that, not without a decent amount of time to calibrate itself.
  • Tight corridors: There still needs to be a decent amount of space for this to be as effective. Cramped spaces will make the 5N4P-1N relatively ineffective.
DESCRIPTION
The Galaxy can be a weird place sometimes, but it's about to get weirder.

Ever wanted a versatile lasso that can either shock a thug, slice a stormtrooper in half or help ya navigate those fancy (dirty) ruins you are trying to traverse? Daro Tarsi got you here. The 5N4P-1N is specifically catering to those Han Solo-fedora wearing adventurers that don't like the pull-out rate of their blaster holster or never really liked the way they looked with a lightsaber waving around.

Instead the lasso is designed in the classical vintage way with a few upgrades here an' there.

After all, he actually likes some of his regular customers and would feel rather bad if they accidentally sliced themselves in half while trying to use one. A stabilizer, micro droidbrain and custom friend/foe system lowers the risk of a wielder doing just that. The whip, if pre-programmed and kept updated, will have a rough idea who its friends are and who are really rude.

The former it will try to avoid, angling away its own slices as best as possible, while the former will get the full brunt of its non-sentient fury.

Good luck.
